Hilary

Does that mean that you can use your small change to make a counter offer for CAV?!!

jeffmack - 05 Jul 2003 19:26 - 1645 of 23498

Evening, been a fine day today. Off to Devon tomorrow. Going to take in a large Antique fair on the way in Exeter then on to Salcombe for a couple of days

This_is_me - 05 Jul 2003 22:14 - 1646 of 23498

Hope you get a good offer for the wife's mother at the fair!

Socrates - 05 Jul 2003 22:14 - 1647 of 23498

Jeffmack
Don't go buying aany large antiques.

hilary - 06 Jul 2003 10:09 - 1648 of 23498

Enjoy your short break, Jeff.

Around 20 years ago, I used to live just outside of Exeter in a sleepy little village called Morchard Bishop. My house was famous for the fact that it formed part of the longest thatch in England. Devon is a lovely part of the country and I really should go down there and visit some friends. It's considerably easier for us to hop across to France though, so it's unfortunately one of those things which gets pushed back from one year to the next.

Hang on, who said he hadn't?

Socrates - 07 Jul 2003 17:55 - 1652 of 23498

Another very quiet day in the bistro. I'll just have a small brew and put my feet up. If anyone comes in for a chat just give me a nudge and wake me up.

jgp212 - 07 Jul 2003 21:14 - 1653 of 23498

Good Evening Everybody!

Missed you lot very much indeed and the reason why is that I’ve been
Bloody knackered and worn out and decided to spend three weeks in
South Africa (J’Borg and Pretoria) which made matters worse!

J’Borg and Pretoria is a shambles and everybody lives in fear and the
Security firms are making stacks of dosh!

I visited my house in J’Borg and what a prison!!

My father in law suffered a gunshot wound in his shoulder and thank god
He is OK!

My Auntie was robbed and is very upset indeed and traumatised!

Anyway the good news is:

! My daughter prepares for prep school in Sep and had a “Taster Day” and she
Loved it

2. Traded CS and made a few bob!

3. My wife passed her GP exams first time and became a consultant in Obstetrics
and Gynaecology!

4. Back to day trading and making little profits and being very cautious

Best of luck to all and where is the Bolly?

Jeff

Evening All
Socs, ended up buying an old rusty bench from the antique fair, cost me 150, but her indoors is well pleased so money well spent.

Ended up staying in Dartmouth, which was very beautiful, had a great couple of days.

So GD is OK, which is good news.

Jeff, sorry to hear about your troubles, but lots of good news as well, so onward and upwards.

hilary - 08 Jul 2003 21:44 - 1656 of 23498

Blimey Jeffmack. I could've got you a new one for less and you wouldn't need to waste time painting it!!!!!!!!!!!

jgp,

So Fish Fingers are off the menu then?

:-)

jgp212 - 08 Jul 2003 21:59 - 1657 of 23498

Socrates - 09 Jul 2003 17:40 - 1658 of 23498

Hello all, good to see I'm not the only one who buys second hand junk!

My best trade today was when NMS cancelled my warrants. That 10p has been cluttering up my portfolio for longer than I care to remember.

Happy birthday jgp212, 21 today!

Hilary
Has RDW appeared on your list. I've held it certificated for years and can't be bothered to sell it. It just seems to go on going on upwards, but looks like a buy on my charts today. Nice (little) dividend every so often and if you hold enough shares you get 1% discount off a new hutch.

Jeff
I hate to tell you this but when the guy said "one-fifty" he meant 1:50, he must have thought Christmas had come early. I hope you bargained hard, they never expect anyone to pay the opening offer.

It's too hot for tea, what shall we have. Iced real lemonade, chilled VC or how about one of the fancy cocktails with an umbrella in it?

jeffmack - 09 Jul 2003 17:55 - 1659 of 23498

Jeff
Happy Birthday mate.

Socs, it was up for 195, so bit of haggling. Had to drive it around Devon afterwards

hilary - 09 Jul 2003 18:13 - 1660 of 23498

Hello Socs,

Funny you should mention RDW ......... I've just finished my list for tomorrow and there it is along with WBY! As I recall, I did mention on this thread a little while back that it might be an idea to stock up with some housebuilders.

Jeffmack,

Couldn't you have put some castors on it and given it a tow?

:-)

HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY TO JGP212!!

edit: Hmmm. Why doesn't the slash td html trick work on this thread?

Socrates - 09 Jul 2003 21:03 - 1661 of 23498

Hilary
I don't know about stock up with housebuilders, bit of an iffy question at present. I do like to keep RDW though. It's one of my first buys from when they floated at 1.30 in May 94 I think, goodness that's last century.

Jeff
Well done, nice deal.

jgp212 - 10 Jul 2003 04:03 - 1662 of 23498

Many thanks for the Birthday wishes!!!

My head is spinning!!

Sparkly water for the next few says and plenty

of Vit C!!

:-) or should it be :-(

Have a good trading day all!!

Jeff
