Air Music and Media (AMU)

ptholden - 24 Aug 2004 21:52

AMU quite rightly appears to be developing a small following, hence I have updated the header with a 'carrot' and the charts.

PTH

UK smallcap opening - Air Music & Media gains on Investors Chronicle tip
AFX

LONDON (AFX) - Buyers came for Air Music & Media, 1.13 ahead at 7.75 pence, after the Investors Chronicle advised readers to 'buy'.

With trading looking strong at the music distributor, and a share price target of 13 pence from broker Seymour Pierce, the shares look oversold, the IC concluded.

Take your point Ex.. but... it's not done anything for the SP.... :(

1704 - 12 Sep 2005 14:24 - 163 of 276

Skyhigh-Also disappointed about the lack of market reaction
regarding the two RNS. However, from past mistakes I've
stopped trying to predict when the share price will move
upwards. Fingers crossed it will be soon.

Explosive
Agree with the points you raised about Hollywood DVD and
still laugthing about the points you raised about the crap
DVD titles. Personally, I am pleased to see they have taken
action to ditch this loss maker. Be interesting to see if they
can make Maximum Entertainment the money spinner I reckon
it is. As for Redleaf the less said the better.
Good luck with the new job.

Wilbs-
I've stopped reading RHPS with regards to AMU for several
months now. Been disappointed for several weeks/months
over the poor coverage given to AMU. His most recent
comments are a joke and does not tell us anything.

explosive - 12 Sep 2005 15:46 - 164 of 276

1704 - Totaly agree with the RHPS view, TB has made some very bad calls recently Stanelco sell then buy back the next month being one of them. I'm considering cancelling my membership as the issue isn't of the quality it once was.

Regarding Redleaf I don't share your view, the Redleaf PR deal I think is the first step for Redleaf to understand AMU. Redleaf also have clients such as Somerfield, Finsbury Food, MonsterMob & Retail Decisions.
Once Redleaf start working with AMU we could possibly see the Sales and Distribution side of AMU brought out of the dark ages with Redleaf designing and managing AMUs website and PR relations. I'm thinking on-line ordering facility and downloads. Whats your opionion?

Skyhigh - The SP is frustrating, agreed, I bout in at just under the 8p mark so am as concerned as you are. However AMU need to start getting with the times, they have made a good aquisition in Maximum Entertainment, appointed a PR whos yet to perform. All we need now is distribution into the market for AMU to become a leader. The board is making the required changes and the SP is very undervalued if you look at the recent aquisition valuing the SP at 8p.

Some would sell and move onto pastures green but for me I think the board are still hungry and will turn this decline around.....

1704 - 12 Sep 2005 17:21 - 165 of 276

Explosive-Thanks for your post.

Fully in agreement with you regarding TB and RHPS. Stanelco
is a good example, that you picked out. I think he is losing his
touch and like you may cancel my membership. I have sent
a couple of e-mails to him this year asking him why he does
not cover the stock as much as other's in his portfolio? I
have not found his service as customer friendly as other tip
sheet services I subscribe with.

With regards to Redleaf. You've lost me here. Didn't the RNS
announced today confirm that AMU have hired Bishopsgate
Communications as a PR Adviser I took that to mean that Redleaf
Communications have been given the 'boot'? Was looking
foward to having a drink to that tonight after seeing the value
of my investment plummet since they were hired. Not sure
why AMU would need 2 PR Advisers?

Agree with the points you made about the share price despite
today's slump. I reckon the share price will rebound before the
end of the week and have a feeling some large buyer/s have put
in 'buy order'.

explosive - 12 Sep 2005 18:03 - 166 of 276

1704 - Doah!!!! You are correct and Redleaf have indeed been given the boot for Bishopsgate Communications Ltd...... Anyone have any info on this PR company e.g. who they are part of etc.??

