Had you realised you're dripping Brylcreem on the floor?

Some of you may know that I am interested in aviation (I have many anoraks!), on the next week or two there should be an attempt to fly round the world non stop in a jet powered aircraft. The plane will be flown by Steve Fossett and it was designed by the aviation genius Burt Rutan. This bid is being sponsored by Virgin and Richard Branson is the reserve pilot although I am pretty sure he wont fly the plane even if Fossett cant.

Rutan's company Scaled Composites is at the forefront of aviation and for a small company it has done some fantastic things, including designing the Voyager aircraft that was the first (prop driven) plane to fly non stop round the world, he also designed the Spaceship one rocket plane system which recently won the X-Prize for being the first private manned spacecraft to fly into space.

These things may not seem to relevant to our daily lives but I believe they show us the way ahead and will one day help make all our lives better. Anyway whether they do or not the Global Flyer program will be fascinating.

here is a link showing what the aircraft looks like :-

Despite the penalty we should have had a fair result - time for us to focus on the champions league - a centre half pairing of hoyte and cygan should have the top sides petrified lol.

Had several beers so far tonite - time to find something stronger - i hate living in manchester sometimes

MightyMicro - 01 Feb 2005 22:06 - 164 of 24230

Bummer, said Dougal.

hilary - 01 Feb 2005 22:09 - 165 of 24230

4 goals conceded at home. Looks like Whinger's next up for the tin tack.

gallick - 01 Feb 2005 22:09 - 166 of 24230

I have read all the above posts, and have to concede that you guys all seem a bit deranged to me (sorry if I'm blowing your cover). But on second thoughts, I suppose it is a DUTCH coffee house!!

In which case I'm sure you won't mind if roll up this big spliff an' chill a little! Who knows, I might even suss out where Spaceman is coming from!!

Hil:

I doubt it. He's not in the firing line yet. I know you're still broken-hearted about Claudio, but you know his boss wanted him out without good reason.

D,

He had to go ...... it was never in doubt. I just didn't agree with the unsettling influence while we were still contending on a couple of fronts.

Btw, is it just coffee that you can buy in this fancy Dutch joint or do they sell caps as well?
