THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

The problem is that someone might be evil based on bible, but good based on Hindo or a religion in Africa. That's probably why the law is different in different countries.
Someone mentioned about the law in Afghanistan earlier. That evil action allowed by their law!! People from there may do the same here as they think it is normal!! as they used to do regularly there.

At least we can now continue giving millions of wonga in foreign aid to India without having the problem of being accused of just using our foreign aid policy as a bribe (perish the thought) to obtain trade deals.

I bet we are the only country to continue to give such aid to countries that regularly put both fingers up, saying ---------------------.

Space left for self expression.

At least I can understand foreign aid as a bribe, if it works, but whats the use if it don't.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day.

Don't give a man a fish and don’t teach him to fish. Just feed yourself. He’s a grown man. Fishing’s not that hard.

Want to run a pub? but on "your" terms. Listen how to do it in about 5 minutes on R4. You and Yours. Very interesting.

The answer is 42!

Douglas Adams loved ideas, but hated writing, says Terry Jones

Monty Python star Terry Jones remembers his friend Douglas Adams, author of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, who would have been 60 this weekend.

"He was such a brilliant writer," says Terry Jones of his old friend and fellow real ale aficionado Douglas Adams.

Stan - its interesting to see the "Butchers Arms" described as the smallest Free house in England. I always thought "The Little Gem" was the smallest Free house in kent!
