GOLD OIL PLC (GOO)

driver - 23 Feb 2006 15:42

GOLD OIL, the London-based oil exploration company focused on the South American and Caribbean region, announces that in late December 2005, the Company received an Operator Certificate from PeruPetro that allows the Company to carry out seismic, drilling and development operations in Northwest Peru.
The Promotion Licence signed with PeruPetro on October 15, 2004 with PeruPetro for Block XI (now renamed Block XXI) onshore Sechura Basin has been converted to an Exploration and Production Licence. The Licence now goes to the Ministry of Energy and Mines for approval, which could be forthcoming anytime between February and May of this year 2006.
The terms of the E&P Licence commit the Company to either shoot 120 km of 2D seismic or drill a well in the first period of five over a seven year term. The remaining four periods require the Company to either drill a well or drop the acreage. The Licence is for a term of 30 years for oil and 40 years for gas, with a minimum royalty of 5% on wellhead production for the first 5000bopd (30 MMscfd for gas) rising to 20% if and when production reaches 100,000 bopd (600 MMscfd for gas).

Times Article:
Gold Oil is valued in the market at about 15m. That is so small that almost any good news must have a big impact on the share price.
What are the chances of that happening? Run by a former Burmah Oil director, Mike Burchell, Gold Oil will drill the first in a series of wells in the Sechura Basin in April. There will be surprise if it does not find gas, as another company, Olympic, has done just that in a similar formation nearby.
The secondary target, later in the year, will be oil, I gather. A couple of months ago, Petro Tech made a big oil find offshore in the Sechura Basin. The theory is the oil may have migrated up into Gold Oils block. Dont ask me to explain the geology because I dont speak Palaeozoic. But a decent oil find here would be a company-maker.
Gold Oil has enough cash to fund this years drilling programme. And it already has a deal in place to sell its gas to Mann Ferrostaal, a German company that is building an ammonia plant nearby. Getting all that for 15m seemed a bargain to me. But Gold Oil still has to find its gas.

Some buys showing as sells..............as usual.

lizard - 11 Oct 2006 13:21 - 1667 of 4580

yes over the last few weeks a lot of trades have gone through at mid price some have bought on other thread (moneyam rival) at mid price some also have bought under mid price.

for example spread 8.25- 8.75 buy at 8.5p also under mid 8.48 and 8.49 are buys but showing as sells. crafty.

R88AVE - 11 Oct 2006 13:25 - 1668 of 4580

That is not on is it, that just goes to show its playing mind games again!

lizard - 11 Oct 2006 13:28 - 1669 of 4580

think the true spread is around 8.27- 8.48p.

R88AVE - 11 Oct 2006 13:33 - 1670 of 4580

So very tight this is then.....MM deciding which way to go....upwards of course!

lizard - 11 Oct 2006 13:35 - 1671 of 4580

just a quiet period imo not much volume. but now approaching mid /end oct weeks news is expected on a few fronts. so perhaps T traders will return. there are a few on rival thread waiting to put T25's on. considering it myself.

R88AVE - 11 Oct 2006 13:40 - 1672 of 4580

Lizard, I am a bit of novice here could you tell whats a 'T25'?

lizard - 11 Oct 2006 13:48 - 1673 of 4580

R88AVE- if you purchased now on a T25 (extended settlement) you would not have to pay for the stock until 15th November. or if you bought today at 8.5p and next week they were 10p you could close the trade without any finances from your side changing hands. if you keep to the date you will be required to pay the balance or if in profit close the trade and they will pay you. or if a loss and you close you pay the loss. traders often use T trades speculating on news flow, which is coming up for goo, hence i reckon a few will take a position or punt on goo activities (short term).

a t25 will now cover z34 xxi nbm and may be colombia deal news?. but may be worth leaving to early next week to extend the november deadline.

R88AVE - 11 Oct 2006 13:52 - 1674 of 4580

Lizard, very interesting with thanks.

lizard - 11 Oct 2006 13:56 - 1675 of 4580

i always do t25's (usually with a view to holding). this is usually only done over the telephone i use td waterhouse as a frequent trader i pay 16.95 for executing. only can get max t10 online so i will pay the extra 5 commission for sure 25 working days settlement gives me a month to pay the balance if this is the scenario.

if you think a stock is cheap and it wont be next month you can buy at this price now and pay this price next month.

laurie squash - 11 Oct 2006 14:10 - 1676 of 4580

Lizard
Isn,t the rate slightly higher than for a T10?

lizard - 11 Oct 2006 14:13 - 1677 of 4580

you may have to pay a small premium in the spread.

say spread 8.5 -9.0 for a t10 you would possibly pay around 8.9p but for a t25 possibly 10p or just under. but sometimes i am quoted same price for a t10 t20 or t25. but usually prepared to pay the small extra for long settlement.

laurie squash - 11 Oct 2006 14:18 - 1678 of 4580

Thanks!

Rereading the website news on Spain an update is due. And production figures from Colombia should be known soon.

tvc15 - 11 Oct 2006 15:35 - 1679 of 4580

8.45p to buy online.

lizard - 11 Oct 2006 16:10 - 1680 of 4580

would expect an rns on the programme for Burdine re entry of another 3 wells that require workovers. or maybe website update.

i expect now nancy is producing above target bpd and they have ecopetrol approval they will want the remaining 4 wells producing asap.

laurie squash - 11 Oct 2006 16:49 - 1681 of 4580

Yes it was more the website update I was looking at - last done 2nd October.

Is it legal turning a buy into a sell?
IMO opinion misleading at best to deliberate share manipulation.

More important to us - Why?

HARRYCAT - 11 Oct 2006 17:39 - 1682 of 4580

Am I right in saying that all 'buys' & 'sells' are assumed, based on the trade price.
On Selftrade they don't even assume. Based on the price you have to make your own assumption as to a buy or sell. All they indicate is a rising or falling trend.
I haven't seen a site where the trade information is 100% accurate. Presumably they exist???

lizard - 11 Oct 2006 20:43 - 1683 of 4580

the trading systems and the volume tabling dont understand how mm work imo. the trades at 8.45p today were buys yet showing as sells and therefore not one reported buy today. how do i know this because buyers on the advfn thread confirmed buying at these levels. i did a dummy also offered 8.45p.
it was the same yesterday with buys at 8.48p and 8.49p under mid price. tight spread they may have well just lowered the offer but trying to confuse pi's.

playing silly buggers imo just waiting for news flow now which is fast approaching.

R88AVE - 11 Oct 2006 20:49 - 1684 of 4580

It is very misleading for people like myself a novice. You are bound to worry when you see sea of red sells when some of them arent. What I cant understand why it is so far out the price difference on moneyam.
