THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

the BBC is the most BIASED OF ALL THE WORLD MEDIA
a disgrace

ahoj - 23 Mar 2012 14:27 - 15743 of 81564

I think internet and companies like linked-in, Facebook, google, etc help a lot.
But TV and radio are more important.

Put him out.

Tanker,

How many of the overseas news services do you observe and how many languages do you speak???

---------
Ahoj,

I am the most unbiased person I know.

I would be a perfect agent for filtering the news information and disseminating it to lesser mortals.

You know those S. Bs who vote for any party, or has policies I disagree with.

Mind I would need a fee, which would not be disclosed, and also positions on the board for family members.

========================

Just as matter of information, how many members of the cabinet deposited funds and cash in overseas accounts and companies before the last elections?

Cayman Isles.

Has Aschroft paid his taxes?

How many transferred shares and "jobs" to their partners since, or within a two year period before the last election?

Is it tax avoidance or evasion as Osborne seems to suggest?

Is it reprehensible, with the new found tory morality?

I know some think it stinks.

======

Another interest to me, is why Cameron in such a hurry to get Salmond to have the referendum on Scottish devolution.

If he is so certain about his position it shouldn't matter when it is held.

Perhaps, he doesn't want to be PM who broke up the UK.

Strange, when you consider how fragmenting his policies and PR are to society.

Mind he has got time for another 20 or 30 policies.

Perhaps, he will learn to think before he leaps of the cliff.

Fred1new - 23 Mar 2012 15:30 - 15748 of 81564

PS.

Going out in the garden for a while!

skinny - 23 Mar 2012 15:32 - 15749 of 81564

Ok Captain Oates - well it is Friday :-)

TANKER - 23 Mar 2012 15:34 - 15750 of 81564

it is hard to find 6

MightyMicro - 23 Mar 2012 15:38 - 15751 of 81564

The only person trying to break up the UK is Alex Salmond, whose only concern is his place in the history books.

TANKER - 23 Mar 2012 15:41 - 15752 of 81564

he will not get the win the voters will shut him down
i haverelations in scotland and they are all againts it

Fred1new - 23 Mar 2012 15:48 - 15753 of 81564

Tanker,

Apologies.

For policies I meant U-turns.

=================
What a mentor to Young tories.

Do they have their garden parties still.

I can remember being dragged along to their parties, tombola and white elephant sales when I was a kid.

Some of the cakes were OK.

Perhaps, they could auction Dave and George effigies.

Fred is the fisherman of this thread; he puts bait on his hook with the intention of destroying what he catches.

TANKER - 23 Mar 2012 16:18 - 15756 of 81564

fred makes the day pass with a bit of amusement and it is nice

Fred1new - 23 Mar 2012 16:27 - 15757 of 81564

Tim.

Only fish for Trout and the very occasional Salmon.

But surprised by what I catch sometimes catch with a flier.

Many many years ago, had a friend who used calcium carbide, thought it quicker.

Bullingdon Club

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

“The symbol of the Bullingdon Club

The Bullingdon Club is a socially exclusive student dining club at Oxford University. The club has no permanent rooms and is notorious for its members' wealth and destructive binges. [1] Membership is by invitation only, and prohibitively expensive for most, given the need to pay for the uniform, dinners and damages.[2]”

I wonder if some can still afford the pleasures they previously partook of. Especially on their depleted salaries while they are now in government.

Not like the drunken beer, lager and drug taking louts on a Friday and Saturday night in the centres of towns.

Mind it seems to me, this government is changing this country into a banana republic, with politically appointed police chiefs and mayors, with the possibility of manipulation from the Cayman Isles

Interesting news about how it is said business now has to pay to influence tory party, or government policies.

(Party funds, depleted?)

Never would have guessed that.

Imagine a dinner with Cameron and Osborne in privacy, doesn’t have much appeal to me.

(I probably would be a waiter. With a little bit of luck could be the Chef.)
I wonder what is on the menu.

-------------------------------------------------

Another interest this weekend for me was the comment by somebody called Maud that he doesn’t pay the highest rate of tax.

(Mind, you are all in it together.)

I think it would be interesting to see the last 5 years of the accounts of the present cabinet and how, or if, they have divested their “incomes” prior and after being elected.

We wouldn’t want tax dodgers in the cabinet, especially with the moral stance of the present PM, and some individuals do seem to have their close dining “friends” in the business world.

Also, I think the sewers in Downing Street should be regularly inspected, as there seems to be a stench of rot and decay coming from there.

Perhaps, that is where they buried the bodies" !
