But very bad if youre holding driver, like i am. and i would never sacrifice any more of my money to Seo.

explosive - 18 May 2006 17:10 - 16658 of 27111

Pinnacle - just about every share on the FTSE 100 has fallen this week. Do you expect directors in all these companies to start buying to show support against a falling sp? Of course not, theres no reason for them to, nothing to suggest that extraordinary business activities have occured that can be linked to the sp!

pinnacle - 18 May 2006 17:23 - 16659 of 27111

Explosive-Fair comment - but SEO are not a FTSE 100 company!

I am looking for only the directors of stanelco to buy - wouldn't you if you were so confident of the future of the business?

I do think something is wrong - after the positive statement at the AGM the price should have at least held it's own not collapsed.

hewittalan6 - 18 May 2006 17:30 - 16660 of 27111

No I'm here Driver. Hols start on 28th June. Mexico here we come!!
Not been on-line all day cos BT had problems at our exchange.
Not a good day to be out of contact from a dealing point of view, but I had already taken the decision to bite the bullet and sit tight.
Its cost me about 6% this week, but I had had a good run for a month or two before that so I am still up over 11% on a rolling year basis. Quite content at that, and I have a lousy track record at trying to time the market, so all in all, not too bothered. More bothered that I've had the shits all day, to be honest.
Chin up guys. A good stock is a good stock, regardless of market sentiment. A company is worth the same whether the market is running scared or not. If you bought your portfolio on fundamentals then there is nothing to worry about, its just a time thing. If you are speculating, as we all are on SEO, then so what. You should only be in for what you can afford to lose outright anyway.
Very content at this end and now I await those who are nursing huge losses to have a pop at me for suggesting that time heals all, and that speculative stocks are just that. Speculative.

Bos
You had better keep an eye on this I know you want to get back in you must feel a bit naked on the out side.

oblomov - 18 May 2006 18:25 - 16667 of 27111

Dont panic, Mr Mainwaring!

TB basically says SEO caught in the crossfire of the market falling this week, dont panic.

Easier said than done!!!!

bosley - 18 May 2006 18:41 - 16668 of 27111

driver, back to single figures and it might get a bit interesting.

soul traders - 18 May 2006 19:27 - 16669 of 27111

Al, I too am pleased you're still around - was beginning to worry you might have hung yourself from a light-fitting. So glad it was only the runs keeping you from your computer - indeed thank you for sharing. If it turns out to be a protracted bout, may I suggest investing in a laptop that you can take with you to the dunny?

Bosley, I agree - sub 10p could really cause a panic. A quick shufti at the chart says down again tomorrow?

Tonyrelaxes - 18 May 2006 19:53 - 16670 of 27111

pinnacle

You are not seeing Directors buying at these levels for the simple reason, I believe, they are in a Closed Period - between Half year end 30 April and Interim results being announced and as such they cannot buy or sell shares.

At the last year end they already held some 6m shares and a further 38m shares within Share Option Schemes. The exercise prices vary between 2.25p and 10.25p. A further 25m share options exist for "benefit of all Directors and Employees" at 7.13p to 14p

I think they have enough incentive to see the Company succeed. At the AGM, the Chairman did make the point that they are not drawing huge salaries.

greekman - 18 May 2006 21:39 - 16671 of 27111

Tonyrelaxes,

You are correct, as you say SEO are in the closed period.

bosley - 18 May 2006 22:46 - 16672 of 27111

soultraders, i was thinking more along the lines of, sub 10p and it might be worth getting back in again.

tonyrelaxes, what's the reason for so few director buys when they are not in a closed period?

pinnacle - 18 May 2006 23:32 - 16673 of 27111

tonyrelaxes - good point and thanks for the info - but bosley is right - why don't they buy when not in the closed period?

I am looking for the long term - it appears most of the above are trading shares daily to make a living - good luck to you all - I am hoping that over the next two years the gain will be worth the anguish of now - I firmly believe the company has ideas and concepts that are required for todays market - I know from experience that dealing with large companies for contracts takes time and patience and if it comes off while we are young enough to enjoy the gains then it has been worth it.

Tonyrelaxes - 19 May 2006 00:23 - 16674 of 27111

bos/pin

Perhaps with their existing shares and share options they feel fully covered.

If they do not earn huge salaries (and they do not) they might not have the available cash. To take up options incurs a paye/benefits tax liability that generally requires selling half of the take-up to remain cash neutral.

The original question I tried to answer was about present prices. The present low prices only arose (dropped!) in the closed period.

WOODIE - 19 May 2006 06:24 - 16675 of 27111

one of the reasons for the new down turn in the s/price is they are having trouble with several complexities that have delayed matters.the machine has not worked as well as expected .engineers are"fine tune the r&d elements" .also no profitis likely in 2007 but this might slip back until 2008 another negitive is if no profit until 2008 the company will have to go to the market to raise money.

My comments....This is the sort of comment Ross ( of friends fame ) would come out with. My chat up lines are about as good.

From the article.

Did you know that.....Cigarette butts are not only repulsive, they're a potent form of pollution. Environmentalists tell us that filters have a half-life only slightly shorter than plutonium. Even tobacco companies acknowledge that cigarette butts are a nuisance. According to the Ocean Conservancy, cigarette butts were the number one item collected during its 2004 annual International Coastal Clean-up.
