THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

London riots: Man admits starting furniture store fire

A man has pleaded guilty to starting a fire which destroyed a 144-year-old furniture shop in south London during last summer's riots.

Gordon Thompson, 33, changed his plea during a trial at the Old Bailey.

The court had previously heard that Thompson told another man "it was me", as he walked away from the burning House of Reeves in Croydon on 8 August.

Gangs of youths clash with police

Police have called for calm after disturbances during a protest targeted at a Greater Manchester takeaway.

About 200 youths gathered in Market Street in Heywood, Rochdale, on Thursday and smashed the windows of Tasty Bites.

An officer was injured when police were pelted with bricks and missiles as they tried to control the crowd.

Police said there were local "tensions" over a continuing child-sex court case.

The police officer suffered bruising to his arms and legs. Three police vehicles and a fourth vehicle were damaged.
