THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

I will try to get Whyte's book.

------------------------------

Regarding France and Germany.

I think the unity of Europe is important to both countries and with this goes the acceptance of differences in cultures.

Merkel and Sarkosy sees Germany's and Frances future in an politically united Europe. Both for slightly different reasons.

They also see their own advancement as dependant on the unity of Europe as a whole and while considering their own needs in negotiation also make those judgements on the strength of "Europe" as a whole.

Britain, or the little englanders are insular and to many Europeans are self interested, if necessary at the expense of others.

I am not sure of the support for the Eurozone in Wales, Scotland and Ireland, but would expect it to be higher than in England.

One reason, some in Scotland may wish to escape from England's dominance.

----------------------------
Germany's economy has the advantages of the reorganisation and work force and working relations and management after WW2.

There is less "class" conflict in relationships.

The "work forces" are more involvedin the decision making in development of large business or industrial projects.

I.e, greater harmony than the "divide an rule" approaches often seen in Britain.

I've just bought some 1st class stamps from Superdrug. They are selling them with a 5% discount - plus of course the saving on the impending increase.

It took approximately 13 years for the public and media to turn against the Labour government.

Congratulation to Dodgy Dave and Pasty George, they have managed to do it within their first two.

Haven't heard so many people saying it is time for them to go.

Economic figures support the call for resignation of this incompetent inept elitist hierarchy.

Only problem I see the alternative of Labour is only marginally better.

===============

I don't intend to be ageist, but would like to see a few more individuals at the head of various political parties with more grey hair, experience and political louse than is showing at present.

They may think a little ahead of the game and have longer term views and not grab at headlines and dither so much.
