rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.
for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ
for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

I'm not sure where the FTSE gain is coming from this morning - not many heavyweights up SAB,IMT & BATS.

FTSE should track the range I think, so outside the lines without conviction of a breakout its a game on play in my eyes.

Celibacy can be a choice in life, or a condition imposed by circumstances.
While attending a Marriage Weekend, my wife, Irene, and I listened to the instructor declare, "It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other."
He then addressed the men: "Can you name and describe your wife's favourite flower?" I leaned over, touched Irene's hand gently and whispered, "Self-raising, isn't it?"
And thus began my life of celibacy.

LONDON, May 23 (Reuters) - The following FTSE 100 .FTSE companies will go ex-dividend on Wednesday, after which investors will no longer qualify for the latest dividend payout. I was straight on WTB also, maybe another nice Provident earner. Chart doesn't look so good though, maybe have a look at Inchcape later.
