ASOS: BUY AT LOW PRICE!!!! (ASC)

wilco99 - 12 Sep 2003 15:52

ASOS have dropped quite significantly in the past week for no particular reason and I view this as the perfect opportunity to invest as I can see them bouncing right back up to the 5.50p mark in the next 2-3 weeks. STRONG BUY!!

Sorry to bring everyone down, but imagine my misery at the moment.....

A few months ago I had my mouse hovering over the buy button at 6p. Got distracted and lost my nerve shortly after. Been sobbing ever since!!!!

I know this isn't a councelling forum, but can you PLEASE stop any talk about 100p by Xmas???!!! I might just have to top myself......

Just bought in and nearly showing profit already within 2 hours, wow...

bosley - 21 Jul 2004 09:52 - 170 of 5941

beasties , i was like you , hovering at 9p. then i hovered again at 18p . i jumped in at 24p . imagine my surprise when , for once, i got it right. fantastic!!

The only other stock I've owned like it is AZM which went at tremendous pace last year from 40p to 2.00 plus. I have been in since 14p and must admit to selling half my holdings today at 68.5p, keeping the other half for a goodly time yet. Investing profits into MPH.

Beasties - 21 Jul 2004 10:17 - 173 of 5941

Bosley, I hovered at 6, then 7, then again at 9, at which point I thought I'd missed my chance. I'm sittin here lookin at a price of 69p at one point this am crying my eyes out!! The holy grail; a ten-bagger.........

And I just know I'm going to end up buying some at which point it'll be the top of the market and I'll lose money instead of striking gold!!!!!

Beasties - 21 Jul 2004 10:21 - 174 of 5941

The really sickening thing is my rules of entry-point that I've been applying for some time now screamed at me to get in. They've stood me in good stead with FTO, MPH, BBC, SEY, OYS so why didn't I listen to myself with this one????

capa - 21 Jul 2004 10:35 - 175 of 5941

Wouldn't beat yourself up too much Beasties. We've all done the same, funnily enough my big regret was BBC one you jumped in on, I was going to buy at under 50p, didn't, and watched it race up to 4.00. I regret not only the price increase but the dividend I would have been getting if I had purchased at under 50p.

Don't know anything about FTO but all your other stocks apart from BBC I hold and am happy holding.

capa fto has good potential. big deal about to happen . should all go through in july.i think everyone is waiting for that to happen before the share takes off. . am happy holding onto asos . feeling quite happy at the mo.

well it is a good feeling when you get something right , isnt it.

capa - 21 Jul 2004 11:02 - 177 of 5941

sure is Bosley, makes up for the disappointments and if it wasn't for the successes we would lose interest as well as money .

I will have a look at FTO thanks

willfagg - 21 Jul 2004 11:21 - 178 of 5941

I happily bought at 10p but unhappily sold half at 27p. Still cant complain . Fingers crossed as I have SEY,FTO & SPS upon which I pin great hopes.(so i dont seem conceited i do hold KTS,GON & ECK at prices I would rather not talk about but I still hope!)

capa - 21 Jul 2004 11:29 - 179 of 5941

Good point willfagg - here are my confessions

TOA - 50% loss
PTY - 20% loss
AQP - 20% loss
RSA - 20% loss

still holding all above (ever the optimist)

Dear capa I lost a lot on PTY and sold, but think their price is starting to look interesting and heard a recent upbeat comment. I think they will make a comeback (in shareprice) The difficult bit is i do not know when? I will buy if they hit 9p( I do not buy anything that I believe does not have potential to double as a minimum - not that I achieve it!) good luck

bosley - 21 Jul 2004 18:18 - 183 of 5941

anopther good day at the office , folks. this just doesnt seem to want to stop !!!!!!

capa - 21 Jul 2004 18:24 - 184 of 5941

agreed Bosley, though I do think 70p will be a problem to breach but everything seems to be in its favour :-) Have a look at MPH it is getting ready for the big push.

willfag - PTY. Yes this dropped like a stone and I was waiting for the bottom and a recovery which happened. Got in at 13.5p but the momentum evaporated. Set a target of 20p, don't want to see it fall back to 9p but if thats what it takes for 18p then I'm prepared for the short term pain !!

Interesting posts from all, and I have to conceed that this stock is AMAZING!! Some of the reasons for the extraordinary rise IMHO (apologies if I am preaching to the converted), are that it is an internet stock (how popular are those generally), it is a beaten up stock, and it is a turnaround story. Ask yourself if you have bought anything on the internet!! We are ahead of the game, we buy stocks on the internet!! The young kids who buy Kylies knickers and Posh's frocks are ahead of the game as well and punters are just waking up to it.

We are not seeing as much volatility as around 30p when the stock was up 10% one day and down the same the next. Infact I first bought in when the price had fallen by 16% in two days. I think the volitility has gone for the moment because the institutions are piling in. On most stocks I set a trailing stop loss of 20 %. On this one perhaps it should be 30%. Don't let it all end in tears!

rgrds to all

I have to admit it is now starting to race away faster than i can handle and would be happy for a period of "stability". i worry that shares can overheat and then panic can set in and the price can drop an unrealistic amount.having said that, if they come out with some new trading figures which underpin this new price or higher then lets keep flying. However i think some solid news is in order to substantiate recent events . On the other hand i could becoming a boring old fart!
