Chemicals in plastics harming unborn boys

Scientists say chemicals have gender bending effect

Ian Sample, science correspondent
Friday May 27, 2005
The Guardian

Scientists in America have found the first evidence that common chemicals used in products as diverse as cosmetics, toys, CLINGFILM and PLASTIC BAGS may harm the development of unborn baby boys.
Researchers have long known that high levels of substances called phthalates have gender-bending effects on male animals, making them more feminine and leading to poor sperm quality and infertility. The new study suggests that even normal levels of phthalates, which are ubiquitous, can disrupt the development of male babies' reproductive organs.

Not another RNS

garyble - 10 Apr 2006 15:28 - 15953 of 27111

I get the distinct impression that they're teasing!!

kimoldfield - 10 Apr 2006 15:33 - 15954 of 27111

No, they are putting in a bit of practice before THE BIG ONE!

hewittalan6 - 10 Apr 2006 15:34 - 15955 of 27111

I did forecast an RNS for today.......................just not that one!!!!!!!!

garyble - 10 Apr 2006 15:40 - 15956 of 27111

Well maybe third time lucky eh?

Oilywag - 10 Apr 2006 18:25 - 15957 of 27111

I dream of the day when the MM's spread on the share is as great as the current ask price with no more than a 5% margin.

Maybe with the next RNS.

You should try some of these mushrooms I've been gorging myself on today!

With truly psychadelic chuckles.

Oh, allright then, the RNS delivered in April 2009.

ssanebs - 11 Apr 2006 07:37 - 15958 of 27111

T&G is on the Stanelco PLC website, Investor Relations section.

Also the statements in the Annual Report should get the SP moving a bit, get a copy and blast it round to a few friends and aquaintances, before we hit the big time :)

Thank you for your email.

The Annual Report will be posted on our website by close of play tomorrow.

Best regards

Sylvia Leavey

Al
Why Thursday is that when you get paid.
Have a look at the ubt thread and have a laugh.

hewittalan6 - 11 Apr 2006 12:08 - 15965 of 27111

Its special divi day!!!!
For some obscure reason our accountants insist we get a fairly low salary but a huge special divi every month.
Not clever enough to follow it but they say things like 40% tax on salaries, plus NI contributions and only 19% tax on special divis, and 0% tax on directors capital account repayments.
I don't understand it but I am sure you will appreciate it gets my full attention!!
Over to UBT.

Hi.

After ploughing through last years results last p.m. at least we now know that only two machines are 'yet to reach commercialisation'.

Personally I think it should have been made a lot clearer that the machinery wasn't 'up and running' last year when the asda deal was announced. A lot of folks, me included, thought the 200 target was going to happen during the exclusivity period. Ah well, wishfull thinking!

This was also the first report in which Walmart has been mentioned as I recall.

Apart from that gripe the report was very upbeat and positive about seo's future prospects.

Oilywag - 11 Apr 2006 14:15 - 15967 of 27111

Alan

Have you just given yourself a pay rise out of the petty cash?

hewittalan6 - 11 Apr 2006 14:15 - 15968 of 27111

SSSSHHHHHH!!!!!

Oilywag - 11 Apr 2006 14:17 - 15969 of 27111

Alan

That bit about the special divis - you've blown it now. Our Gordon will be onto you tax avoiders and close that loop hole before he fights Milburn for the leadership.

Silly boy!
