VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

Vane Minerals PLC
07 March 2005

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

Why was there a price spike in the mid 70's ?

TheFrenchConnection - 16 Apr 2007 06:53 - 1637 of 2220

Due mostly in part to commodoties bull market between approx end of 74 and 1980 , and greatlyexcerbated by middle east oil crisis , plus UK govt lied- as always - and said only 20 years of coal remained, cold war, and usa oil production was peaking ,,,and nuclear bacame flavour of the month ,,,,,Also countries like USA, UK and especially France( which is about 80% nuke powered) were buying heavily,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,U308 is the only heavy metal that will power nuke stations ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,\ot \talking of coal - any particular favourites ?

TheFrenchConnection - 16 Apr 2007 09:10 - 1638 of 2220

This is a real runaway .....offer @ 34.5

goldfinger - 16 Apr 2007 09:36 - 1639 of 2220

In the Telegraph today.....

The AIM Market:
*Rush of new money brings smaller stocks to life (Uramin (UMN.L), Vane Minerals (VML.L), UrAsia Energy (UUU.L)).

hlyeo98 - 16 Apr 2007 14:50 - 1641 of 2220

Good day to buy Vane...I've added today.

cynic - 16 Apr 2007 15:02 - 1642 of 2220

most assuredly a good day to be holding VML (and UMN for that matter), but would not be able to convince myself to dive in at this level.

hlyeo98 - 16 Apr 2007 15:06 - 1643 of 2220

I'm thinking about buying UMN at 292p...what do u think, cynic?

cynic - 16 Apr 2007 15:16 - 1644 of 2220

bloody hell ...... was it not hard enough to get me into UMN and VML in the first place! (ROTFL) ...... let me have a look at the UMN chart, though i suspect sp has bolted through all obvious resistances

hlyeo98 - 16 Apr 2007 15:30 - 1645 of 2220

LOL...if it's not for us, you would not have made some dosh. Apparently UMN and VML and UUU in the Telegraph today. Have you look at it?

cynic - 16 Apr 2007 15:44 - 1646 of 2220

'fraid not, but 2 stocks that are already performing well in this sector will suffice methinks

hlyeo98 - 16 Apr 2007 15:57 - 1647 of 2220

...and Barclays also in VML. More upside to come. Glad I top up.

doughboy66 - 16 Apr 2007 16:01 - 1648 of 2220

I do believe that is a small decrease in their holding.

cynic - 16 Apr 2007 16:04 - 1649 of 2220

my original stake was about 60/65% of my norm and with the recent surge, it seems to me that i would arguably be risking more than the likely gain ...... unless of course VML becomes a t/o target in the immediate future.

aldwickk - 16 Apr 2007 17:04 - 1650 of 2220

Not profit taking by Barclays already ?

driver - 16 Apr 2007 17:08 - 1651 of 2220

Anyone looked at INdia Star Energy plc (INDY) another Uranium play.

fliper - 16 Apr 2007 19:17 - 1652 of 2220

Cannot see barclays profit taking , more like they are moving money around for other shares . The small amount sold says , they are positive about vml .

bhunt1910 - 16 Apr 2007 19:27 - 1653 of 2220

Surely shares held by BSL are those held on behalf of others in their nominee accounts ??

goldfinger - 16 Apr 2007 23:11 - 1654 of 2220

Good point Basa.

And would show that demand is rife but sensible types are taking top slice profits.

TheFrenchConnection - 17 Apr 2007 01:37 - 1655 of 2220

BHUNT .. May l call you Basa ? and G/F > l totally agree with both of your points .Absolutely. A couple of little nuggets for you to mull over. Your PM Blair stated on the 16th May 2006 that nuclear was "back with a vegeance " Now heres a man in possession of all the facts reg.the forecoming dual crisis reg both energy shortage and carbon emmissions . l thought at the time that was a very strange thing for a PM to admit . l didnt pay it much heed at the time . But i never forgot. This feeling was compounded and forced me to act on U308 when in the middle of the medias obcessive frenzied interest in "Whens Tony resigning " scenario he appeared on TV "Hard Talk" and went out of his way to tell everyone that without nuclear power the lights would go out and its bloody awful implications . lt scared the shit out of me but the interviwer s remit was to get an idea of Tonys departure from Downing St and the nuclear issue was passed over. . ...Now as much as Blairs character is flawwed he very rarely makes such verbal blunders. He is too well briefed. But this was a "blunder" of the highest order. Or was it ? Was it really ? Methinks not . l thought at the time he was indirectly making it difficult for Browne to convince people , who after both 3 mile lsland ,and especially, Chernoby, who despise nuclear power, to accept it . But he wasnt . He was paving the way for the British peoples to grow accustomed to it in order to make it easiar for Brown ( as much as he HATES THE MAN ) .lncidentally Gordons brother is leading the bid on behalf of Eons NOMAD and advisers to BUY DRAX .....l repeat - this is a non brainer. U308 cant be speculated upon as EVERY SINGLE OUNCE ( let alone a pound )has to be catalogued. So we wont suddenly see tons of the stuff appearing out of a 100 Dutch warehouses as happened with copper . And we know that demand exceeds supply by a massive 52%.And this will only worsen . Power stations dictate price terms not commodoties traders. All this smacks of the hi tec days with daily movement of 200% ,,lol ..lt makes the oil hike of 2002/2006 or the recent copper and zinc boom look trite and irrelevent as investments ..BUT WITHOUT ANY RISK !! .NON !!!!! l usually never divulge a buy before i do it but l am looking (after top splicing) to get back in very heavily at the 25/26 level lf at all possible !!! And without wishing to sound egotistical but rather to illustrate how bullish i am , i dont mean a few hundred thousand . l am talking in perhaps say 2/3 million . Those who know me know i dont ever fu** about .. ......Piddling around with a 100,000 or so would only wind me up when l know this is as certain as they EVER come ..And you wont get it ANY BETTER or EASIAR than in U308 ..Who dares wins is a truism .. ! Also buying positions in a few other uranium plays i havent already got !!!!!!!.BUT AT THE RIGHT PRICE as both UUU and UMN look really pricey ! ADYOR . ,,,@+ J ....................,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, .....G/F ...Have you seen the silver grades at MIO ? Cant understand its stagnation esp. today when even the dross of mining companies went up l agree.Placer Dome is top drawer good as is MNA but i want a junior who have loads of potential and is trading well below 180 day average AND with a bright future. And the old chestnut Mincos Bilbao project in mexico has average grades of 1 full pound per ton and one hole has a metre intersection of a phenomenol 2.3 KG p/t .ln addition they have a JORC compliaced resource of 32 million ozs in La Laguna Zacatecana ..Also they have recently intersected a massive zinc and lead mineralization at Pallas Green ,,,,Definately worthy of attention at this level ,,,Any views /comments ?