1704 - 12 Sep 2005 19:10 - 167 of 276

Explosive

Don't be too hard on yourself yet. It's just that when I
read through the RNS I took it to mean that Bishopsgate
were taking over from Redleaf. The RNS does not confirm
this but I am hoping it does happen. Although Redleaf may
have done/and is doing good PR work with other companies
it just has not happened with AMU for reasons I have no
idea about. Please note I am looking at this from the view
of where the share price was when Redleaf was appointed
to where the Share Price is today.

Ouch! It makes painful viewing the share price chart this
year doesn't it? I just hope between AMU and Bishopsgate
they come up with a PR Strategy that works.
Personally this investment has been a disaster for me this
year and am looking now for the shares to start fufilling their
promise. I keep telling myself it will come good eventually
and to hold for the long-term but its not easy when you have
observed it continue to fall and fall.

All the Best

goal - 12 Sep 2005 19:52 - 168 of 276

Good evening all, I must admit the share price doesn't make a lot of sense to me,looks like a good buying opportunity. 5.38p your having a laugh... we might start the clime back from tomorrow, regards goal.

1704 - 12 Sep 2005 20:21 - 169 of 276

Goal

Agree with the points you raised. Kicking myself I can't take
the opportunity to fill my boots at these lows. No avalilable
funds. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
I reckon we should make back the 10% fall today before the end
of the week.

Logging off now to head for a drink. Raise your glasses to Michael
Vaughn and the Boys and to Bishopsgate Communications-better
days ahead I hope.

skyhigh - 13 Sep 2005 09:09 - 170 of 276

Same old story with this one...Crap again this morning !

goal - 13 Sep 2005 14:20 - 171 of 276

Syyhigh, all AIM shares seem tobe taking a bashing today.

explosive - 13 Sep 2005 14:27 - 172 of 276

1704 - I think my entire portfolio has taken a bashing this morning and my African Gold shares have been suspended (mmmmmm fingers crossed)..... Have to admit though on the positive side I've only really suffered one loss this year, AMU I'm still holding and expecting a turn around.... Me Internet is playing up so can't get into me share trading account or email at the mo to investigate...

skyhigh - 13 Sep 2005 14:59 - 173 of 276

Yes,
All mine down so far today as well ! double pants !
Most of my holdings have had good results news issued recently and they still go down.. I'm putting it down to the fact that shares in general do not do well in Sept/Oct... hoping for a recovery from Nov. onwards :)

explosive - 13 Sep 2005 15:27 - 174 of 276

Shkhigh - Not so sure if months Sept / Oct are bad for share prices. Look at the ecomony and investments as a whole. Anyway I have just increased my holding in AMU to 18,108 shares. Brings my average by price down to 7.55..... ;-)

explosive - 13 Sep 2005 15:31 - 175 of 276

All - Today buys outweigh sells by 661,11 to 144,977 as at 15:30... Confidence!!

1704 - 13 Sep 2005 17:01 - 176 of 276

Evening All

Explosive-Thanks for your earlier post

Been working hard for once and away from my desk.
Good thing as well had a bit of a shock when I saw
the AMU share price this morning on Bloomberg TV
in fact it nearly put me off my fry-up and mug of
coffee.

Good to see the share price has rallied back a bit
hope to see the same thing for the rest of the week.

explosive - 13 Sep 2005 18:12 - 177 of 276

1704 - Indeed the share price is looking better, the market seams to have welcomed recent events. I have a feeling though we're set for furhter upset. The RHPS portfolio isn't performing very well at the moment and is starting to become a little long. Have a gut feeling that TB will pull the plug on AMU before the month is out. Anyway I'm in for the long hall.. Heres why and why I today increased my holding....

I been looking for distributors of animated films and cartoons, Amazon are probally number 1 at the moment and have a full online purchasing system stocking just about everything. Question, is Amazon a competitor to AMU or are they just a distributor? I think distributor and will inevitably have to come to some arrangement with AMU with regard to the exclusive license to duplicate and distribute certain Jetix titles such as the brands Transformers, Care Bears, Ninja Turtles and Action Man DVDs that it stocks and sells by way of DVD and VHS in the UK, Channel Irelands and Eire. ((Now breath))

This means that essentially companies such as established Amazon in a way will take care of the sales side for AMU under the exclusive lisence held by Maximum aquired by AMU.

