The point over time, yes i find that interesting too. I don't have a clue but I would rather have my money in a more fluid stock thanks.
As for the other point, and this is the last I'll say about it as it does bore me as much as everyone else, I am 100% with you, I don't care what people think about my opinions either. I post on plenty of other boards and have some great debate but on Desire boards I get abuse for holding an honest opinion. Sorry but I have the right to defend myself and my family. How would you like it ? It's just bulling as far as I'm concerned only these people hide behind the anon allowed by these boards. I try to make a joke of it but if you read some of the comments they are not nice and I'm not proud of sinking to their level at times but I've never started anything with anyone and none of my posts have ever been removed have they.
Anyway it's about Des and not me, should we start a tote on when the rig news come in ? say 5 a go and winner takes all :-)

nomarkyar, this will now be the 3rd BB I have told you this, perhaps it will sink in and you'll stop stalking me with your abuse. Are you thinking hard ? when you are read the next line.
I will talk only about Desire Pet.
Now rest...

This business of seeing how many recs you can get is very childish.People will vote for a particular poster by way of recs because he or she says something they want to agree with."I think this is a great share and it will rocket" will get lots of recs but anyone saying differently won't and in fact will be vilified. One sad bloke over on iii gets very weepy if his posts are challenged and misreads even the simplest message as a personal slight on him because he so loves this share. The fact he even has Q+A sessions for people who want his opinion says it all really- who does he think he is for heavens sake- he forgets he is simply a punter like everyone else and knows no more or less than anyone else.
The point is that KO3 has a view which goes against the grain doesn't make his opinion any less valid.

Coeliac1, thanks for taking the trouble to post that mate. I wish more people would defend other posters when attacked for what is as you say is only another punter's opinion.
I'm no expert and I'm not perfect, all I try to do is bring my point of view and thats what these boards are for as I understand it. So other people can read picking up info and adding info as they see fit. That includes both the good and bad points of any company. How else can anyone make decsions if they don't look at all angles and then make their own mind up.
Some people seem to think I am making people sell their shares. It fills me with dread that anyone would make a decision based on my opinions without doing their own research. I know I would never do that no matter what was said on these boards. I'm sure most the people I've talked to on here are not as stupid as markyar and his friends think.
All the best and thanks again.

Hi all
Looks like the bears had their day today, took DES down to the rising support line. There is also support at 0.4025p which at the rising window. DES has closed under the 10 & 20 day moving average today. The candle has bearish implications, which could suggest further selling. However the moving averages are still moving up, and I think the rising window will give support. The three month up trend is still intact, I feel the markets intention is to continue with this trend.

KO3 and Marky
I am a bit surprised to see that Marky has put a note at the top of the page saying KO3 is a shorter and should be ignored! Is that because this is a board only for people who agree with Marky and are bulls or what? Marky do you have a large amount invested in this spec stock- too much maybe and are getting stressed as there is little to say while news of a rig is awaited?
Maybe people should be more accepting of alternative opinions.
Is it not better to have people with varying opinions in a bb? The price has been below the rights issue price almost all the time since it happened, so it is understandable that some people are not best pleased as it continues to stagnate. No point in being annoyed with people who can see the downside of what is, after all, a highly speculative stock.

Marky
I appreciate your remarks and note you set up the thread- but it is public rather than yours so you have to expect to receive adverse bull/bear remarks now and again
I for one find this thread much more illuminating and useful than iii which is peopled by spivs in my view.I have just noticed that they are blindly bullish to the extent that they are even reccing blank messages from the local self syled expert/guru who thinks he owns the board! There are only a couple of knowledgeable posters in iii out of the many and it is definitely not he who likes to have open house fireside chats with a glass or two of Tesco red! The pity is that some people can't accept any opinions other than the warmth of fellow bulls and I am pleased that you have a personal view which is substantiated in your comments.I agree also about the chartish opinions- I have never been overly gone on these things but they do add to the interest in here compared with iii as they show momentum, which I think is important along with news flow. That is the strength of this thread- both on the ground info and some charts. And interesting it is too, so thanks for setting it up. That applies to KO3 too, as he adds colour without, admittedly, huge substance but nevertheless I will happily read what he has to say. Its called keeping one's feet on the ground..

