Galleon Holdings (GON)

banjomick - 15 Jun 2004 08:48

INTELLIGENT INVESTING WITH BANJO,well sort of! (Ed-hmmmm-lol)

Galleon Holdings plc has three key divisions:Galleon Entertainment for entertainment type IP,Croco Worldwide for product IP,Phoenix for interactive TV services for broadcasters in China/South East Asia which includes Robot Information Technology (Lushy Assets ('Yunbo')) who are a wireless interactive platform service provider in China who will work alongside Phoenix to enable GON to hold on to a greater part of the generated revenue and so increase the profit margin......think that's the plan! :-)

This makes Galleon Holdings a 'One Stop Shop' to develop and complete new and existing IP's.

FY sales surge at Galleon

19/01/2009

Entertainment media firm that co-produced the Chinese TV show Super Soccer Star Galleon posted a sharp increase in half year revenue and revealed a pre-tax profit.

For the year ended 30 September adjusted profit before tax came in at 861,000 compared to an adjusted loss before tax of 167,000 the year before. Revenue for the period rose 170% to 12.1m after a strong performance in China and South East Asia.

Commenting in today's company statement, chairman David Wong said, "The multi-platform entertainment infrastructure established in China and South East Asia, including the acquisition of Yunbo in February, is now the 10th largest mobile service provider in China."

He added, "There are many exciting properties in our pipeline to be exploited during 2009 and beyond, which will see us continue to develop our presence in China, South East Asia and the rest of the of the world. We look forward to another year of growth."

"This year has seen us develop business relationships with some of the key media
players other than the TV stations. This includes the larger online media players in
the China marketplace, like the portal QQ. Online portals in China have a reach of
hundreds of millions of online users and can potentially be a major channel for
distribution and revenue generation in the future. We also have a strong working
relationship with China Mobile the largest mobile phone operator."

The above is taken from the recent Results and below are some links providing information on QQ which I believe is owned by 'Tencent':

Also from the recent Results:

"China provides a solid base from which we can launch our MEPs globally and we will
continue to pursue and develop this strategy during 2009. With this in mind we have begun discussions with some of the larger Chinese broadcasters about strategic codevelopment and production relationships that will enable us to accelerate the roll out cycle. In particular we are developing a relationship with Hunan Satellite Channel, one of the leading entertainment channels, with national coverage reaching more than 400 million homes. The first show that we are working on with them will broadcast over Chinese New Year and we are in discussions about a second show."

banjomick - 24 Jan 2009 12:01 - 1562 of 1609

Outlook

"2008 was a transforming year for Galleon and we look forward to another exciting year ahead. Media in China is set to grow further in 2009 particularly in TV advertising, mobile and online. We believe that this will continue to create revenues for entertainment that is successfully distributed across these various platforms throughout 2009.

We have a proven infrastructure in China giving us access to TV, online, mobile and retail channels. We will continue to drive revenues from this growth market by developing new global MEPs with Chinese partners or by facilitating access to this territory for Western brand owners. We will be replicating this network and executing the same model in South East Asia and the rest of the world leading the way with the roll-out of Super Soccer Star as a brand.

With a working model and operational network established in a growing marketplace the Group has the opportunity in 2009 to secure significant, additional long term revenue streams. We continue to look at strategic partnerships and acquisitions in these areas to further consolidate our unique position in the global media marketplace."

The above is also taken from the recent Results,so all in all it looks like being a very exciting 2009!

As always this is all in my opinion so please do your own research ect ect ect

banjomick - 25 Jan 2009 23:20 - 1563 of 1609

It will be very interesting this year to see if Sokator-442 does eventually get off the ground, the link with SSS as stated below (from Results)holds water as they say......

Sokator - 442, a multi-platform science fiction entertainment property, has been
launched as a global multi-platform universal persistent interactive game ("MUPIG").
As well as being marketed through online gaming channels the platform will benefit
from the added exposure of cross promotion with Super Soccer Star as it is rolled
out around the world.

A little bit of background on Sokator-442 can be found from the link below:

Anyway,as is always the case with GON there are much bigger things going on but the above could be a huge success or just classed as added value if it materialises.

Its about a regular kid who was left on the doorstep of a haunted castle when he was a baby. There was a note attached that read Please take care of baby Dave. Monsters cannot refuse the word please, because its the magic word. So, now Dave is 11 and goes to school in town (Mt. Savage, Pa.) and leads a pretty normal life, except that he lives with monsters. Its a relationship comedy shot documentary style which means that theres a confessional where the characters get to comment on whats happening in a episode.

Spook House Dave is scheduled to launch in late January of 2009. The clip introduces the characters as they sing a modified version of a well-known Christmas Carol.

banjomick - 27 Jan 2009 11:05 - 1571 of 1609

Morning fisherboy,

Well, there does appear to be a lot going on with the ever expanding GON! Not a lot of interest trade wise though, which is a shame.

banjomick - 27 Jan 2009 17:06 - 1572 of 1609

famous last words-lol

banjomick - 28 Jan 2009 22:35 - 1573 of 1609

banjomick - 07 Feb 2009 10:52 - 1574 of 1609

Hmmmmm,I see the GON management have finally got off their collective arses and had their website updated as of yesterday/today with their Final Results which were out on the 19th January.

They put the heading of 'Final Results' on their website but posted the 'Notice of Results' announcement within and it's taken them this long to notice and update this blatant error!!!!!!!

I'm still holding and I'll see what happens and how GON progress as I'm sure they will do very well but whether share holders will see the full value is my main concern.

Whinge over :-)

chamcham - 09 Feb 2009 09:14 - 1575 of 1609

Banj

totally agrree with the "will the shareholders see full value is my concern".

The yunbo deal is a killer

banjomick - 09 Feb 2009 10:01 - 1576 of 1609

Morning cc,

Yes,it all looks good as usual. It's not really the Yunbo deal that concerns me but GON as a whole and where it's leading regarding share holder value.

I may be looking at it all too negatively, which will be a first since about three years ago which in itself is no bad thing.

As I said still holding as anything can happen in the AIM :-)

chamcham - 09 Feb 2009 16:47 - 1577 of 1609

Yes

If a small number of buys sends it up and a small number crash it down
the shares are pretty much worthless if you need cash today.
I will not be buying anymore Galleon and am only looking to downsize above 50p.

The 50p mark is probably way out of reach but we may get a big shock
oneday and find that the shares are in demand.

banjomick - 09 Feb 2009 17:33 - 1578 of 1609

CC,
I think I'm more confused now.... :-)