Now check out the below site........

http://www.thezreview.co.uk/comingsoon/t/transformers.htm

Very intresting don't you think, 4th July 2007 release date for Transformers the movie (This should help just a tad with marketing)... Although sales of the actual movie won't do anything for AMU the re-lived Transformer buzz should help sell the old cartoon DVDs especially if kiddies take to the movie and want more!! Amazon and many others are well placed to supply, AMU have the exclusive license to duplicate and distribute... Sounds good doesn't it... 's....

Any feedback would be appreciated or maybe not it I'm barking up the wrong tree here (yet again may I add)....

1704 - 13 Sep 2005 18:55 - 178 of 276

Evening All

First the bad news. Seymour Pierce yesterday downgraded
AMU to 'hold' from 'buy'. Probably explains the large volume
of selling yesterday. You can read yesterdays small companies
report on This is Money website.
http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/investing-and-markets.

Still despite the downgrade good to see more investors taking
advantage of the bargain share price today.

Explosive- Thanks for your post. Cheered me up
and got me doing the 'moonwalk' and robot
dance I'm so excited.

Just clicked on to the website address that you gave and I'm
happy I did. I had a feeling the acquisition of Maximum
Entertainment would be a money spinner and now I can see
why. Transformers the movie I cannot wait. I can see as
many pound signs as you can. Happy to grit my teeth with
AMU for a few more years yet.

All the Best

explosive - 14 Sep 2005 11:53 - 179 of 276

1704 - Glad to see that you also share my perception of where this looks like its going... You have good cause to be excited too as I believe Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy are producing the movie.... They did Xmen, Xmen2 and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, all in my personal DVD collection!! This means the movie should get a good Hollywood style budget and be very good..

Now I wonder if they had anything to do also with the current Citroen adverts where the car changes into a robot and struts its stuff... Timing of this set of ads with Transformers the movie next year, is there a relation to maybe test the market or just another ad I wonder!!......

All your opionions would be very useful or any further info site that can found. There are loads talking about the movie however post the best ones on this thread please.

Maybe also plans for some of AMUs other cartoons to be made into future fims. Would definatly follow the recent Marvel trend which has seen before the film release the old animated cartoons hit the high street and online suppliers..

1704 - 14 Sep 2005 12:07 - 180 of 276

Explosive

Pleased to see Steven Spielberg is involved in the 'Transformer'
Movie as Executive Producer. If AMU play their cards right with
the acquisition of Maximum Entertainment the 5m plus profit
forecasts for 2006 and 2007 look low to me. In fact I intend to
hold onto these shares until 2008-2009. After reading about the
'Transformers' Movie the shares look more than a 'Ten Bagger'
to me. Unfortunately, if you were to walk around the City of
London today saying that now you would probably be escorted
off to Rampton Hospital for psychiatric help.

In fact I'm going mad trying to work out why these shares are
so unloved and rated so low. Hoping better days are ahead they
certainly should be.

All the Best

explosive - 14 Sep 2005 13:08 - 181 of 276

1704 - Agree 100%, the shares are unloved but until recently the media AMU had been selling was in a nut shell crap!! Look at the music also, not really anything I'd buy, take one look in any music store and the easy listening section is the smallest telling me the market must also me small. I'd like to see this change or cut lose as with Hollywood DVD, be very intrested to see just how much revenue comes from the sale of music they lisence and distribute!!

The new Maximum DVD side of the business however should now start picking up as lets face it they have obtained alot of animated classics. The Avengers will always be remembered and could well become a movie yet again. Captain America massive franchise movie ruined by 90's bad acting along with the Fantastic Four recently remade is due a box office hit. King Arthur not long been out as a movie but adult theme takes it away from the animated roots. Theres also Huckleberry Finn, that would make a good kiddies movie. Check out this link, very interesting when you start looking at the future potential regarding

http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1500962/04282005/story.jhtml

Now with Christmas coming up the seasonal sales boost for these animated cartoons should benefit AMUs share price. Fingers crossed....
