Alan: I liked your Company A v Company B scenario. Funny they were the same company on a time warp. What it says is that we are nine months down the line: over-hyped optimism has given way to a more balanced realism but with a broader base. It seems to be that every decent company seems to go through those growth pains: like sd I have three current success stories, his DGT and ASC plus AZM. All have had a year of set-back for differing reasons, have emerged stronger and the risk ahead seems less.

Amusing piece in Shares under Trading referring to Evil's long in SEO: is not impressed with his track record in this respect. "Stanelco does have some promising things in the pipeline but traders ought to exercise caution, as the stock attracts a lot of gossip - most of which ranges from the inaccurate to the ridiculous." Not that impressed with the comment. First, "does have some promising things in the pipeline" - damnation by faint praise; but the things in the pipeline are mega in terms of most developemnt programmes particularly in the technology sector. Second, the comment aimed at bb's such as this; but you only need to look at the serious effort to come to terms with the prelims and you see how useful this bb is; yes, the prelims shook me out to an extent with concern of a bear market, but, helped by the dialogue, I have a much better perspective from which I conclude that SEO should have been included in Shares Top 100 and have rebuilt the stake on the back of the AZM rise. Not very happy with Mr Geoff Ho Ho Hum! Cheap comment!

Sharesure: impressed with your previous call on the understanding of ASDA contract status, so take your May timeframe seriously. That's probably a good timeframe for positive progress on both major fronts. Expect the sp to start moving ahead of that time - it has certainly proved resilient this week.

Some were querying the "minimum" of 1 year exclusivity. Last year's finals states:

"At the time of writing we are in advanced negotiations with Asda Stores.
Stanelco has granted Asda an option until 10 April 2005 to consider entering
into an exclusive arrangement for a minimum of 1 year for the UK and Ireland to
introduce Stanelco's RF sealing technology to Asda's supplier base. Clearly, if

with Asda's US parent Walmart, and its affiliate in Germany."

garyble: good quote. The eventual agreement was delayed by three months and I think was specifically one year; not sure whether it quoted 200. I would be quite sure that SEO will need to deliver the 200 before moving on in the UK. The other point is the mention of Walmart which now appears closer to fruition, plus the German affiliate, a good stepping off point into that market for 2007.

garyble: thanks again. As one assumed; doesn't sound a major issue although not in the normalline of business for SEO. One thing it working beautifully in the lab., another in production scenario. I wonder if there is a bit of a mindset gap between the techies and the marketeers; not unusual. Hopefully a lesson learnt for next time.

SD - You mention risk in your post above, have a look at the graph below, quite interesting I think you'll agree..

It would be interesting to know just how the Greenseal machine works and what converting an existing machine entails; is each machine different, therefore requiring a different set-up each time or are they all virtually the same? Anybody have an idea?

Not sure what the point is, explosive. If you travel backwards in time, you will fall off the peak if the momentum is too great? If you travel forward in time, you will have a heady ascent, followed by a much more gracious descent as gravity takes hold? Depends what the third dimensional view is, I suppose.

Another top up this morning - fruits of AZM again; now there's a nice chart. May need to start another doubling competition; got SEO cracking last time. Though may need best part of a year for SEO to get back to 30p.

I think it may be a bit earlier, Eric.
We are expecting (hoping for) RNS to say;
1) Asda contract is now over early problems and is accelerating
2) Details of WalMart, once they have been hammered out
3) The Takeaway stuff leading to contracts
4) The ciggy filter
5) JV contracts for manufacture of Starpol
and no looning bad news of which we are aware, such as patent rows, cash calls, dilutions etc.
All these RNS should be here over just the next few months and for me, if you perm any 3 from 5 you probably have your 30p SP.
There is always something we don't know about to spoil it though!

Alan: you spoilt a nice optimistic post with the footnote! The problem at the moment is uncertainty. So, you are right that potential RNSs will start putting flesh on the forecast bones (not chewable, SD). Once it breaks north from the trading channel, there is no real reason why it should stop before 28p. The key are the Green-Seal programme firmly established plus WalMart and the ground-breaking Starpol deal; 2 from 3, I say should bring 28p. Bit of sitting on the hands though. Probably best to take a 3-month sabbatical, probably the timeframe for getting cracking. Happy to top up in the meantime at the present price having decided the next move is north, beyond reasonable doubt! Still think AZM and DGT will double first!

One RNS we haven't touched on is the one regarding BioDegradable starch based golf balls. The idea is that it would rot down to nothing after a week or two in the rough so that lost balls don't damage the environment.
Rumour has it that they are to be trialled by Eric at this years MAM golf event, with all the balls he loses, but there is an issue with producing enough balls for a whole round of Erics with only 3 months notice.

Thanks, Al; why not join me in the trial; if not in the tribulation! Just bought some yellow balls today for a yellow ball competition; have had to remind competitor of the rule that you have a maximum of 5 mins to find a lost ball [double points for the player of the yellow ball, 10 points forfeited if you don't hand in at end]. Now the answer might be to put a meaty coating on it and take sd along as a sniffer!

I gotta confess to being an enthusiastic amateur. That is a polite way of saying I am lousy at the game.
I enjoy a round at my local par 68 municipal course in about 92 ish, but even then I haven't picked a golf club up in 2 years.
The professional there told me I needed to cut about 6 inches off each clubs shaft. When I asked if this would improve my swing, he said, no, but they would fit in the bin easier.
