Had nearer Christmas in mind.
By the way, I have the same problem as Stan recently reporterd getting the UK-Wire link to work properly. It occasionally does so, but 95% of the time it doesn't. Going direct to UK-Wire in a separate window is no better. I don't know if there is a registration issue with UK-Wire but I've never seen mention of it. I get it now on the AOL home page. It might be an ISP quirk.

Going to look to-morrow for the Balti restaurant for the next meeting(party) (I will wear a frock and beard) on the Wednesday 14th of December.
Probably, Stoney Lane area after meeting at The Anchor.
Do I look for a restaurant which has table-cloths and chairs or one with Formica tables and stools?
I suppose you boys will want one with a licence?
I will update to-morrow.

Thanks Kivver May have a look. Had a fruitless tour of the high light areas of Birmingham this am. looking for Asian restaurants I use to frequent.
4-5 places have disappeared (possibly condemned), two have are now selling Italian food.
I think China has secretly invaded Birmingham.
Have been instructed to have a look at another Asian restaurant in Ladypool Road.
What is opinion of a Chinese as we will be backing onto China Town?

Any Brummies around here recommend a good eating house around China town....or just as Importantly warn us of any one's to avoid. A no smoker would be good as well.

chung ying garden and chung ying are fab but more expensive, the big wok is slighty less expensive also do a nice buffet. all very nice. my fav is 'tin tins' which is a bit further away just off broad street at brindley place but all very good. good curry house in the centre of town are harder to find.

I think Broad Street might be on the more expensive side and a bit further away but will put It on the list, thanks both.

Cheers Ian, thats what brum has to offer nowadays, good pubs/clubs, eating houses, theatres and generally a good atmosphere and time. Pity im now in the age range where most are younger lol. Brum has done a lot to improve over the last 15 years and is now a top city. pity about my football team who got beat by West Ham last night.

couldn't agree with you more - I remember it as a desperate 70's city, then it was all change when I was working there for Schwab - the redevelopment around brindley place was excellent
