Bioprogress (BPRG)

scorpion - 13 Aug 2003 13:54

Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

Stanelco plc ("Stanelco")

Statement re Court Case

Judgement was given today in an application made by Stanelco RF Technologies
Limited as part of its long running dispute with BioProgress Technology Limited.
The judgement related to an application by Stanelco for the court to consider
further documents, which had come to light since the judgement in the main
action was handed down.

The court decided that it would not consider the further documents and
BioProgress was awarded some of its costs (GBP18,000). More importantly, Stanelco
was given leave to appeal the judge's decision.

Stanelco's Chief Executive Ian Balchin said today: "There are a number of
important issues yet to be resolved in this case including the extent of
BioProgress's claim for damages and an application by Stanelco for leave to
appeal the main judgement. We don't see this matter being finalised for a long
time yet.

In the meantime Stanelco is focusing the majority of its efforts on
commercialising its food tray lidding technology in conjunction with strategic
partners and we expect to be able to announce more on this in the near future."

GH if your listening, tomorrow would be an excellent day for the first of these contract rns statements.

The Warner-Chilcot one would be best :)

Dil - 09 Dec 2004 14:51 - 1642 of 2372

GH if your reading .... shouldn't you be doing something more constructive ???

johngtudor - 09 Dec 2004 14:58 - 1643 of 2372

Seems to me that if Stanelco drag this out any more, it will only increase the amount of damages they will end up paying, especially as the nice 'Judge Floyd QC' said they could only appeal against the 'Confidentiality' issue that today's judgement was based on. They can drag this out as long as they want to because the law allows for that to happen, but bottom line surely is for them to have no more management distraction fighting the case must cause, and get on with runnning their business, and making it successful as I am sure they will do.

Dil - 09 Dec 2004 15:06 - 1644 of 2372

A few of you are missing the point here ... a few quid extra in damages is hardly likely to shift the share price but a drawn out case could.

mickeyskint - 09 Dec 2004 15:06 - 1645 of 2372

Definitely time to move on.

MS

Big Al - 09 Dec 2004 20:44 - 1646 of 2372

18k? Is that it?

Always said this was a red herring. Not keen to be long of either of them to be honest.

johngtudor - 09 Dec 2004 22:01 - 1647 of 2372

Big Al: 18K for court costs and expenses. Damages to be assessed once Stanelco release the relevant paperwork. Bio will then have to present the figure to the court for approval, but you can expect it to be 'mega'! John

Big Al - 10 Dec 2004 07:35 - 1648 of 2372

Will keep an eye on it as usual, John! ;-)

DSTOREY9916 - 10 Dec 2004 15:59 - 1649 of 2372

Sp being kept artificially low!! Wonder who parasite MMs are doing the favour for?

Dil - 10 Dec 2004 16:30 - 1650 of 2372

Get real.

DSTOREY9916 - 10 Dec 2004 16:41 - 1651 of 2372

Sorry that not fit in with your slant on things, tough!

Dil - 10 Dec 2004 16:47 - 1652 of 2372

No , I just think your talking boll*x.

Big Al - 10 Dec 2004 17:56 - 1653 of 2372

DSTOREY - there was massive volume on the way down, whichj will need to be worked off before any rise can happen.

MM's run a balanced book by and large and to say it's being held down artificially is simply not the case. Everyone needs to understand the workings of the market to get the real picture and that isn't it, I'm afraid.

Al
;-)

Dil - 10 Dec 2004 18:11 - 1654 of 2372

Thats what I said :-)

Big Al - 10 Dec 2004 20:02 - 1655 of 2372

You're far more succinct than me! ;-))
