EMF divests from Coffeeheaven investment

Empik Media Fashion (EMF), a leading fashion brand operator in Poland, has divested its entire 9.5% stake in Coffeeheaven International, the company which manages the largest coffee bar chain on the Polish market.
When embarking upon the investment EMF had intended to increase its initial stake in the coffee company to at least 30% but because of its fragmented shareholder structure this was not, however, possible. Katarzyna Gorecka, the communication director at EMF, told Retail Update Poland: As we could not hold a significant stake in the target and influence the companys management, we decided to abandon the investment.
Three caf bearing the Coffeeheaven logo which opened in Empik bookstores will be now re-named and included in the chain of 17 Empik Cafbars currently active in some bookshops. A few new coffee bars bearing the Empik name are expected to open this year, with further launches planned for 2008.

A bright and vivacious take on the Starbucks theme only much better than the original. The best place in the city for coffee, cakes, smoothies, sandwiches and wraps, though the ordering system, pay at one counter, wait for your winnings at another, has a habit of descending into farce.

beemer2 - 03 Jul 2007 15:36 - 1564 of 2037

At this rate we could be back to 50p before results...

AdieH - 03 Jul 2007 16:03 - 1565 of 2037

Be interesting when results come out and hopefully an update on who has increased their holding... I hope you other chaps have squelched a certain person as you know it makes sense and makes for a great piece of mind... : - )

David10B - 03 Jul 2007 16:13 - 1566 of 2037

Squelching only makes sense to rampers that do not want the truth about the mismangement of COH.

No wonder Worthingtom was quiet on the EMPIK deal-

Now all they have to do is to copy the COH style and clean up.

Bye bye COH they could not make a profit with EMPIK now loses are sure to mount.

David10B - 03 Jul 2007 16:21 - 1567 of 2037

How will COH and Snack Attack split the loot they make. Mr Worthington is slow slow with his RNS, while shareholders panic and sell.

Meanwhile here is some more---competitive---news to worry about AS PRIME SITES BECOME LIKE ROCKING HORSE POOOHHH:-

May 22, Coffee Republic, one of the best-known coffee chains in the UK, has closed a master franchise contract with Kruss Holdings, which operates in Romanian real estate and retail, with a view to entering the local market.

Coffee Republic, one of the best-known coffee chains in the UK, has closed a master franchise contract with Kruss Holdings, which operates in Romanian real estate and retail, with a view to entering the local market. The agreement would allow Kruss Holdings to open both coffee shops in Romania, and to grant franchise rights to other operators, reads the Internet publication TMCnet.com. "Romania's recent accession to the European Union gives us confidence that we can benefit from an expected sustained economic growth," said Salim Thava, CEO of Kruss Holdings. A third such transaction for the British company, the sale of the Coffee Republic franchise rights for Romania, is part of the strategy of the British company to concentrate on developing Eastern European markets.

The company's first international franchise will be opened in Bulgaria in July of this year. Numerous international coffee shop operators have rushed onto the local market over the past year. Costa Cafe, another British chain, entered the local market at the end of 2006, Starbucks opened its first coffee shop in Eastern Europe, in Bucharest, a month ago, and the opening of a Hard Rock cafe, held by an American chain, is projected to take place in the second half of this year. AH

Have you any predictions on the future SP...

ptholden - 03 Jul 2007 16:35 - 1569 of 2037

Problem is Adie, by squelching Thrush you are unable to counter his increasingly desperate posts whcih I'm afraid are interlaced with more and more lies. I'm sure the loss of 3 EMPIK coffee outlets must come as a grevious blow to COH management - oh dear, disaster strikes and of course the market agrees because the SP is sinking like a stone. Err not, silly me, it seems to be going up!

Apparently according to Thrush, shareholders are panicking and selling, of course this is obvious from the performance of the SP which is sinking like a stone. Err not, seems to be up a touch again today.

Now where's that village telephone number, they really must want their idiot back - LoL

AdieH - 03 Jul 2007 17:25 - 1570 of 2037

Been going on for some time ptholden and he won't go away... we've exposed him for what he is and most people would have got the message and gone away... For the sake of the thread would ask people to sqelch him. We as investors are happy with what's happened so far lets hope (well its more than hope most of us have done some research)... more... Regards.

David10B - 03 Jul 2007 18:48 - 1571 of 2037

Come come came gentlemen you insane remarks prompts a reply.

Firsly show me just one, just one lie, even an itsybitsy little white lie that I have ever posted about COH---there as none so you cant.

For the SP of COH to be rising it would have to be over 50p, past its last high.

COH should be shaking over the loss of EMPIK outlets as EMPIK will now not stand still, and therefore its not about the three stores that COH lost, it is, as any asute business person would tell you, all about the ones they will not be getting.

As for the panic selling well over 400000 sold today.

So Adieh YOU HAVE EXPOSED ME FOR WHAT I AM---WELL SIR PLEASE TELL US OF YOUR EXPOSE CERTAINLY YOU ARE NOT GOMNG TO CALL ME A RAMPER OF COH---ARE YOU?

So pthy where exactly are the lies? I note you have a propensity of going quiet when cornered.

ptholden - 03 Jul 2007 19:23 - 1572 of 2037

Actually Thrush I have a propensity for ignoring you mostly. Generally speaking you are not worth the trouble of a debate, mainly because your agenda is clear and nothing I or others say will make you see any kind of common sense. You are obviously quite demented where Worthington is concerned, which I have to say keeps me quite amused.

Anyway, your latest lies concerns the 'panic selling'. Please let me know where you arrive at the figure of 400,000 sold today, now be careful, because you may well make yourself look rather stupid here. Incidentally, using your logic, there were some 361,000 buys, does that constitute panic buying?

By the way, did you once post as 'Jim10b' on another BB? Seems some think you have, oh and 'Waxman' seems to have cropped up as well.
