character group - looks cheap to me. (CCT)

Peadar10 - 10 Mar 2005 18:53

this one rebounded to 70p odd last time price dipped this low. directors also bought back then - late last year if i remember correctly.
Does anyone know what ever happened to the possibility of a bid?

lex1000 - 16 Feb 2007 13:00 - 16 of 35

CCT - breaking out next leg. Still cheap and way undervalued imho.

red = 25 dma
green = 50 dma
black = 200 dma

both the company and the share are performing very well indeed.
had to go back to late 2003 to find last time at this level .... go visit!
think there may be a bit of congestion and resistance at this point though the momentum is still strongly northbound

lex1000 - 16 Feb 2007 18:34 - 18 of 35

cynic,thanks for charts and your thoughts.I've been very bullish on CCT from 100p.You've hit the nail on the head drawing attention to historic chart.Gets even better when looking at historic 10 year chart years 1998/1999.This is where I and those wiser than me beleive CCT is heading.

Number crunching (see separate thread link: http://www.moneyam.com/InvestorsRoom/posts.php?tid=11121#)highlights value growth share with progressive % yield.Recent Major license news and Toy Story 2009 prospects empathise huge potential and that Character have only just begun.All yet to be factored into share price & pretty sure 3i will add more and more value here.

Market makers bought twice today and yes technically an excellent close above 150p.KEEP HOLDING & anything is possible going forward 200p-480p.Revised for me from two to three year hold 2006-2009.aimvho.dyor.

cynic - 16 Feb 2007 19:01 - 19 of 35

don't hold at the moment .... had a quick and successful trade just before/after Christmas but if there is a pullback, will certainly consider buying again

notcynic - 18 Feb 2007 15:16 - 20 of 35

allo cynic, me ol' mucka. Have you gone mad? Are you not aware of going on at eme? cynic, you are going to miss out.

cynic - 18 Feb 2007 20:04 - 21 of 35

it might be hepful if you wrote something that made sense ..... as to CCT, i agree it is a good company, as i mentioned above, but also as i have written elsewhere, one cannot and should not try to hold every damn stock that theatens to move upwards.

driver - 18 Feb 2007 21:57 - 22 of 35

Sold the last of these last week 180% profit may have some more to go but needed the funds elsewhere, good luck.

lex1000 - 23 Mar 2007 11:47 - 23 of 35

Still very cheap even after todays rise.imho.dyor.

Character Group expects FY to exceed current market expectations 'substantially'
AFX

LONDON (AFX) - Character Group PLC said it expects to exceed current market expectations for the financial year 'substantially' as its sales and profitability in the year to date from continuing business are ahead on-year.

The toys, games and gifts company said Christmas retail demand for its products, particularly its Doctor Who lines, was very strong and the new year has started well, adding that it expects the trend to continue throughout the calendar year.

Character Group noted ongoing strong demand for its continuing lines and new introductions such as Dragonfly, Movin and Groovin Flowers, and Bindees.

lex1000 - 22 Apr 2007 16:30 - 27 of 35

Monday last chance to buy before Results.Trend is up.

cynic - 22 Apr 2007 18:59 - 28 of 35

lex ... what you say is patently true, but i think a potential investor would be on a safer wicket by waiting until after the results, for it is a racing certainty that there is a lot of hot money in here that will be taken out again with the results .... not always true i grant you, but odds are heavily stacked that way

andysmith - 22 Apr 2007 21:51 - 29 of 35

Still holding 35% of initial bargain purchases at sub 50p. Remainder sold between 120p and 170p for banked profit and new investments means these running totally free and will be held now for next advance to 250-300p. Fantastic turnaround by CCT over 2 years and well positioned now for future growth. Results will be good.

andysmith - 24 Apr 2007 07:19 - 31 of 35

Interim profits exceed expectations, EPS 9.3p for 6 months, very strong performance. This has exceeded my own expectations since buying below 50p on signs of a recovery. Took some profits on the way but still have original first buys.
Onwards and upwards.

cynic - 24 Apr 2007 08:07 - 32 of 35

do we really need two live threads on this stock?

cynic - 24 Apr 2007 08:16 - 33 of 35

as predicted, yesterday was NOT the time to buy ..... sp has retraced as rather expected, though whether further to go is subjective judgement .... my guess is "yes" as rsi is heavily o'bought ...... watch to see if sp hits rising 25 dma, currently about 185

andysmith - 24 Apr 2007 13:44 - 34 of 35

Some profit taking today BUT Charles Stanley issued new buy note with target price of 250p, 25% up on today. With excellent profits, continued growth & good dividend all looking OK.

cynic - 24 Apr 2007 16:24 - 35 of 35

would not argue with that
