Three trading statements this month....NEW MEDIA INDUSTRIES (NMI)

ethel - 28 Feb 2005 20:19

Here's an interesting penny share,4.38p.The results were'nt brilliant, but they have got very excited about iPix holdings that they acquired in December 2004.The parent company is American, but NMI have a large range of European "territories" to conquer including the U:K:We are talking about surveillance cameras here. With all the interst in security these days this company seems interesting to me.Their latest project is to install cameras etc.at two operating stations run by Arriva. This is the first installation of its kind in Europe.Have a look at their website and give me some feedback, please. The sp could go to 8p IMHO.www.nmsecurity.comTHANKS...ETHEL

Hi, new to this share. Thinking about getting in but unsure why given the recent positive RNS (7/4/05) for NMI Security and expected near term news flow the price hasn't responded. Perhaps not on the bigger radar yet but there seems to be great potential.

Does anyone else have a view on how well other parts of the business are doing?

Attached RNS in case anyone's interested:

NMI Security

This update is to notify the market of a key new relationship, an emerging revenue stream, and to provide an overview of significant product improvements from IPIX.

Foreign & Commonwealth Office

We have started working with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. This presents a tremendous opportunity for NMI Security, as their remit is to work for UK interests in a 'safe, just and prosperous world', through an overseas network of over 200 diplomatic offices.

We will be reporting more as this relationship evolves, and in the light of our recent VAR agreement, which is designed to allow us to operate in any overseas territory outside the US.

NMI Security DVR

We reported earlier that NMI Security had specified and built a proprietary DVR ( Digital Video Recorder ) that was IPIX enabled. Without re-iterating its unique benefits, a number of major companies are now interested in purchasing this unit in volume, based on its intrinsic benefits. Negotiations are well underway, and we will report in due course as to the scale of contracts.

US Product Update

ISC West is the largest security event in the US, and the forum for releasing new alliances and product developments. IPIX Corporation has embargoed many of these fundamental improvements, until this juncture. They will have an effect on the efficacy of the IPIX platform, and ultimately the ability to deliver comprehensive solutions.

IPIX will be integrating Vistascape surveillance software with CommandView cameras, to provide a high degree of situational awareness and detail. They have also formed an OEM partnership with ObjectVideo, who are leaders in monitoring 'at-risk environments' and threat detection. All this added ' intelligence' will dramatically enhance the quality of solutions the IPIX platform can now offer, and are ideal for current NMI Security clients in Infrastructure, Government & Transportation.

Night Vision

Most importantly IPIX have just released a fundamental improvement to the camera range.

The introduction of 'true' night vision, will be a tremendous boost to many of the contracts we are currently pursuing. 'True' night vision is equipped with Infra-Red, which is activated at low, or designated light levels to produce a perfect black & white image.

This is one of the key product improvements NMI Security has been demanding, and will immediately be available for deployment on key infrastructure and transportation projects.

Paul Nathan, Managing Director of NMI plc commented:

" As NMI Security continues to build its alliances and markets, it is imperative that we have the ability to satisfy the most demanding end user requirements. It is becoming increasingly evident, as we continue to intensify our assault on the security market, that more and more barriers to entry are dissolving, allowing the product to assert itself. "

Hello,glad to see you here.
Since I did my last post NMI really do seem to be getting their act together.Presumably the Foreign Office pays in sterling on time!!!???
However, the punters are not rushing in in droves,so the share is pretty much day traded on news.I suppose you could "put it away for a year" but until I feel more confident I am not investing. If you can day trade then the chart is quite easy to follow.
The RNS's get more confident and keep on coming,so that makes quick trading easier.IMHO

The type of clients they are attracting, as you say Ethel, are probably good, prompt payers and if a company can produce for British security and, I believe they are also involved in Israel, they are then good enough to provide security systems for anybody. I think this is a winning outfit, but then again I would say that `cose I`ve held loads of them since I bought at 18p a long time back.
still holding though, and really think they are a useful and potentially very successful company.

