Potentialy a daft question....I understood that a ten bagger was a share the doubled itself 10 times....the article kicks off by saying that a share which is 100p and becomes 10 is a 10 bagger.....to my mind that's a sort of a 4 and a bit bagger...i.e. 100p to 200p (2 bagger)...200p to 400p (3 bagger)..etc etc. Have I got this wrong?

Mr Mole; In investing language, a stock or other investment that has returned ten times its original investment is called a 'ten bagger'. Other multiples are also used, i.e. five bagger. So from 1 to 10 is ten fold increase, so a ten bagger.
The comparison is derived from the US game of baseball, where the bases are called bags, and a hit which produces, say, a three base movement of the runner, is called a three bagger.
Hope that helps

Interesting selection mentioned so far -
CHP good luck Sharesure, too scary for me.
PCM (thanks, driver) if it 10-bags it'll go 20 quite likely, look at the market it's drawing on - currently I'm on the if bit.
Of course, I believe in SEO, DGT and MOI very much, all(?) mentioned above.
Here's a couple I like:-
Another W. African oil which seems about to be bought by big Asian interests, FAO, could quite possibly go to 1 over the next 5 years, but is not much more than a shell with options currently.
A nutraceutical PSG is in my view an SEO of the phosphorylation world. They have a brand new technique to apply to an enormous range of existing drug and health products without the risk of side effects and such strenuous approvals because they are new means of delivery, not new drugs - massive IMHO. Currently languishing at a dream entry price of 10p - ssshh! don't tell anyone.
Gold has to be interesting, as we get going on the next secular bull market for this esoteric metal. I'm looking at EUM - proven resources in Kazahkstan (10th biggest country in the world - not many people know that!) at mines within 100km of the main Russia-China rail road - this little piggy went to market! Also lying low at rather less than I paid (wol), but has recently started ascent to first base with news that preparations for initial production in 2006 are progressing nicely.
edit: must add in my pet charity ARX. IF (!) it can get some sales this will easily X 10 its current 7.75p SP - no question.
btw, if you scroll up so the top half of driver's Bone Bag Kid (hi, coz) is concealed, it looks like something quite different.