Blimy here we go again, sorry but I feel I do need to reply as my character has once again been attacked and also a notice has been placed which is a lie but also very stupid if you ask me.
So here are a few things about my postings on iii for those interest in the truth These can be verified by a visit to the is site
http://www.iii.co.uk/investment/detail?code=cotn:DES.L&display=discussion
If you are a member (free) you can then click on any username to view what they have said for the whole year. I have suggested the other names to show what abuse I have had from these people. Markyar also posted a number of abusive messages about my family & me on ADVFN. This resulted in me hunting him down on here. I have already apologised for that revenge posting. I report all posts I consider abusive so some will have been removed by iii support if they feel my complaint is valid. I have never has any of my posting removed but funny enough all these other people have.

Markyar to view theirs
Awok to view theirs

iii is a site where postings cant be edited or removed by the poster after the event I might add, read a few posting from each month. You see I am an average punter who has opinions and likes to express them freely. I welcome opposing views but not abuse ( I can give as good as I get there). You will see I have made mistakes, youll see I often say Im no expert on Des or Oil. Im not perfect; Im just someone who decided that this share although worth being in for the drill, would stagnate for 4-6 months. You will find a post to that effect some 5-6 months back in that archive.
Its from this point I really started to have problems on iii. Some people dont like you looking at the negatives. A smaller number will do almost anything to try and stop you expressing such views. If you look at the responses to my negative posts you see the same people again and again. You will also see the posts backing me up and even thanking me for providing a balanced view on that board.
I dont regard bringing negative opinions or information to share holders as a bad thing. I have always said my posting are for short-term holders or people concerned about the share price in the short term. With each posting I supply reasoning and logic for readers to assess and decide their self.
I have been accused of telling people to sell their shares. This is a blatant lie; I always take great care to keep away from giving direct advice like that. I have seen people do that all the time in all shares but I dont. Even when asked I have given opinions on both sides and told the person only they can decide what to do with their money.
I have only ever as far, as I can recall, put up a SELL note on any Des board. That was when the 01/07/05 RNS came confirming that they where having problems booking a rig. The reason I did that at that time was because that RNS was sent last thing Friday night and it was sure to have an impact the following week. In that following week the share price went from 40.25 to 35.25 so I was right to warn people and if anyone did act on that then they saved themselves some money. Surely people would be pleased for that. As it is the share has had a bit more news and the RH IPO to lift it back.
Now if you look at the reverse of that and take a look at the rampers stories that get posted
Expect rig news at the AGM
Des holding back rig news to help RH IPO expect rig news then.
RH to buy into Desire
etc etc etc
If any of these enticed people to top-up or invest then they would have lost money. A typical example was people predicting the SP post 45p issue. Some were saying as soon as the issue was over people desperate to get in would pile in take the SP above a 1.00. My view was although the issue must be worth taking we would need to see how many extra shares were given to those who asked for them. This would tell us if the was such demand.
When the extra shares came though I was very surprised at the number I got. I expected 10% at most and think I got more the 50% of what I asked for. This led me to think maybe the demand would not be there. Was I wrong for expressing that view?
At that time what I couldnt understand was why had the SP slipped from almost 70p to just above 45p in a month or so? Can anyone else think of a reason for that? This was pre the issue. Take a look at this and note the dates
05/01/05 an article in the Guardian reports: the shares fell 1.25p to 60p amid whispers that it is putting the finishing touches to a 20m institutional fundraising at 50p. Market gossips believe the cash will be used to start exploration drilling in the North Falklands basin and suggest Desire has decided at present not to join forces with a larger oil company to develop the site.
Fact one - Institution knew about the share issue when the share was 60p and above.
Fact two - The share holders found out more then one month later, the SP had already dropped down to 50p and had just rose slightly back to 55p on this speculation of the issue yet no one could explain the falls day after day.
14/02/05 RNS arrives - Desire announces that it is proposing a placing of 35,555,556 Placing Shares at 45p per share and an Open Offer of 20,335,100 are many.
Consider this, if you knew the share you currently held could be replaced for a quick 20-25% profit would you be tempted to sell the current ones at 60p and above and then buy them back at 45p. Would you do it, would anyone you know do? The talk on the boards at the time was you might as well buy into the open issue and sell your current shares now at 55p. But I suggested some people had already done that. Remember some people had over a month advantage over the shareholders. - Is that fair comment? some think not.
Im sorry this has gone on a bit long, Ill cut off now.
Thing is I could go on but I think I have made my point. Its all in those achieves as I say. Just keep an open mind is all I ask.
KO.