doughboy66 - 22 Apr 2005 10:45 - 19 of 49

I did buy a small holding a couple of weeks back ,i don`t expect any overnight miracles but i`m hopefull that in the medium to long term this company will succeed. They are building up a very reputable client base and i`m sure this will only grow in size.

doughboy66 - 25 Apr 2005 14:28 - 20 of 49

A large trade has gone through today ( for NMI anyway !) I presume this was a buy at 4p ,as its listed as unknown.?

ethel - 25 Apr 2005 15:04 - 21 of 49

Have a look at all the trade shows Croma have booked themselves in for this year.Today's rns.
If NMI goes to these shows as well, they could rustle up lots more clients. Both stocks an interesting punt on security, surveillance etc IMO.

ethel - 25 Apr 2005 15:54 - 22 of 49

My only worry at the moment is,how do you think NMI are going to be able to increase share capital from 4mil to 7mil without diluting the sp horribly?
The first placing of 10,500,000 in order to raise 378,000 to purchase more equipment seems to have been absorbed by brokers, but can they continue to issue 80 odd million more shares in this manner without upsetting investors?
My maths is a bit dodgy so maybe one of you can have a go.
Does this mean a shares consolidation later this year ?If so I prefer to wait.

doughboy66 - 27 Apr 2005 09:51 - 23 of 49

Good news reported today up %15 at the moment ,i think they have started to turn the corner sooner than i thought.

ethel - 27 Apr 2005 11:57 - 24 of 49

Well,db66,it looks like things are looking up.
Seymour Pierce are the new house brokers for NMI and will hopefully place the new shares issues without too much trouble.Today's price rise is not related to the amount of shares bought registered on my screen.Volumes don't reflect the sp,so someone has been buying off screen.I would like an answer to the questions I raised on the 25th April.
Also note that 2,500,000 of the new shares issued will go as allotments to the directors. Is this in lieu of pay or feathering the nests of certain individuals?
I thought today's RNS was a bit cheeky with the royal "appointment" hinted at because of certain work that they did in April!
The new police contract looks good.Yes,they are really moving at a faster rate than I expected.I am wary that today's rise may be followed by profit taking tomorrow. The market cap is still too small to appeal to big institutions but the sp could rise to 6p on enthusiasm from small punters alone.
The spread has narrowed since this morning, but is still much too large for me as I am not prepared to risk a lot of money at this stage. The stockmarket has become much harder to predict these last two weeks.Also...The Election looms.

mistd999 - 18 May 2005 17:45 - 25 of 49

Another positive RNS news flow today yet at the end of the day nothing positive in the price?? Hmm...still not sure about getting in this one yet (or perhaps at this "quiet" stage) but keeping a one eye on it for now.

Attached RNS below if anyone's interested :

New Media Industries PLC
18 May 2005

New Media Industries plc

NMI Security: Somerfield Group & World's First 'IPIX enabled' Mobile DVR

UK Retail Sales: Somerfield Group

One of the main retail projects NMI Security has been working on in conjunction
with the Certainty Group - and referred to in previous announcements - has now
been duly approved, and is progressing to the next level.

After extensive testing in Kwik Save - with an initial batch of camera
installations in situ - the Somerfield Group have confirmed an order for the
next phase of the procurement process, based on the 'feature rich' DVR (digital
video recorder) performance and 'IPIX enablement' of the installed systems.

This will involve the installation of a further batch of IPIX cameras and NMI
DVR units across a cluster of retail outlets, and represents part of a project
to upgrade the security and surveillance structure for Somerfield Group. The
Group operates 1,250 stores across the UK.

New Product Development: World's First 'IPIX enabled' Mobile DVR

NMI Security, based on close co-operation with transportation clients, has
developed, extensively 'beta tested', and can now release the world's first
'IPIX enabled' mobile DVR (digital video recorder).

