From Counterpunch a Political Newsletter

Wal-Mart's Coming Lunge into Organic Food

Here we go. Wal-Mart's planning to move strongly into organic food. The company's CEO, Lee Scott said at Wal-Mart's last annual general meeting, "We know that customers at all ends of the income spectrum want organic and natural food.
"Last fall, the Organic Trade Assn., which represents corporations like Kraft, Dole, and Dean Foods, lobbied to attach a rider to the 2006 Agricultural Appropriations Bill that would weaken the nation's organic food standards by allowing certain synthetic food substances in the preparation, processing, and packaging of organic foods. That sparked outrage from organic activists. Nevertheless, the bill passed into law in November, and the new standards will go into effect later this year."

End of Extract.... Now if Starpol takes the place of any none bio gradeable packaging, this would surely be more acceptable to the Organic Food brigade.

I wonder if this is one of the reasons, Walmart are looking at SEO products to steal a march on their competitors. Just a thought.

Are you going to answer the question asked of you in post 16567 at 14.02 today?

Wal-Mart deserve Morgan Spurlock.

You claimed insider knowledge on EVS to underpin your positive spin on its prospects against all sensible analysis from others. It subsequently ceased trading.

EVO ditched seo, i know the details but they are not all important. EVO were also not happy with delays on news and decided they did not have time and the manpower to cover it. Yes they do have a shortage on the small cap team. This does not effect the long term story and the potential of this company. also a point was made to the comments to the magazine article last week where a commercial installation was mentioned within 8 weeks, this was not appreciated. SEo had not attracted any institutional investors, as they should have by now, but again this is blamed on lack of news. So in all Evo's had good reason to end the relationship, and 5 brokers is not good reading to any instituional investors.

Couldn't resist it, guys. Despite all I have been saying, I bought a few more yesterday at 11.9p. Too much of a bargain for me to ignore.
Now slap my wrists and take my credit cards and wallet away, cos I'm a very naughty boy.

bosley - 16 May 2006 08:52 - 16581 of 27111

alan, i'm sure H will punish you later ;)

hewittalan6 - 16 May 2006 08:57 - 16582 of 27111

I do hope so. It will have been worth every penny!!

No great disparity between buys and sells and a fair amount of trades, but still the SP drops. Anyone have any explanations for this?

johnny the fox - 16 May 2006 12:07 - 16584 of 27111

Might be a drop to trigger stop losses. Short of stock? News coming? Big buy order? Big sell lurking 'till close? Anyone's guess. Certainly no apparent reason for sudden sp fall. All imho of course.

oblomov - 16 May 2006 14:32 - 16585 of 27111

Buys now outnumbering sells by almost 2 to 1 - and guess what the SP is doing!

EWRobson - 16 May 2006 14:43 - 16586 of 27111

Early fall in sp was understandable with considerable selling volume, presumably including shorting. The sp has not recovered despite cumulative buys being double sells. Most likely explanation is that MMs are working substantial sell order(s). Presumably all will be clear by the close. It is encouraging that the sp has brought out good support. Can't all be Alan!

Nah, Eric. Bought both my new shares yesterday.

two days two rns's... lets see what the morning brings...
was sorely tempted to raid the piggybank, but I'd like to see some positive news first.

robinhood - 16 May 2006 16:54 - 16589 of 27111

this time last year sp was 30 now 11.25 with good products to be rolled out. Think SEO should get their fingers out as more and more investors are getting fed up with material progress
