the guardian clearly thinks farm subsidies and similar should be means tested in some way
i doubt that the duke of westminster's tenants would agree, nor those in the duchy of cornwall or anywhere else similar

cynic I believe GF was using the D of W as an example of just one of the hordes of well heeled Landed Gentry who are in receipt of subsidies.
