Yeah, I know biscuit.
Got me depressed head on this morning.
I hold 18 stocks and 2 have reported finals this morning. Both down!!
I'll look to the NOWT thread to cheer me up (Unless I win the FTSE competition - need the FTSE to end at 5890 today!!!)

Betfair has 5875.9 and above at 1.67 to 1! I like those kind of odds...

hewittalan6 - 28 Feb 2006 08:37 - 15213 of 27111

Hunty,
Try the FTSE competition thread.
It has odds of 50 oddbins voucher to nowt. I like those kind of odds.
And I know how much an oddbins voucher would help stretch your meagre student allowance. ;-)

I agree quite a lot with Alan says and now know why they released the RNS on Friday about Walmart. Just a sweetener to camouflage the disappointment that investors have with this statement which I found a little lacking in hard facts.

There is absolutely no reason why they could not have told us how many machines they expect to be converted in the ASDA exclusive deal by the end of the July.

I agree the future does, on the basis of information provided, look to be very rosy, but I wish they could have blown a little of the smoke away.

What I omitted to say, is that I still remain a very long holder of this stock because of the potential future which is vast.

The oily one

Wow thats a quick recovery. Thats a 4 ticks up in under half an hour, maybe my comedy prediction will hold true.... hmm.

stockdog - 28 Feb 2006 08:54 - 15216 of 27111

I always remember Warren Buffet a few years ago after the tech bubble burst saying he'd had a very boring year investing in paint, carpets and bricks - and was very excited about it.

RF sealing, Starpol and packaging are hopefully going to continue to be equally boring over the next 5 years.

I always remember my Grandad, Festus Beauregard Dipfinger IV, saying "Don't balme the dog, you trod in it".
Don't know if that helps.

kimoldfield - 28 Feb 2006 09:01 - 15218 of 27111

I'm happy to watch the paint dry. Not much about the court case, seems to be just about business as usual, not much in the way of concessions and only 690k costs? Chief Exec doesn't say anything despite the note at the bottom of the accounts.

I'm still :-) about the long term

whatever happened to the asda starpol trials. they issued an rns for it but now silence.

kimoldfield - 28 Feb 2006 09:03 - 15220 of 27111

"Don't balme the dog" Alan, something to do with Undertaking?!

kim

kimoldfield - 28 Feb 2006 09:03 - 15221 of 27111

Don't worry Alan SEO are NOT a dead dog.

I think the asda starpol trials have rolled over into the bigger picture which is Wal-Mart in USA

EWRobson - 28 Feb 2006 09:05 - 15223 of 27111

Financially, acheivement at bottom end of expectations (mine); potential more rosy. Reasonable cash; at least a year's worth on bast burn, but probably moving onto more expensive phase. Hint that ASDA deal will be extended to get the volume. So not much expectation for current financial year. Looks as though we will still be living on RNSs; but there could well be some really good news down the line. Have we been here before?

No, I don't think we have Eric

Treblewide - 28 Feb 2006 09:13 - 15225 of 27111

these results are poor...very poor

EWRobson - 28 Feb 2006 09:19 - 15226 of 27111

Agree, Treblewide: the results are poor compared with expectations built up last Summer. The prospects are good, very good though. What should the cap. of company be? Why 150m? Far too high on basis of performance. Far too low on basis of prospect. Friend Evil has it right, stache them away for the family's inheritance!

Eric

kimoldfield - 28 Feb 2006 09:20 - 15227 of 27111

Treblewide

Poor yes, but promising, very promising, and to be honest perhaps a little better than I was expecting. I felt that the RNS last week was a confidence booster before today, but really it was not necessary, having re-read the results 4/5 times I like what I see, very bullish and oozing confidence.

kim

Treblewide - 28 Feb 2006 09:34 - 15228 of 27111

mmm....do not see much positives except more jam tomorrow type statements....turnover stayed constant and loss getting wider....there is no bottom line commercial progress in 12 months i am unsure where your confidence ooze comes from

kimoldfield - 28 Feb 2006 09:39 - 15229 of 27111

Treblewide

This is where the confidence lies!:-

The intention is to offer a number of manufacturing licences in the US to
produce its range of materials through a micro manufacturing program for supply
to the supermarket and quick service restaurant industry. These licences will
enable converters to ensure a guaranteed supply of biodegradeable material in
order to satisfy the demands of these industries. Each licence will be for a
minimum of 20,000 tonnes and will be operated as joint ventures. This program
will ensure the availability of product in order that the market will be able to
have a rapid uptake of biodegradable materials. Recent negotiations with
manufacturers that are particularly concerned with the future of petroleum based
plastics have shown great interest in vertically integrating resin production in
or beside their plants.

Anything that remotely hints at being good for the evironment these days will be accepted with open arms!!

barney12345 - 28 Feb 2006 09:40 - 15230 of 27111

Kim I agree, but you see the trouble is that it always promising promising, i bought at 3p years ago. In those days we were promised what is now quantom and medical products (viz cc), then we were promised greenseal, then asda, then greenseal walmrt, then starpol, now walmart again, oh and maybe 1.5 billion trays and maybe cig butts and maybe this and maybe that and may be now fast-tracking Walmart.

I mean greenseal is a joke, here are Asda looking to cut costs to compete in UK we nick one of their top execs and nearly a year later we have 1% of the total converted, 1%%%%%%%%%%. If I missed my targets by that much i would be fired.

I am still in for the long term and think the prospects are good but i am getting fed up with jam tomorrow as the jam always changes and tomorrow always seems further off. 1% for goodness sake - are they up to the challenge. And why does every damn tray in ASDA look greensealed??????????????
