I am signing up to the following if any body wishes to follow me. I will update and post the league table on this thread. Did ok last season but joined late and was unable to catch up the leaders. Here's hoping for a better result this season!!

The new Premiership season kicks off on Saturday and this year BBC Radio Five Live's Challenge Lawro will be bigger and better than ever! What's more - we've also teamed up with BBC Sport's Football Focus. Tune into BBC One every Saturday from noon for the Premiership pre-match build-up and to hear the presenters give their predictions on the weekends' Premiership action.
Win with Challenge Lawro
The prizes aren't bad either - the Manager of the Month is invited onto Five Live's Drive programme to give Peter Jane and Mark, their footie predictions...and also awarded one of our shiny new Manager of the Month medals. At the end of the season, the player who has scored the most points, will be presented with a special Challenge Lawro trophy by the man himself. They will also be offered the chance to come into our London studios to be a pundit with Mark Lawrenson!
Last season, over 120,000 people registered to play Challenge Lawro. If you think you can take on your friends to be the champion of champions, then get playing now!

scrip, if southampton are pleying away to portsmouth, and saints are having a bad run (not scored a goal for as long has you could remember, what score would you predict? I have that dilemma this weekend.

All depends on the scoring power of the team they are playing really.

There is a correct score spreadsheet on this site.

i cant believe we beat the V***a it could have been 5, we were awesome the fist half. Turning point maybe. Listening to the match chelsea just equalised, hope this is the final score.

I thought it would have been a draw, simply on the basis that teams are usually up for it on these sorts of occasions. Surprised to see it come in as a win for Brum though as they have been pretty poor of late. Not as much of a surprise as conceding two goals in the last two minutes for my team though!!!

Kivver just mulling over what it is about Villa that they can't beat you. Could be something to do with the goalkeepers; there seems to be a curse in place. Had to laugh when I watched the highlights last night. Will never beat that OG last year though.

Good performance by all blues over the weekend - Everton, Birmingham and Chelsea. Still puzzled by the midlands team though, as how on earth can they play like that one week, and struggle nearly every other?
Everton continue to surprise (me at least), when is their bubble going to burst?
Xmas is usually a turning point for many clubs, so the next month could prove very interesting.
Meanwhile hope our neighbours do us all a favour tonite, and halt the advancing Mancs.

Good draw for fulham. What did you think of Henry's goal. The rules say it was a good goal. Teams have got to wake up to this! Still shouldnt stop you from winning the league though!

At the end of the day if you foul somebody you get a free kick. You should be allowed to take it when you wish else were is the advantage in getting a free kick? Get somebody to stand in front of the ball if you wish to halt it. There is a good explanation on the BBC sport web site which sums it up pretty well.

Totally agree that you are awarded a free kick because of an infringment, you have the advanage why should the defending team get the advantage? Great goal in my book.
I am also a qualified referee and the interpreting the rules it is a goal...

yes i agree, very disappointed with the way Chelsea have reacted. Peter Chech has gone as far to say the ref was an Arsenal fan!

Given my position I see this one differently, as;
1. It was not a foul.
2. Both Eider and Cech have said that the ref told Eider 3 times that he was going to blow the whistle - That is precisely why Eider turned away and walked back as he felt he could line up in time.
3. Its Arsenal (Ok - maybe not the best reason!).
Very clever thinking by the arrogant one though - va va voom, but ironically he then goes and misses the easiest of his 3 chances.
Missed the Fulham game last nite, but a colleague said that the Mancs were all over them until then. Well done nontheless.

"3. Its Arsenal (Ok - maybe not the best reason!)."
Nah, That's the best case for saying the goal was dodgy IMO. ROFL!
I did something for radio five live a little while ago when people were phoning in complaining that Man U always got more penalties than they should.
To my surprise it was true!! They were indeed awarded more penalties than any other team.

2 Questions Scrip
1. How did you get involved with 5 live?, and
2. Re:Man U penalties - Did they earn the majority at Home ?

Phoned them once on a phone in and they followed up. Actually I did a session with them back in 1996 when I ran the London marathon under the football challenge moniker. Very funny as I had to run for QPR in the season they were relegated from the top flight. During the interview they asked all the questions about how long have you been a QPR fan (Of course I never had been). But when they asked if QPR would avoid relegation I said sure, they will follow my race plan. Start slow lull the rest into a sense of false security then have an amazing finish. Unfortunately neither came true!!
2. Yes
Kivver, Looks like your guys are on the turn!!

Scrip -Thanks for your response - I wondered where you could find a fit QPR fan from - all is now revealed.
Logged on today to look at my scores only to find that I couldn't have saved them properly - this in a week when I had them all 100% correct (Honest).
Still its a game of two halves, not over 'til the fact lady sings, long season etc etc.

Yes got most of the results right this week if not the scores.
As for bcfc i think the next 2 weeks will show if we have turned the corner. Not sure how Savage will react to the bid from Blackburn, i just cannot understand why he would want to go there. He has been brilliant the last 2 games after a very average season where some of the fans did get on his back. You hate him but he is great to have in your team.
