THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

So, there should be a threshold for each issue. In my opinion, when the threshold is passed, the rule should be harsh.

In the case of murderers and people like Abu Hamza, the threshold is passed and Human Right should not be used (misused) to save them. Instead of paying these guys to continue destruction, we should use the money to help real human (normal people) to service the country.

Abu hamzah should go to his country to serve his people. Clearly, these guys do more harm than good.

what you all forget is the most immportant part

Because their life and prospects seems too anxiety laden, or miserable to be tolerated without escape, or temporary release.

Tanker,

An American soldier has just kill a number of children a adults in Afghanistan.

All Americans should be sent home to be tortured to get information out of them (even if they don't have any) then hung drawn and quartered.

After that their families should be rounded up and kept in prisons as suspects of something or other.

That would really sort the blighters out.

We are getting too B. Soft in this country.

Lets go back to public flogging and hanging.

Vote for XXXXXXXXXXXXXX. they will sort it out.

TANKER - 23 Mar 2012 10:13 - 15726 of 81564

fred hang him

ahoj - 23 Mar 2012 10:29 - 15727 of 81564

Thanker,
The tropes should be sent back home, but the soldier should be punished too.

I am sure he was under pressure seeing Afghans killing his friends, but that does not justify his action.

Americans do not understand that burning Quran was the worst damaging action they could do. The killing triggered further after that.

TANKER - 23 Mar 2012 10:54 - 15730 of 81564

I have said many times we should not be there if they want to kill each other so be it .
who cares about these sub humans if they act like sub humans i do not
pull the troops out now and man our borders and kick out all the illegals
and also those that do not live by our rules and laws .

MN,

The main reason for these problems is the lack of knowledge about their culture, and belief.

It is important to understand people BEFORE trying to help them. It does not matter what I or you think about something, e.g. papers and texts, it is their belief which cause reactions/confusion and waste of resources.

All the problems is caused by the lack of understanding their culture and acting based on the western culture and criteria in the countries like Afghanistan and Iraq, Palestine, etc.

In fact, that's why US failed to succeed in many countries and wasted all its resources.

Fred1new - 23 Mar 2012 12:13 - 15732 of 81564

It is often not cultural differences but often the disrespect of the validity of another which is the problem.

That is elitism or arrogance which provokes problems.

ahoj - 23 Mar 2012 12:22 - 15733 of 81564

Fred,

Absolutely agree with your statement. I think we are talking about the same thing, mis-interpretation of cultures and lack of respect cause retaliation and arrogance resulting in the problems we are facing in those countries.

We should keep distance from internal affairs as much as possible and just help democracy to develop smoothly rather than forcing it. Their democracy cannot be exactly the same as ours, at least in short term.

Fred1new - 23 Mar 2012 12:33 - 15735 of 81564

Looking at "OUR DEMOCRACY" I don't think that it is at the pinacle of the world, or at least hope it isn't.

Culture, umhh, I think I see many a culture which is more appealing than ours at the present time.

Driven by greed and unsustainable goals at the expense of each others.

Encouragement to the public to go out and spend on what is often unnecessary, unrewarding and plunge many into larger and larger debt, but driving the market up.

Actually, driving more and more "profit" into the hands of those who have more than adequate already and have no real use for the "fresh" money and little thought of altruism in the functioning.

Be careful what you wish on others.

I am going out.
