zscrooge: Don't see SEO as a micro cap, whatever your definition. More a fundamentalist than a chartist but you only need to study the charts and you can see, at least in retrospect, that the charts are a good trading tool. Used Blue Index last year; Zak Mir was consulted on SEO and he gave useful interpretation of chart pattern which essentially proves my point. In fact, your evo comment is also a sweeping generalisation. I find their analyses generally helpful although, unsurprisingly, it varies by analyst. If you access their site have a look at Alizyme where their analysis is very relevant in terms of the forecast model applied.

Ok just off to bedfordshire but before then I am going to make a wild predictiction as to how the share price will react. Have absolutely no idea, but for comedy value I'm gonna make a prediction...

A drop initially to 14.75, 15.25 by lunch time ending at 15.5 at close of trading...

Anything higher, then first round is on me for anyone living in or near Leeds!!

Hunty!

I like this :

"We are evaluating one tray, for one customer that has a current usage of 1.5 billion units per annum. Each tray weighs approx 50 grams and therefore consumes around 75,000 tonnes of (non-environmentally friendly) plastic a year. It would require between 500 and 600 tray lidders to seal just these trays. We are able to offer a complete solution through the supply chain."

Look like all is going to plan and we're on target. Some big stuff to come shortly I Suspect. Plan to ramp up Starpol production is excellent.

kimoldfield - 28 Feb 2006 07:38 - 15202 of 27111

Not fully digested it yet but it looks like Starpol is going to be the main product doesn't it?

Tonyrelaxes - 28 Feb 2006 07:52 - 15203 of 27111

KimO
I think Starpol has always been the main product - thats why they named their Headquarters "Starpol Technology Centre" - several years ago in fact.

kimoldfield - 28 Feb 2006 07:55 - 15204 of 27111

Very much a 'Rome wasn't built in a day' type of report which some will NOT like, personally I think it paints a very good picture for the future, if there is a dip in the sp today I will add, otherwise I am still holding for my pension plan! There is some VERY encouraging stuff in the report, otherwise much as expected, especially the 2 Greenseal conversions. about which they have been very open, at least testing is now on "an extended shift work basis" gotta be good!

kim

kimoldfield - 28 Feb 2006 07:58 - 15205 of 27111

Tony

Yes, my feeling too, I think that the promise of Greenseal, whilst clearly still there, was a little over-hyped, it should have been obvious that there would be teething problems, but with hindsight and all that; it still remains a very strong second string to SEO's bow IMO.

Initially - disappointed.
Gonna read them again and look for the plus points.

Biscuit - 28 Feb 2006 08:12 - 15207 of 27111

Disappointed? What exactly where you expecting? Good steady progress, that's what I read.

hewittalan6 - 28 Feb 2006 08:22 - 15208 of 27111

Its what i'm starting to theink of as the SEO syndrome!!!
Don't get me wrong, I'm as confident as ever of this being an excellent medium - long term hold.
Losses higher than anticipated, don't care - not a great issue currently.
The real thing is that the company is doing all the right things and talking to all the right customers. It has the right product and the future looks very good.
The issue is the vagueness of everything. How many Starpol licenses? How much is each one worth? What are the discussions with Persico exactly? How do the JV's with WalMart work? Will the 200 conversions be hit? etc. etc.
The commentary hints at these things with no clue to the answers.
I am still holding and will continue to do so, I amy even add, but I get a little bit of a sour taste from what I feel are political answers!
I keep arguing with myself that of course the developments are vaguely reported, until negotiations are complete they cannot put figures on them, but I had hoped that, for instance, the Persico thing would say negotiations for the supply of Starpol to XYZ Ltd, who make takeaway drinks cups for ABC Ltd. Or something like that.
never mind. Holding tight for the next RNS. Again.

Biscuit - 28 Feb 2006 08:26 - 15209 of 27111

Just remember Alan they are in trials with Wal-Mart, things can't be that bad! Look at the quote re the tray that uses 75,000 tonnes of plastic per year and 500 machines! That is what they are looking at at the minute, great stuff!

jameshunt1985 - 28 Feb 2006 08:28 - 15210 of 27111

Very true Alan, some better indication of quantity would have given investerd a little better insight as to exactly where we are today. But don't forget, you even said it yourself, that they can't give figures as to how much is to be brought and on what scale, until they have signed a specific contract with the clients...

Another interesting mention, Hadn't heard anything about this before,

The distribution and manufacturing deals for FrogPack, have been reviewed and
restructured and we are now pleased to announce that we have agreed a deal with
Mondi Packaging.

looks as if it is a quater pence lower than my comedy predicition last night!

Yeah, I know biscuit.
Got me depressed head on this morning.
I hold 18 stocks and 2 have reported finals this morning. Both down!!
I'll look to the NOWT thread to cheer me up (Unless I win the FTSE competition - need the FTSE to end at 5890 today!!!)
Alan

jameshunt1985 - 28 Feb 2006 08:33 - 15212 of 27111

Betfair has 5875.9 and above at 1.67 to 1! I like those kind of odds...

hewittalan6 - 28 Feb 2006 08:37 - 15213 of 27111

Hunty,
Try the FTSE competition thread.
It has odds of 50 oddbins voucher to nowt. I like those kind of odds.
And I know how much an oddbins voucher would help stretch your meagre student allowance. ;-)

Oilywag - 28 Feb 2006 08:40 - 15214 of 27111

I agree quite a lot with Alan says and now know why they released the RNS on Friday about Walmart. Just a sweetener to camouflage the disappointment that investors have with this statement which I found a little lacking in hard facts.

There is absolutely no reason why they could not have told us how many machines they expect to be converted in the ASDA exclusive deal by the end of the July.

I agree the future does, on the basis of information provided, look to be very rosy, but I wish they could have blown a little of the smoke away.

What I omitted to say, is that I still remain a very long holder of this stock because of the potential future which is vast.

The oily one

jameshunt1985 - 28 Feb 2006 08:51 - 15215 of 27111

Wow thats a quick recovery. Thats a 4 ticks up in under half an hour, maybe my comedy prediction will hold true.... hmm.

stockdog - 28 Feb 2006 08:54 - 15216 of 27111

I always remember Warren Buffet a few years ago after the tech bubble burst saying he'd had a very boring year investing in paint, carpets and bricks - and was very excited about it.

RF sealing, Starpol and packaging are hopefully going to continue to be equally boring over the next 5 years.

hewittalan6 - 28 Feb 2006 08:58 - 15217 of 27111

I always remember my Grandad, Festus Beauregard Dipfinger IV, saying "Don't balme the dog, you trod in it".
Don't know if that helps.

kimoldfield - 28 Feb 2006 09:01 - 15218 of 27111

I'm happy to watch the paint dry. Not much about the court case, seems to be just about business as usual, not much in the way of concessions and only 690k costs? Chief Exec doesn't say anything despite the note at the bottom of the accounts.

I'm still :-) about the long term