It is ideally suited for all vehicles - especially buses and taxis - and can
record data from up to 4 IPIX enabled CCTV cameras. The hard drive can store up
to one week of full integrity data, and is ideal for comprehensive monitoring of
all driver and passenger activity.

In addition, the hard drive can be utilised to broadcast advertising and other
messages to screens. This product will be showcased at the forthcoming Security
Expo in Brussels.

doughboy66 - 27 May 2005 15:05 - 26 of 49

Another trading statement issued today fairly positive in my view, any thoughts anyone?
DB66

doughboy66 - 09 Jun 2005 19:57 - 27 of 49

A lot of activity in NMI shares today and only 1 of the trades was a sell.
What has surprised me was the volume and value of trades given that they are issuing more equity onto the markets on Monday at 3p a share, strange given people were prepared to pay 4p a share today.
db66

ethel - 13 Jul 2005 15:45 - 28 of 49

Things are certainly looking up for NMI,especially as they are getting involved in transport security. The market still only reacts for a day or so on news..and this might be the case after today's announcement stating that they are going to concentrate solely on the security business.
Hope they get good money for the other businesses.
They have the right people on board and I hope to see the sp at 8p by the year end.Only offputting thing is the whacking spread, which should tighten as we see progress.DYOR and hope for the best!
Ethel

doughboy66 - 13 Jul 2005 15:56 - 29 of 49

It hurts me to say it but the enviroment we live in today is certainly going to help NMI progress from here.
DB66

ethel - 13 Jul 2005 16:05 - 30 of 49

Yes,a horrible time for all,but the security business is going to grow fast.I am surprised to see that Croma has'nt picked up more after last week's tragic events...this is another company that I have been following and also SGD.There has to be more consolidation in this market between the smaller firms.
Interesting to note that NMI is considering a move to the Tech section of the stockmarket...should help them. Will this changeover cost them anything?
Ethel

davepyle - 03 Aug 2005 21:05 - 31 of 49

any news from the foreign office contract?

ethel - 23 Aug 2005 11:39 - 32 of 49

davepyle...sorry I never answered your question!
Events have meant that we now need to see shareholder approval for the sale of the media business which will be sought at the EGM on Sept 7.
I think NMI are lucky to have sold this loss making business for 1 million, although obviously they would have liked more.
The admission to the market today of millions of new shares has encouraged the mms to raise the sp on virtually no sales. The horrible spread is a bit of a deterrent.
The management moves fast and will be keen to get the Olympic contracts. If this security system is good enough for President Bush and Prince Charles then it must satisfy the criteria for top level protection.
Their upgraded website is a great improvement on the old one.Shareholders would be foolish to vote against the sale of the media business.
IMO this company should do very well,as long as they don't make mistakes......!
ETHEL

doughboy66 - 23 Aug 2005 11:55 - 33 of 49

I really did have high hopes for this company like you said Ethel the client list speaks volumes about the products they have to offer.

One thing i am fed up with is the constant placing of shares on the market to raise funds for replenishing stock,i`m a bit sceptical of this excuse!

DB66

ethel - 23 Aug 2005 13:42 - 34 of 49

Also,if you are going to raise money, get it over with in one large chunk.2 million seems very small to me if they are going "big time".Should we expect another share issue in a few months time?At least it does'nt increase debt levels and today's dilution(IF the new shares have reached the market)does'nt seem to have hurt the sp.
We shall see...I am already in...ignored my stop loss and lived to see the horrible drop last week.
LOL ETHEL

doughboy66 - 23 Aug 2005 17:23 - 35 of 49

Would we be chucking good money after bad if we averaged down our holdings?

The company states at the bottom of RNS ( NMI Security Limited expects to grow substantially over the coming months)

Also RNS issued about holdings in company.
Eden Capital Fund holds 132,150,000 ordinary shares in New Media Industries (representing 26.4% of issued share capital) following its acquistion of 100,000,000 shares in the recent placing.