Interesting for a rough cost comparison.
http://www.scandoil.com/moxie/news/contracts/new-contract-for-bulford-.shtml
Dolphin Drilling Ltd., a subsidiary of Fred. Olsen Energy ASA, has received a Letter of Intent from Equator Exploration Ltd. for a five well drilling programme, with an estimated duration of 210 days, offshore West Africa for the semi-submersible rig Bulford Dolphin.
Estimated contract value is USD 37.5 million including a mobilisation fee of USD 6 million. The unit is presently preparing for demobilisation from offshore Mexico having recently been released by Pemex and will depart to West Africa imminently.

Hi all
No change in todays open & closing price. The candle is not a doji as it is sometimes when there is no price change. The candle appears bearish, however, it has matching bottoms with yesterdays candle. The candle also has a lower shadow, which is where the bulls gave support. The bears had intended to close DES on the low of the shadow. The candle therfore gives bullish implications, confirmation of this will be if DES closes above todays close. The candle is also sitting ontop of the rising window, which is roughly where I see support. The 200 day moving average is still moving up and is still above 0.4600p. DES is a bit lower down in the Bollinger bands, which means the bulls may see it as a time for buying. The three month up trend is still intact, I still feel the market intends to move DES up further. However we will still meet resistance at the 200 day moving average and 0.4800p. Britishbulls.com have DES on a buy if.
Good Luck All

Good Evening Coeliac1,
I'm sorry you have no respect or interest in my postings or indeed Tesco red wine! I'm no Guru just a fellow investor adding his bit to the discussion. At least I've got the bottle to put my neck on the line and express my price targets in hopefully a pleasent manner.
Kind regards

coeliac1, and all the negative posters, this stock really isn't that speculative, the oil is there and it's Desire's. The technolgy has improved and it's just a case of being patient for a huge oil field to come online. I have been a holder of DES for many yrs and seen a lot of ups and downs, this is the most exciting stock to watch for the future and I'm quite pleased there is now difference of opinion as that means a big price hike soon, as with others such as YOO. Not sure if you know something and are trying to run the price down but it never works and i predict 50plus in the next mth, you can quote me on it later if i'm wrong but you know i'm right.

JP "Agreed Robstuff "?
I surprised at you JP, what's in that post you agree with may I ask?
That it's now a fact Desire will find a "huge oil field".
A big price hike soon and a rise to "50p next week".
Both of these seem to go against your postings elsewhere. Why only Monday on two other boards included the following -
"This would mean this week 38p and next week returning above 40p. upto mid year numbers from Desire I believe expected in September we could see 44p as a central figure and I don't discount 48p."
I think you would agree it would take a lot to get to 25% next week. The price maybe showing some small rise now but we both know selling has been going on most of the last 5 or 6 days. The other point - You have always maintained the stance that this share no matter what anyone says it still high risk. Anyone thinking anything else is blinkered, it's a punt like any other, some say 10/1, I just know it's less the 50-50.
If you chould clear this up please as you have often stated your concern over clarity or are we simply seeing your reaction to the criticism of you further up the board ? If so, I don't think it's in anyones interest to encourage these positive v negative postings do you? All info is positive so much better to keep to opinion and give solid reasons to back those up not just rant at people like robstuff.
All the best, and good luck with your Q&A Thursday on iii.
