Thanks, JJS.
I see that old chestnut of the MM's manipulating the SP (EWRobson, above).
This one comes up time and time again. My understanding is that the SP is set purely by 'supply and demand', and cannot be manipulated by the MM's under sets.
Can someone in the know give us verse and chapter on this , please?

Oblomov,
As I understand it any MM can play SETS just like thay can their own book, all they have to do is put in all their buy orders at lower prices than the current offer, and wait for someone to oblige, eventually the price is walked down.

The final paragraph of wednesdays RNS -
"This notifiable interest also comprises the notifiable interest of Mr Edward C.
Johnson III, a principal shareholder of Fidelity International Limited, and
interests held on behalf of authorised unit trust schemes in the United Kingdom."
I am told this is included on all Fidelity's such notifications. It is less than clear if he has a notifiable interest, or indeed any interest in his own right.
As the total is only 0.11% over the notification threshold of 3%, ECJ and Fidelity cannot both have a notifiable interest.
I suspect the paragraph is a "catch all" to avoid any possible omission. Or, if he has some, this refers to his total voting rights, own name investment and clients funds invested through companies under his control.

Tony / JJS. Fidelity have some 14% of ASOS and 14% of Alizyme whilst the same statement is included for Johnson. Given the size of his personal wealth it is probably not unreasonable to assume that he has a personal stake included in the notifiable total of each company: the assumption is that he has personal involvement in investment decisions. ASC and AZM are longer established so it might also be reasonable to expect Fidelity to build up stake to around the 13% level over a period of time; they must have something of an insider view.

Testing the support level yet again. Given news on on-going negotiations would appear risky ploy for shorting effort to drive through this level. Thus an argument for topping up (or averaging down).

All this up a quarter then down a quarter just looks so much like the MMs still working larger orders, ie Fidelity still buying at the cost of PI stop losses.
There must have been plenty of CFDs and spread bets gone recently, and if the company providing them had hedged the stock, that has also been freed up for Fidelity or others to buy.
Roll on some news, I hope it comes this week, tuesday is newsday again ?

It used to be. You remind me of a line from an Ella Fitzgerald song ".. maybe tuesday will be my good news day..."
Or as she sang it toosday and noosday. The man I love, G&I Gershwin

Not seen so many sell orders on the Sets system ever re this share.
There are 12 orders of 50,000, 1 of 100,00 and 1 of 23,000 all at 13p with a few over that price. On the buy side there are only 3 on Sets.
No view, just stating a fact.
