Hello again,
I have nicked this from Pauls discussion forum, as it is so good :)
Wal-Mart "even if it costs more show it to us"
Wal-Mart delivered a strong message to it's suppliers during the Sustainable Packaging Forum that differed in tone from past communications from the company:
"If you have a product that costs more but is better for the environment, don't be afraid to show it to us" Said Matt Kistler, Sam's Club/Wal*Mart Stores VP/product development and packaging, during a Q&A period at the event. "Are we thinking more about other areas and other opportunities? absolutely".
The follow up question to Kistler by Packaging Strategies director David luttenburger, "Have you communicated that to Wal*Mart's buyers?" brought a round of applause from the more than 200 people in the room.
According to Kistler "Wal*Mart is planning a changeover in many products in it's stores while focusing on a three pronged, sustainable approach to packaged consumer products":
Reducing the size of the package
Replacing the materials with more natural substances
Selling products that can easily be recycled

For those that are truly interested in what sustainable packaging should be aiming to achieve, it is this
"A WORKING DEFINITION OF SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING"
The Sustainable Packaging Forum was the venue for the first public reading of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) of its newly penned definitions of sustainable packaging.
SPC director Anne Johnson indicated that the definitions are a part of an evolving living document. They will change as time goes one. Today these definitions form a common framework for companies to pursue strategies of sustainable materials and systems.
Sustainable Packaging:-
is beneficial, safe, and healthy for individuals and communities throughout its life cycle.
meets market criteria for performance and cost
is sourced, manufactured, transported and recycled using renewal energy
is manufactured using clean production technologies and best practices
is made from materials healthy in all probable end-of-life scenarios
is physically designed to optimise materials and energy
is effectively recovered and utilised in biological and/or industrial cradle-to-cradle cycles.
The SPCs Vision for Sustainable Packaging and comprehensive Definitions for Sustainable Packaging can be viewed at www.sustainablepackaging.org
And it is when I see material like the above, that it strengthens the faith I have in the potential of SEO's products. Lets hope the management is as good, or even better!

Is my memory for the week correct and has there been a 500 000 buy towards the end of each day this week and after close on some? Think I recall 2 in one day. Does anyone know if this is likely to be a single big buyer accumulating at lower prices?

Chemicals in plastics harming unborn boys
Scientists say chemicals have gender bending effect
Ian Sample, science correspondent
Friday May 27, 2005
The Guardian
Scientists in America have found the first evidence that common chemicals used in products as diverse as cosmetics, toys, CLINGFILM and PLASTIC BAGS may harm the development of unborn baby boys.
Researchers have long known that high levels of substances called phthalates have gender-bending effects on male animals, making them more feminine and leading to poor sperm quality and infertility. The new study suggests that even normal levels of phthalates, which are ubiquitous, can disrupt the development of male babies' reproductive organs.

I dream of the day when the MM's spread on the share is as great as the current ask price with no more than a 5% margin.
Maybe with the next RNS.
You should try some of these mushrooms I've been gorging myself on today!

T&G is on the Stanelco PLC website, Investor Relations section.
Also the statements in the Annual Report should get the SP moving a bit, get a copy and blast it round to a few friends and aquaintances, before we hit the big time :)

Thank you for your email.
The Annual Report will be posted on our website by close of play tomorrow.
