rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

Not a clue, only came accross it after reading the BBC article which I though was good and decided to post here as a potential short play.

Affraid not, I'm looking at the loss right now (good job it was a small bet) and it has wiped out my realised profit today and is sat on quite alot of margin also. Fingers crossed Wall St crashes later.

6872.5 closed @ 6863.3 for +9.2, it was a large short and I'll wait and see if it returns.
