VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

Vane Minerals PLC
07 March 2005

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

Forgot ................. higher, higher , higher.

Madison - 12 Apr 2007 10:54 - 1606 of 2220

Hi GF. Some of us have been waiting a long time for this!

Glad I hung on through the darker days, even with tranches bought in the twenties two odd years ago.

Cheers, Madison

goldfinger - 12 Apr 2007 11:19 - 1607 of 2220

Yep well done Maders.

I think my original purchase was at about 12p approx 2 years ago and then I bought and sold further tranches and picked up a shed load at just under 10p again.

Doing pretty well out of it, and like you point out its rewarded good old patience.

By the way Im now starting to look at Tech stocks again. Theres a lot of value out there, a lot of value. I realise theres a lot who dont trust the sector after 2000 and all but things change in time.

Ive got one or two tasty software stocks lined up, pity shares mags gone and main tipped one of them this morning, aaaaaaaaaaaaGH.

Taylorc - 12 Apr 2007 11:26 - 1608 of 2220

Hi All
VML is proof that things can turn around, this has always been a good company, so not sure why the big drop last year. I think this company definately have the potential to be a 10 bagger in the long term. Maybe it will go the same way as Aquarius Platinum my favourite share of all time. Once the Uranium starts to flow we will all be sitting pretty, its just a matter of time, so hold on and have patience and I am sure this will be a great story.

From GCI tip site....

Uranium expansion by Vane
Companies: VML
11/04/2007
Vane Minerals has bought a new uranium prospect at Eastern Star, Arizona, and identified a new target at another prospect.

AIM-quoted Vane, floated at 11p in 2004 to pursue gold and silver in Mexico, is now heavily focused on uranium, having paid an undisclosed but apparently insignificant cash amount for Eastern Star.

The company, where well-connected Channel Islands-based uranium investor Geiger Counter recently became an investor, says Eastern Star covers a highly favourable pipe target, bearing strong surface indicators that are characteristic of uranium-bearing pipes.

Matthew Idiens, corporate development director, says drilling should start soon at Eastern Star.

Meanwhile, Vane has identified a second target at its existing project, the Miller pipe in northern Arizona. Idiens says the company, which is also looking at a few other properties, is adequately funded, but may need additional funding to expand rapidly.

Vane shares, recommended by Growth Company Investor at 9.75p last September, have now hit 24p, valuing the company at 35.3 million, and could go further as long as uranium remains in vogue and drilling results do not disappoint.

This is my biggest small cap holding ...Being a archtypal percentages player and what with drilling news, and subsequent s/p hike, i feel l should perhaps sell 50%.............but i am also realistic and sometimes a greedy sod and realise u308 is the future and appreciate the limited shares avaiable ... so on those grounds alone coupled with VMLs current momentum l am prepared to let it run .Unimpressed by the spread. of course, .....Ex Ofex specialist outfit ,Wills and Co ,were tipping this at 8 's last year ........CYN-Welcome aboard . hEY you did well selling PFC right on the touch .....im awaiting the 400p level revisited if poss ...Roly , my man . Dynamite - 12 Apr 2007 14:31 - 1613 of 2220

Well for good or bad I decided to take the 80% profit and sell out the VML shares I held in my Sipp this morning as I am trying to keep this lower risk and 80% is fantastic. I am however holding out in my normal share account and currently 130% up on VML so I am very happy.

From Sharecast......

Vane soars on strategic review news
Thu 12 Apr 2007

LONDON (SHARECAST) - Vane Minerals hit a new all time best Thursday as it said it is undertaking a strategic review of its options in order to maximise shareholder benefit from its uranium portfolio.

The group, which saw its value leap by almost a fifth, said it recognises the rising interest, particularly in the US and Canada, of institutions and other parties in uranium companies.

In addition, it notes that this has led to substantial valuations and major fundraising opportunities for some asset-rich uranium companies in those markets.

Although, the company said there is no certainty as to the outcome of any review, it considers that it has a duty in the best interests of shareholders to explore what options may be available to extract optimum value from its now sizeable uranium portfolio.

An update on progress will be announced in due course.

Vane also announced a 1m fundraising through the issue of a fixed-rate unsecured convertible loan note to Geiger Counter Limited.

It said the cash will be used to facilitate the fast track exploration and drilling at the groups various North American uranium projects.

TheFrenchConnection - 13 Apr 2007 04:08 - 1622 of 2220

lf its good enough for seasoned u308 pros like Geiger to issue an unsecured loan note its good enough for me . ... Very bulllish @+

goldfinger - 13 Apr 2007 10:21 - 1623 of 2220

Nice to see it positive again this morning.

Some seem to be top slicing and locking in gains. Sound stratergy.

Two way trade seems very healthy.

More to come over the next few months me thinks.
