Oxford Biomedica Keeps going Up (OXB)

apple - 10 Dec 2003 15:45

draw?scheme=Colourful&epic=OXBdraw?scheme=Colourful&size=Medium&showVodraw?scheme=Colourful&showVolume=true&stdraw?scheme=Colourful&size=Medium&showVo

Almost Day after day, this keeps going up.

What happens is there are lots of small shareholders selling out during the day who probably bought in when it was 25p due to being tipped in shares mag in July

THEN

At the end of each day there is a really BIG BUY that most people don't notice.
Usually at 16:29.

Next morning, it usually opens up 1/4p

This keeps on happening.

I finally freed up some cash this morning & bought some.
I wish that I had got in at 17p.

The big buyers obviously think that the new drugs will ge a great success.

What do you think?

It was also tipped again in October

SHARES MAGAZINE 30-10-2003

The gene therapy specialist has had a good run this year with shares rising to 28.2p in September. The company has two cancer therapies in the clinic for a range of indications as well as early-stage drugs for neurological disorders.

TroVax is a revolutionary cancer vaccine that works by delivering a gene to the cancer cell via a pox virus acting as a Trojan horse. The drug is in Phase II trials in colorectal cancer patients with the kudos of being sponsored by Cancer Research UK and trials in breast and renal cancer patients. MetXia has also received approval to enter Phase I/II trials for pancreatic cancer.

Investors should recall the high failure rate of cancer drugs such as British Biotechs Marimastat and remember that the risks are high, but Oxford Biomedica is well funded following a recent fundraising and there is still everything to play for.

apple - 02 Jan 2004 15:35 - 18 of 79

AGAIN, another large buy late in the day.

robstuff - 06 Jan 2004 16:34 - 19 of 79

Buy, Buy, Buy, Buy, Buy, Buy - so to flush out some sellers they put the price down and it worked, there were no sellers until late after the bid was reduced. Look at the ratio of buys to sells though! must have been tipped as I heard -see before

Scottie - 06 Jan 2004 20:27 - 20 of 79

Tipped by Patrick Evershed, manager of the New Star Select Opportunities Fund, as his rising star for the year - money.telegraph.co.uk at the weekend.

apple - 13 Jan 2004 16:22 - 24 of 79

Hmmmmm, I think that there may be an announcement of more good news soon.

apple - 16 Jan 2004 09:56 - 25 of 79

AFX News 16/01/04 07:28

Oxford BioMedica gets UK approval for its 3rd Phase II cancer trial for TroVax.

Janus - 17 Jan 2004 10:54 - 26 of 79

For info Seymore Pierce has started covering OXB with a buy note summarised below.

The company has a broad pipeline of products based upon three novel
platform technologies that have real potential to offer alternative therapies to existing/conventional drug treatments.

The company recently raised 20.4m via a 27 for 50 rights issue. The
company now has a significant cash pile, approximately 30m, with which to
develop the product pipeline and negotiate lucrative licensing deals in order
to accelerate towards profitability.

Our conservative NPV model demonstrates a base case investment thesis
supporting a price of 33p for TroVax and MetXia alone. This does not
include the 8p of cash on the balance sheet nor any value being ascribed to
the neurotherapy pipeline, which is expected to be a significant longer term
value driver.

We initiate coverage with the recommendation BUY

Drifted down a bit recently on thin trading.

Buying opportunity!

apple - 30 Jan 2004 10:02 - 29 of 79

OXB started to tick up again this morning!

Results due 3rd March.

oily1 - 01 Feb 2004 19:29 - 30 of 79

Well, having held OXB since 2000, this is the first time I've been on this site. I have to say that having read through the thread that post #3 is very hypocritical !, Rayrac what's happened to your 'wouldn't trust Kingsman as far as I could throw him' attitude, as posted on other sites ??!!, and now you state OXB will be 'mega' !!! Well, it's a no-brainer, jACK.
OXB isn't a one drug wonder company. TroVax, MetXia, Prosavin, Innurex etc., the list goes on and on.

Anyhow as stated by 'Apple' results out on 3rd March. The OXB website has just been updated - plenty of good info on there. http://www.oxfordbiomedica.co.uk

MIDAS7576 - 01 Feb 2004 20:45 - 31 of 79

get ready for some serious news in the next few weeks...................imho...!

05/02/04 08:56 UK smallcaps opening - Oxford Biomedica up on Merck deal RNS

It was interesting to see what I assume were holders from the previous high in September sell out & bring the price back a bit from this morning's jump.

The thing is that there weren't that many of them that jumped off because it pulled back a bit on rather light trading volume.

That may be a good sign & with so many drugs in the pipeline then 1 of them will probably come through with very good news this year.

& it will only take 1 to do the trick.

Anyway, this morning's announcement of new income is pretty good news in itself.

tbrooking66 - 06 Feb 2004 15:59 - 33 of 79

hmmm looks like the friday afternoon big investment in Oxf. bio has happened again. is this because it looks like good value and theres cash to be used up for the week?

apple - 06 Feb 2004 16:53 - 34 of 79

tbrooking66

Yep 350,000 protected trade.

I thought something like that must be pushing the price UP.

They must be expecting good results on 3rd of March.

If we have a good run up to 3rd March then I suppose there will be a few tree shakes on the way as things get hectic.

apple - 09 Feb 2004 09:31 - 35 of 79

Up again, 4th trading day in a row
