ASOS have dropped quite significantly in the past week for no particular reason and I view this as the perfect opportunity to invest as I can see them bouncing right back up to the 5.50p mark in the next 2-3 weeks. STRONG BUY!!

ASOS mentioned in weekend FT. Reiteration of trading update, but confirming the switch from, " the Highway to the Super Highway".

Oh that's all we need - Dil and his blatant de-ramping. Please, other long-term holders of ASC and contributors to this thread, don't listen to the man. He has an agenda and will slag off the share without backing up his comments, just as above.

The fact is that there was nothing to back up the comment made by dil. I love to hear the contrarian view, which is very useful to assess a company... but if it's just a one liner like that then it's a complete waste of time in my opinion.

I ask the same question as kivver - why do you think this is a disaster waiting to happen?

Dil did qualify his statement with, imo, so who cares??????? And looking at the bprg chart it doesnt take a lot of grey matter to see the trend was down since last October, I wonder if he made his predictions before that in July/August ???SD

so are you saying by looking at the bprg chart in aug you knew it was going to double in price over the next 2 and half months and the subsequent fall since. The point im making is at the time during that rise and everybody buying and very excited about it dil warned it was disater waiting to happen and he was proved right.

Im sure he will give his reasons for thinking the same about asc. At the moment i'm very positive about asc. More registered users, big increase in people using the internet to shop, this market is one the last to be hit by any slow down in the economy, new warehouse will solve supply problems (increase profits too) and im sure there are many other positives too.

So what - nicely moved up today continuing its break north of the 200dma. There is now nothing stopping it moving back up to the 80-90 range. Also, looking back at my own posts immedaitely after the results, there is no reason to sell and lots to look forward to.

There are a fair few other penny stocks around that may do better than ASC between now and Xmas, but since we all need to spread our risk and we know ASC well by now, the 75% rise I'm looking for should not be sniffed at in favour of yet to be discovered, researched and tested better performers.

Looking forward another year, a first dividend is always something to stir the cockles, as institutional investors and other more cautious PI's start to join the throng.

Dil - please list the likely calamities that can befall this share over the next 6 months. It would be instructive for all of us to be aware of what we may have missed in our own research.

Maybe the populace will rush back to the high street in defiance of the bombs, forsaking the internet as a coward's charter.

Perhaps the new warehouse will be too big.

Maybe fashion will go out of fashion.

It's pretty scary out there and I think we have a right to know what it is we're meant to be scared of.

I to am very positive about ASC just by drawing simple trend lines, support and resistance and indicators. The same could be applied to bprg but alas with hindsight. I set a great store on trendlines as they determine entry and exit points for me. I hope that dil does let us have his reasons for being so bearish. SD

Seadog - i must admit i know little of trend lines and all that and to be honest cant be bothered to find out (some might that suprising). All i want to know is the fundamentals of the business, how much money is going to come in and how much going out, how long to/are they making a profit, how much do they owe, where will the growth come from, and does the market like it, which i suppose a share graph will show.

Would you do me a favour and use your skills and tell me what you think of SIN ( a company i know little about but graph looking good). I will start new thread.

ASC chart is looking rather 'toppy', would expect something of a retracement now before the next leg. Closed my spreadbet yesterday, although still retain a core holding for the longer term.

My main holding remains intact, but the SB was well in profit. A profit is a profit as they say and it's in the bank. If it continues to rise I still win, if it dips I will have another opportunity to open a SB or perhaps CFD position. Very happy with ASC prospects, hence hanging onto the main holding.

Hi folk! Back home and hoping to get back into action. Been quite happy watching ASC (and DGT) rise the last two or three weeks. Took some profit on ASC CFDs (some 10%) as I always seem to need some cash these days. I could hardly be more confident than I am with ASC now and happy to dismiss Dil's comments - his views often make sense but not this time. I am more of a fundamentalist like Kivver but I do see the charts as picking up last year's rise. I'm with John Marshall all the way - usually am, although he made an awful bloomer with DGT. But he has a stake in ASC, knows them well and always keeps in touch with the companies he holds; he beleives Seymour Pierce are too cutious in their projections. There is a resistance level in the 80s and more positive news will be needed to break through that level. It should certainly happen with Xmas trading as that wise old dog sd says. I am looking for a movement in anticipation of Xmas trading based on the next quarters trading statement; if the year on year sales are still tracking 100% up on last year then the analysts are going to take that projection into Xmas trading; remember too that margins were down last year so increased sales will work through too profits. Accept that ASOS is out of fashion but I believe it will attract more interest from larger investors. Worth topping up to an overweight position.
