Tonyrelaxes,

RE - "Fidelity-
This may have been CF3's "big buyer" of a few weeks ago - within what time limits must stakes be reported ? Also it may not be such a big purchase afterall as they could in theory have been sitting on 2.9% for ages and just topped up with 1.2m more shares."

From the evidence you look very close to the truth there :)

As you can see below, Fidelity have been buying heavily since last October, an average of nearly 2m a month !!, most likely CF3 was right about the big buyer like you say.

The good points to note are that several different fund managers, not just in different offices but in several jurisdictions, have picked SEO stock for their own funds and for their own reasons, very positive in my mind.

Total held on 31 October 2005 ------- 17,996,957

Oh stop playing games, JJS - you've met Paulwotsisface and he's a very nice man?
Well of course - you and he are one and the same and that's the end of it, so move on.

oblomov - 07 May 2006 08:40 - 16324 of 27111

Thanks for that, JJS. Your most useful post to date, IMO. SOme facts at last.

garyble - 07 May 2006 10:21 - 16325 of 27111

Zscrooge,

I do hope you're also having a bit of fun as well as EWR and myself.

The 1.25 sp came from a misquoted trade entry on this website {trades page} pointed out by myself.

SO lets look forward to 25p before we start talking of s.

Lets look forward to 15P before we start talking of 25p!!

JJS - 07 May 2006 14:46 - 16327 of 27111

chocolat,

Yes I have met him, we have a similar hair colour, and thats about it.

JJS - 07 May 2006 14:54 - 16328 of 27111

Oblomov,

It now looks very likely Fidelity were indeed the big buyer, pushing the price down as the MMs worked their order(s), and as the price is still being played with(movement on no reported volume, and no big trades late in the day ?), they or some other biggie could still be accumulating, at the cost of PI stop losses.

The future looks good for SEO as far as funds are concerned, as they have years to run to maturity, some have tens of years, so Fidelity and other big institutions don't care about causing a price drop in order to fill a big order now, and get the stock into those funds at the lowest price they can get.

oblomov - 07 May 2006 17:07 - 16329 of 27111

Yes, JJS, I agree. This is still by far the most encouraging news of the week for me. I wasn't aware till now Fidelity had bought in.

JJS - 07 May 2006 17:32 - 16330 of 27111

Oblomov,

You might also find this very encouraging. I just had an E-mail from PM1 to say that Stanelco will be 'Co Hosts' of The 2nd Annual Sustainable Packaging Forum, September 26-28 2006, alongside Tetrapak

This is shown at the bottom of this page http://bnpevents.com/PS/2006/SPF/index.htm

EWRobson - 07 May 2006 22:43 - 16331 of 27111

JJS. I think PM's credibility is improving. He gave the news re the WalMart and Tyson visit and we then have it confirmed at the AGM together with the Perseco talks. However, I wonder if there is any justification for thinking these will turn into business in the short term. Its also an interesting suggestion that the MMs deliberately reduce the price to cause forced sales through exercising stop losses; hadn't thought of that - never believed in the SL and there seems poetic justice in it being used in this way.

Still puzzled about the Greenseal comments re an ASDA extension which didn't seem to fit with the positive visit of WalMart to Gardners. Can any others who were there who might have heard the comments clearly?

Also agree the 25p target for this year. Mind, I do suggest that once this share starts moving it will have a long run up, putting behind it the previous peak.

Eric

JJS - 07 May 2006 23:07 - 16332 of 27111

EWRobson,

It was Grampian Foods they visited :)

The AGM statement looked to me like thay were in late stage talks with Perseco, to conclude the deal on integrating Starpol into Perseco's supply chain, by the creation of the micro manufacturing facilities. I do think Perseco will be stumping up a large amount of cash, for a cut of the profit.

The other thing they said was talks with Wal*Mart on trials of Starpol 2000/3000/wrap, and that also implied a trial period would be decided, and hopefully announced.

Oblomov,

If you like the fact that Fidelity have been buying, you might be even more impressed to see that their CEO has been buying too, and he is a multi-billionaire !

Thanks, JJS.

I see that old chestnut of the MM's manipulating the SP (EWRobson, above).

This one comes up time and time again. My understanding is that the SP is set purely by 'supply and demand', and cannot be manipulated by the MM's under sets.

Can someone in the know give us verse and chapter on this , please?

JJS - 08 May 2006 08:47 - 16335 of 27111

Oblomov,

As I understand it any MM can play SETS just like thay can their own book, all they have to do is put in all their buy orders at lower prices than the current offer, and wait for someone to oblige, eventually the price is walked down.

Oilywag - 08 May 2006 09:34 - 16336 of 27111

JJS

Do you work for a firm of stockbrokers?

The oily one

garyble - 08 May 2006 10:00 - 16337 of 27111

JJS,

How do you or PM1 know ECJ has been buying SEO? and if he has what's his holding?

greekman - 08 May 2006 11:15 - 16338 of 27111

Sorry to go off thread but anyone else having problems re links. Each time I click on a link ( such as thread list, stockwatch etc ) I have to re log in.

Tonyrelaxes - 08 May 2006 11:30 - 16339 of 27111

Garyble

The final paragraph of wednesdays RNS -
"This notifiable interest also comprises the notifiable interest of Mr Edward C.
Johnson III, a principal shareholder of Fidelity International Limited, and
interests held on behalf of authorised unit trust schemes in the United Kingdom."

I am told this is included on all Fidelity's such notifications. It is less than clear if he has a notifiable interest, or indeed any interest in his own right.

As the total is only 0.11% over the notification threshold of 3%, ECJ and Fidelity cannot both have a notifiable interest.

I suspect the paragraph is a "catch all" to avoid any possible omission. Or, if he has some, this refers to his total voting rights, own name investment and clients funds invested through companies under his control.

EWRobson - 08 May 2006 12:02 - 16340 of 27111

Tony / JJS. Fidelity have some 14% of ASOS and 14% of Alizyme whilst the same statement is included for Johnson. Given the size of his personal wealth it is probably not unreasonable to assume that he has a personal stake included in the notifiable total of each company: the assumption is that he has personal involvement in investment decisions. ASC and AZM are longer established so it might also be reasonable to expect Fidelity to build up stake to around the 13% level over a period of time; they must have something of an insider view.

Eric

EWRobson - 08 May 2006 12:36 - 16341 of 27111

Testing the support level yet again. Given news on on-going negotiations would appear risky ploy for shorting effort to drive through this level. Thus an argument for topping up (or averaging down).
