required field - 14 Jul 2010 13:55

It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

Chris Carson - 14 Oct 2010 09:27 - 155 of 6918

LOL some wag has texted Liverpool Fc with a text, photograph of Hicks and Gillette in front of the Everton crest, arm in arm wearing Everton Fc ties. Love it! (BBC 24 hour news) :O)

I still think Germany are a very very good team and just got their tatics wrong in one game in the WC

required field - 14 Oct 2010 12:16 - 157 of 6918

Yes, they are excellent, they will be a force once again in the European finals....you can be a very good side and have no luck towards the latter stages of a tournament where you always need a little....the spanish had the good fortune that their goalkeeper just got a foot to what would have been a winner 4 minutes from the end for the dutch....so the best sides are Spain, Holland, and Germany in Europe.

Apparently the plaque under John Lennon's statue at Liverpool airport has been changed. It used to read "above us only sky" but now reads "below us only Wolves and West Ham".

required field - 14 Oct 2010 12:23 - 159 of 6918

Never thought I'd see Liverpool in the relegation zone.....

required field - 18 Oct 2010 11:22 - 160 of 6918

Why on earth don't they sell Torres for 90 million.....nuts....they are now a crap team, yet they hang on to players that are not worth their value...for that price...they could get 2 midfielders and 2 better defenders....

Chris Carson - 18 Oct 2010 11:23 - 161 of 6918

Obviously I am over the moon at the Merseyside Derby result. Hic! Liverpool's demise is a tonic to every Evertonian :O)

Pretty obvious there will be a mass clearout accross the park in January. The question is can Liverpool 2nd from bottom (How sweet the sound) and stuck with the players signed by 'The Fat Spanish Waiter' (Who incidentally was awarded for his noble efforts 5m and then walked into a top European managers job, you couldn't make it up.) escape the relegation zone, step forward the new benefactors (mugs) in order to pay off the contracts of the existing squad and replace them.

You have to question the mentality of SOME of the Liverpool fans calling for the head of the manager after eight games. Should have stayed at Fulham Roy is in an impossible position, hence his post match statement the gist being "Liverpool are playing well" Every credit he managed to utter those pearls of wisdom with a straight face. Anyone even with less than 20/20 vision or even partial vision with one eye could see Liverpool were, are shxte! He has to somehow motivate his players to get out of theire current position in order to wield the axe in January and allow the new owners (mugs) to provide the relevant funds to atract quality players. To admit they are crap would be suicide. What a ridiculous situation to be in!

At the last Liverpool home match the Kop, in their wisdom were chanting 'Dalgleish' The vast majority of whom were obviously not around in 1991 when he walked out having been knocked out of the FA Cup by guess who...Everton. Should have stayed at Fulham Roy needs those fans support now more than they realise.

Meanwhile back at Goodison thank goodness for David Moyes and a chairman (though skint) with a brain.

Good to see the Liverpool fans have'nt lost their sense of humour though. When the Everton fans were goading them with the inevatable chants of 'Going Down, Going Down' They responded with 'So Are We, So Are We' :O)

They need to give Roy more time.....I have to say even though I'm not one of their supporters....I'm a great admirer of the club.....the players have to pull their socks up and Gerrard is going to have to boss them around a bit !.

Dil - 19 Oct 2010 23:27 - 166 of 6918

Geez ramping Barca now RSI !

What a load of crap , bet less than 5% of each of those so called "fans" ever put a penny in the clubs coffers (excluding via sky sports subscriptions etc which per person would be miniscule anyway).

Joe Say - 20 Oct 2010 07:23 - 167 of 6918

too right Dil - its the usual marketing nonsense.

These guys really live on a totally different planet to the rest of us.

Joe Say - 20 Oct 2010 07:24 - 168 of 6918

and its far lesss than 5% anyway

Do the maths on my club 21.6m x 5% = 1.08 milliion - we average 44,000 and even though its not the same week in week out, its still a long way short of 1 million.

Dil - 20 Oct 2010 08:27 - 169 of 6918

You've got to take account of shirt sales , scarves etc so that would bring the figure a lot higher Joe but I admit that I was being more than generous when I said 5%.

required field - 20 Oct 2010 10:12 - 170 of 6918

I bet you that Rooney joins Barcelona.....

Chris Carson - 20 Oct 2010 10:17 - 171 of 6918

You have to think Man U will pull out all the stops to keep him first, without him they are donald ducked.

Dil - 20 Oct 2010 21:46 - 172 of 6918

10 more like Bale and Spurs would have walked it !

ptholden - 20 Oct 2010 21:52 - 173 of 6918

10 more like Bale and Wales would have half a team Dil!

Seriously though, Gareth Bale is a fantastic player, bit like me in my youth :-)

HARRYCAT - 20 Oct 2010 21:59 - 174 of 6918

If only he was english! Sorry, but no chance of getting to the top playing for Wales.
