FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

Why do I get the feeling it'll test the 6550 support line now!!.

Cheers Shortie - closed FTSE +15, only have the one @6,764.6.

I've been watching the DAX this afternoon - one of your favs?

Shortie - 10 Jul 2014 16:28 - 15979 of 21973

I just have one FTSE bet at the moment at 6675.8. Have closed a few profits but mainly taken losses today... Expect the DAX to remain under pressure for as long as the Portugal issue is in play... Now what was it super Mario was banging on about the last few months to do with supporting the banking sector... I'm surprised there's not been a statement...

Be carefull what you wish for Cynic.

Shortie - 14 Jul 2014 16:33 - 15987 of 21973

GF, I'm not one for all these bells and whistles apps that tell you when to buy and sell... I've seen plenty of people pay good money only to end up losing a small fortune on these kind of things... I much prefer my trusted old method of just going with the flow and keeping up to date with all the push and pull factors influencing things.

goldfinger - 14 Jul 2014 17:04 - 15988 of 21973

Indeed indeed shortie. Just remind cynic its been a bad bad day for him.

cynic - 14 Jul 2014 17:09 - 15989 of 21973
