I have it on very good authority that Howard posts on here under the screen-name blinger.
Just you watch for how super informed those posts are and you'll see what I mean.

Dawall

The reason why I raised the subject on this board is because EVO's latest broker's note on SEO mentioned the possibility of one division being floated separately and I thought it would be useful to fill some of the time while we wait for hopefully good news to discuss it.

The oily one

hewittalan6 - 31 Mar 2006 15:52 - 15798 of 27111

The next news will be good, Oily.
It's just how long are we prepared to wait?
12 months ago we were all saying how this one would be a good one to stick in the bottom drawer and forget about till we were old and needed the money. Now the board is full of people moaning that its not megabucks now.
I am more confident in the long term prospects for this than I have been since I bought the damn thing.
But you're right. Its fun to have a debate, even when there's nothing to debate.

It's good to debate nothing sometimes, then nobody gets upset and nothing bad ever comes of it (or good). I've got nothing else to say really.

Oily Hi,

Thought your top post read a bit strange. Proves how easy it is to miss one very small bit in a post that puts completely the opposite slant to what was intended. Nice to see that although the following posts disagreed with you ( on the splitting up ) no one had a personal dig.
These threads have gone back to being a great read.
Cheers Greek

Oily,

It wasn't EVO's broker note that suggested a split was on the cards ( i'd take it more seriously if it had been).

It was the article on proactiveinvestors

http://www.proactiveinvestors.com

I'd still like to know what they call 'Frogpack' in France - doesn't anyone know?

robinhood - 31 Mar 2006 17:09 - 15802 of 27111

Oblomov, frogpack in France is marketed as "sack de Grenouille"

hewittalan6 - 31 Mar 2006 17:09 - 15803 of 27111

Frogpack in france?
"The First Course"?
"Food by Post"?
"Nouvelle Cuisine"?

I'll get me coat.

Hello once again,

I have a feeling news will arrive early next week, how about you ?

There is only so long that shareholders in Stanelco are held on tenterhooks before news is forthcoming, and it feels like about the right time to me :)

stockdog - 31 Mar 2006 17:30 - 15805 of 27111

oblamov - at least if they split B & Q we'd know what to call the two new entities!

oblomov - 31 Mar 2006 17:37 - 15806 of 27111

Yes stockdog - and the second name would be very apt, in my experience!

hewittalan6 - 31 Mar 2006 17:46 - 15807 of 27111

Imagine the fallout over which company got the "&" part.

hewittalan6 - 31 Mar 2006 17:48 - 15808 of 27111

That always bothered me about the break up of czechoslovakia.
People went on and on about the plight of the czechs and of the slovaks. No one gave a damn what happened to the poor "o"s.

stockdog - 31 Mar 2006 18:29 - 15809 of 27111

or the even poorer ia's

kimoldfield - 31 Mar 2006 19:32 - 15810 of 27111

In France the Frog pack is called:-

Boe de houblonnage. (Hopping box)

Oilywag - 31 Mar 2006 19:32 - 15811 of 27111

I want news to arrive on the 6th April so that I can get some of my shares put into my new ISA.

The oily one

kimoldfield - 31 Mar 2006 19:46 - 15812 of 27111

I cannot substantiate this but I understand that France's biggest condom manufacturer is using Frogpack for it's products....it is to supply the need for the weekend Frog's legover.
kim

kimoldfield - 31 Mar 2006 19:54 - 15813 of 27111

No need to worry about the "o"s and "ia"s from Czechoslovakia they are now gainfully employed throughout the world acting as sun bed protector attendants for the Germans. Anybody who can work that out has not had enough weekend alcohol yet...hmm or maybe too much already.

kimoldfield - 31 Mar 2006 19:55 - 15814 of 27111

Oily
I just want news to arrive!

After some intensive research I have ascertained that SEO are using the name Frogpack in France for biodegradable coffins.
