Only one England starting eleven for me now, if Owen is out for the tournament.
Robinson in goal, Beckham right back, Cole at left back, Terry and Ferdinand (if fit - Campbell if not) at centre backs. A midfield (left to right) of Cole, Gerrard, Lampard and Lennon. Rooney and Crouch up front.
Walcott ready to get involved when Rooney tires or Crouch looks to be not good enough.
With a question mark over Crouch, that team still looks good enough to go a long way. Pace on the right, trickery on the left, proven goalscorers in front and in midfield and an apparantly solid defence (though you wouldn't think it from last night).

If I'm Stupid so is his club manager.
Thats where he plays for Madrid, and where he has played for England in the past, including the last 20 mins against paraguay (or was it T&T). You know. The bit where we started to look good as a team.
Are you completely certifiable?
Don't answer that. I already know you are.

BTW.
In answer to the question am I stupid. I am as barking as a tree full of monkeys, but even I wouldn't have taken Hargreaves in my squad.

alan, i don't know how you can be so scathing about hargreaves, i thought he had a storming game against sweden. there's a lot to be said for playing people in their best positions to get the best out of them. maybe sven has finally twigged that simple idea. i beckham will be happier when neville gets fit again and playing. the two combine well on the right flank. anyway, stop feckin' complaining ....at least you're through.

BTW Bos.
I don't have a mega downer on Hargreaves. I just don't think hes any good. I don't like the holding midfielder formation at the best of times but if we must play it why not take Ledley King?
I am sure Hargreaves is a very good player in German football, but he is out of his depth here. i would be so much happier seeing the 4-4-2 formation I posted last night.
Imagine facing a team on tha attack that had the 2 coles down the left, becks and Lennon down the right, Rooney and the jolly green giant through the middle and if you could cope with that lot, Gerard and Lampard walloping them from 30 yards just to keep the keepers fingers warm.
Terry could muscle around in the area for set pieces and Robinson could take the night off. That just leaves Ferdinand at the back doing camel impressions and wondering where he left that urine sample.
Result is 4 easy victories and a big party in Trafalgar square. Whats difficult about that?
