certainly on SOLA i am, but along with the rest of the world, am taking a bashing on other holdings ....... greed tempts me to increase SOLA short again, but that could be tempting fate

ran a small FTSE short o'night, but closed it this morning when markets looked to be stabilising ...... relatively modest profit, but better that than the reverse ...... i actually suspect US figures will show the fear to be overdone with a subsequent sharp upward correction ...... figures may even presage a cut in US rates ..... anyway, Dow likley to be all over the place yet again.

Seems strange but still not convinced this is a bear market, looks to be too many stocks on low P/Es.

if you are only down 8% overall, you have done very very well indeed when even bluechips are getting a pasting

Because I mostly follow boring stocks with a contrarian view.

38.2% Fibonacci support is at 294p, below that 212p. If these downward moves continue the 50dma is already encroaching on the 200dma, although the 200dma is not currently pointing downwards, so it wouldn't be a "true" dead cross in my book unless we see this starting to dip.
