Juzzle - 31 Jan 2003 22:30 - 28 of 447

Thanks Owl.

I'd like to thank my sister for lending me the pin to pick the number with.

I'd like to thank all my fellow BBers, here and in other places, whose combined wisdom has contributed to the expertise I have acquired in pinsticking.

I'd like to thank my fellow contestants, for leaving me the whole of the downfield to play in.

And I'd like to thank you, the returning officer, for running this election (sorry, comp) so efficiently.

I promise to wear the yellow jersey with pride, and to wash it before eventually handing it on at some later date. And also to not wear it when splashing concrete or bitumen or red wine.

MaxK - 01 Feb 2003 09:38 - 29 of 447

Bones, - actually, a mirror does sound like a sensible token trophy!

One small enough to be easily and cheaply packaged and posted from one winner to the next each month, just like they do with The Ashes in cricket. For that very purpose of admiring ones winning self for a few weeks. Maybe one of those that usually hang in a birdcage ;->

Bones - 02 Feb 2003 16:30 - 32 of 447

Juzzle - I like it!

Remember, if you are wagering, the bet has to be posted before the open of trade on Monday. Fresh odds will go up most evenings I hope but it depends how bored I get doing it :)

I'll start it off with a 10 bet on myself at 66/1.

NB This is not for real dosh!!

Bones

Juzzle - 02 Feb 2003 17:17 - 33 of 447

Interesting that the two outermost bets carry the same odds as the adjacent ones, despite having a wide open 'upfield' and 'downfield' advantage. Presumably odds shown are based on a precise hit, whereas the contest prize goes to the 'nearest'.

Bones - 02 Feb 2003 21:22 - 34 of 447

Good observation Juzzle. Get your money on while the odds are available :)

Juzzle - 02 Feb 2003 21:34 - 35 of 447

Ain't got any money :-(
Why do you think I'm here instead of down the pub?
