THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Shakespearean fools: Their modern equivalents

Shakespeare loved a fool and not just on 1 April. He used them in most of his well-known plays, but who would their equivalents be today?

Priest in 'indecent images' row at primary school in Pomeroy

An investigation is under way after indecent images were "inadvertently" shown by a Catholic priest during a presentation at a primary school in County Tyrone.

Father Martin McVeigh projected the images onto a screen during a meeting for parents in Pomeroy in preparation for First Holy Communion. One child was also present.

Were they from his private collection ?

Fred1new - 02 Apr 2012 13:53 - 15961 of 81564

Just watched a 1940s propaganda film, where they were blaming "red tape" , bureaucracy and lack in research for their problems.

History repeats.

An excellent article - Can computers have true artificial intelligence?

Is it possible to create true artificial intelligence and, if so, how close are we to doing so, asks mathematician Professor Marcus du Sautoy.

That's interesting, but will have no impact in our life! will it?

Skinny,

Use Ald's, it is free.

Interesting to note that the same people who are telling the public to store volatile fuel in jerrycans at home, have access to a subsidised bar!! Paid for out of our taxes!! How many of you worker bees stroll out of work into a subsidised bar after a days work??The chance of this bunch being re-elected is pretty slim, but it begs the question, who else is there??

Haystack - 03 Apr 2012 18:17 - 15971 of 81564

Plenty of companies have subsidised bars and restaurants. I have worked for at least ten over the years (not as a permanent employee). All political parties have access to the subsidised bars and restaurants.

They did not tell them to stre the jerrycans 'at home'. They said in a garage. It is quite common for people to store a jerrycan of petrol in their garage for their petrol lawnmower. Tha has been the case for longer than anyone here has lived.
