Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

If I move out of MAM to another site without logging out and then return , I am getting this old problem of the bar adverts on Stockwatch not loading and stockwatch freezes - should I always logout when leaving the site ?? and will this fix the problem ??? Thanks

maddoctor,

there is nothing MoneyAM does which would cause this problem. Just having HTML on a page should never cause a problem like that, it sounds more like a problem somewhere at your end...

Is your machine very loaded (lots of apps running), low on memory/processor speed?

maddoctor - 06 Feb 2004 12:50 - 1625 of 7315

J, no Internet explorer only and its a pentium 4 machine. Had the problem in a big way early December and seemed then to be something to do with the bar adverts

PeterG,
I've been thinking about the 'early spike' problem you mention.
One possible solution, which may be the easiest way round it, is
to arrange for such stocks simply to be ignored for the first few
minutes of trading - say until 8.05am - if prices tracked before
then are only going to create unwanted spikes in the graph.
STAN is one stock for which this seems to happen - can you
let me know the others?
Thanks

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Feb 2004 08:18 - 1629 of 7315

Spaceman - can you clos ethe L2 windows down and then pull up new ones and try again?

Thanks

Ian

IanT, yes that worked OK now.

garyboulter - 10 Feb 2004 16:21 - 1631 of 7315

Is there a problem with the Stockwatch link, haven't had a connection for the last 20 mins.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Feb 2004 16:23 - 1632 of 7315

gary - there is no problem could you refresh your screen and let me know what happens?

Ian

Have done that, even closed and opened new browser window. Message = connection lost.. attempting to connect.

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Feb 2004 16:36 - 1634 of 7315

gary,

can you close down all of your browsers and then pull up a new browser and see if you can access stockwatch.

Felix,

On the "spikey charts" charts problem, I can't really say which stocks are affected by this.

Can you confirm whether the values charted are mid prices or last trades? If mid prices I suspect that it's a problem affecting SETS stocks that open with crazy spreads.

I've noticed that BigCharts (as used on the FT site) are generally clear of spikes. A**** Mam competitor also has fairly clean charts.

If you are charting mid prices maybe you should think about switching to last trade. And if no trade occurs during the next chart interval then repeating the last value until the next trade... But what do I know... Maybe some others could comment. I'm sure this must affect quite a lot of users.

PS (on edit)
I can't help noticing that the 5 Day charts only show 4 days of data...

Oops, sorry for multiple post. My internet connection seems to be going AWOL...

Sonofagun - 10 Feb 2004 20:00 - 1641 of 7315

Is this site totally bolloxed?!

Why, from the traders thread will it not go back to list-quicker to click AM site again & get in that way.
Then notice Ftse index is still @ 4434-why no update?
Thought being double billed was bad enough:((

Doesn't like post replies either!

IanT(MoneyAM) - 11 Feb 2004 07:09 - 1642 of 7315

Sonofagun,

I will get Jonathan to look into the problems you have outlined here - and please accept my apologies for the problems you may have experienced.

Can you confirm whether you received my reply to your Email yesterday?

If you have any further questions or issues, you can E mail me directly at ian@moneyam.com

Regards

Ian
