I closed out at 1.8375. Simultaneous close on my Euro Long. +206pip overall.
I see resistance becoming support at 1.8325. Possible Re-Entry.
Also got a nice 50pip rally on the Dow jones 150 Break Out. all in all a good day. Shame im still paper trading.. But then had it been real money im sure id be out 100pips.

was unfortunately not around for the pm session yesterday..so missed out on the rise
But came in with my...wait for it 'short hat' on today
2 clear dojis on the 4 hour bars after a very good run
1.8420 touched on this am as a good ressitance level
Will review during the day with a tight stop of course
All the more crucial when I am clearly positioning against the
'current' trend

Well I'm short this morning against the trend and against my strategy. I've taken the view that if I'm not in it, I'm not going to win it. Stop at entry to breakeven.
Mr E, Sorry but I don't think that I know anybody called Mike L. For that matter, who's Dil?
:o)

Temporarily closed my short at 1.8333...as dont feel that the bulls has given up yet
Someone off this bb has asked me about 'scaling in and out on FX'
while I do this a lot I have not really much aboout it
Can anyone point me to an article which runs through this technique

IG Markets are launching a discretionary management FX service. Idea is you give them $10,000 and they trade it 24/5 using dealers instincts and some sort of computer system (Autopilot FX Management Programme)
If it was anybody else other than IG I would not even mention it let alone think about it but they do have a more reasonable rep than some other CFD providers...has anybody else looked at this and does anybody have any views?
(no personal financial involement or introducer status)

I think this thread (if not most of moneyAM) is about being master of your own destiny (good or bad)
rather than putting your trust in some unknown system/person
Would be happier with cash in a building society
Agree with Mr Euro re IG Index..
or should I say "wide spread fleecers of
other peoples capital"
reshorted Cable at 1.8366 stop at cost +1 :-)

Take your point foale but we are also collectively looking for "alpha".

Whats alpha paul?
Paulismyname

alpha = outperformance against the trend or indicies. Its primary use is to evaluate hedge fund or collective investment management and usually refers to one fund or one manager or one instrument. In the usage above the point I was making was to seek an advantage. Technical answer below
A coefficient measuring the risk -adjusted performance, considering the risk due to the specific security, rather than the overall market. A large alpha indicates that the stock or mutual fund has performed better than would be predicted given its beta (volatility).

11 fx trades today 10 were profits 61 pips the largest gain
one loss 7 pips
A day of scalping seemed more appropriate as the near term direction undecided
Now off home to attend a 3 year olds birthday party..
