These awards all boil down to publicity, and like they say "all publicity is good publicity"........
Oblomov - best not to bother with a new Bentley, they lose too much money as soon as you take ownership. Now I imagine the new mini be more your cup of tea and surprisingly they hold their value extreamily well.

I bet Terry can't vote on products he is connected with.
Awards are good because you can add them to the product sales blurb, to impress prospective buyers even more. Also the industry takes more notice of your product, seeing the wood through the trees as it were.

Explosive, why should I care about the Bentley holding its value? I wont need to when SEO hits the 25 SP, which JJS has predicted!
A mini? Not worth trading the bike in for!
JJS, you clearly like awards so I award you Golden Ramper Award - your prize is a keyboard with solid gold cut and paste keys. Well done!

Oblomov,
I award you the golden nob of 2006, for being a total plonker !
Now amend your previous post, unless you can prove I ever said SEO would hit 25, which you know full well I didn't.

Driver,
Sainsbury's could be buying their bags from a number of manufacturers, and SPHere are more likely to sell them the bags than Stanelco, I would ignore it.

I read about Tescos wanting to be "a better neighbour", so on Sunday I nipped to my local Tescos and asked them if I could borrow a cup of sugar and would they cut the lawn and water the plants while I go on my hols and they threw me out!!
Not much of a better neighbour, then.

Stanelco in US talks on biodegradeable polymers
By Greg Pitcher
10/05/2006
The UK company is hoping for big sales into the US retail market.
10 May 2006 UK company Stanelco is holding talks about its Starpol biodegradeable materials with six extrusion and thermoforming companies in the US, which supply packaging to a major supermarket and a top fast-food manufacturer.
Stanelco is hoping to license its Starpol technology to the suppliers in return for a share of the profit.
Chief executive Martin Wagner told PRW.com: This supermarket alone could order hundreds of thousands of tonnes of material, and we do not have the capacity, so we are talking to its suppliers about licensing them our technology.
There is slower progress in Stanelcos Greenseal technology. Deals were signed for the radio frequency sealing technology in July 2005, but Stanelco admits it has still not made its first delivery.
Wagner said: We were slightly nae thinking it would be easy to retrofit machines. We had to buy replacement machines in the end which took three months but now we are up and running.
We will be placing the first contracted machine in the next eight weeks.

"Slightly naive" is the understatement of the year. It was obvious they would need to buy replacement machines right from the start to anyone with the slightest bit of common sense. Instead they tried to blag it! This shows very bad management and direction. Just being told to get on with it without the resouorces is symptomatic of poor leadership. How were they going to sell any greenseal product until the macheines had been converted? The Asda conversions should have been completed months ago and greenseal being shipped to provide revenue from product. Talk about goin off half cocked, a new MD is needed, one with feet nearly touching the groound.

Bit of a sticky wicket me thinks! ASDA will most likely want at least an equivelant extension to the exclusivity period, having enabled/assisted SEO to prove their technology. Also with WM looking to go GS/Starpol, SEO would not wish to upset the apple cart by catering to the likes of Tesco in the short-term.
I'm sure the other Supermarkets must be watching and waiting, and also happy that ASDA has been the testing ground for them.
ONE "contract" conversion within the year is better than none. It also serves as a milestone, marking the point at which the technology has become commercially viable.
Views anyone.

What happened to the 80+ that were promised to go live as per some months ago. I'm sure I read that somewhere.
As for the Starpol and hundreds of thousands of tonnes then this is superb news (if it materialises). Interesting that the orders of tonnage will exceed even SEO's predictions (hence why they will have to outsource the manufacturing and sell the IP).
