MOS International: (a new thread) Oil Engineers on the turnaround (MOI)

chad - 12 Apr 2005 16:42

Now that we all know what the prospects for MOS are i.e. damn good, thought I'd get a new thread going and just highlight MOS' attractions for any new investors.

Key highlights:

* Significant progress made, rationalisation programme almost complete

* Acquisitions integrated well

* International marketing network established

* Record order books, enquiry levels high, several new customers won

* Recent Director buys

From the Chairman's statement:

Outlook

Over the past year the management team has extended the product range, put in
place in-house manufacturing, rationalised the existing business and greatly
expanded the marketing effort, opening up significant new markets to MOS
products. Once the acquisitions have been fully integrated MOS will offer a
wider product range to a broader market and have a much reduced cost base. We
have record order books, we have attracted major new customers and we are
targeting new markets, worldwide. Overall, we have made good progress and the
outlook remains extremely positive.

Trading Update

MOS International PLC ('MOS'), the oilfield services company, announces that
trading is in line with market expectations. TURNOVER FOR THE YEAR TO 31st MARCH 2005 IS EXPECTED TO BE CIRCA 10M COMPARED WITH 1.05M IN THE YEAR TO 31st MARCH 2004.

MOS currently has an order book in excess of 7m for delivery prior to the year
end.

The recent acquisitions have integrated well, the rationalisation programme at
MOS is almost complete and that at Ansell Jones will be completed in this
financial year.

Tender and enquiry levels remain high and the Board is positive regarding the
future. Significant progress has been made and the business is well on the road
to recovery, with turnover forecast to show a further considerable increase, in
the next financial year.

On a turnover of 10million with a profit of say 1million, this company is on a P/E ratio of just 8 (market cap being around 8million at present). This company has been overlooked by the institutions and investors alike and is due a big re-rating soon IMHO. DYOR as usual.

I think we now need some news to shift this or a tip in Shares Mag/IC would be nice. 100% sure though blue skies are not far away!

chrissie - 29 Apr 2005 16:57 - 168 of 890

Buys easily outnumber sells again today, horrible spread though that must put off buyers. Having said that, will probably only affect short termers.

canary9 - 29 Apr 2005 20:44 - 169 of 890

Chrissie, my interpretation of this is that the MMs still have an overhang of stock to shift. We have been able to buy at .79p for the last 2 weeks, while we were able to sell at .75p until the middle of this week, when they moved it down to .70p. They don't need our shares imho! Anyone with level 2? Perkaps they would could make a different conclusion!

EWRobson - 29 Apr 2005 21:33 - 170 of 890

Chrissie: agree with canary that the intention is to put off sellers rather than buyers. Agree also it would be helpful to know what Level2 is saying as that might give an indication as to the amount of stock available. Probably needs some more positive news about trading or new contracts to move the sp forward anyway. The key unknows at the moment are when will they become cashflow positive and what level of margins will they be generating.

If when the results are published we see that on 10mil turnover Moi has made 500k or 1mil profit, what do you think a fair value sp would be? I am assuming that the statement that goes with the results will be very positive.

gromore - 03 May 2005 08:56 - 172 of 890

Assuming 500k-1m profit and using a p/e of 20 would give a price of between 1and 2p. However, together with a 'very positive' statement market sentiment could drive the price up considerably.

What do you think of Hoodless, Brennan & Partners buying 50,000,000 shares on the 27thApril and then selling them the same day?

gromore - 03 May 2005 19:06 - 174 of 890

I looks to me that they already had a client(s) lined up to buy the shares. If it was one client then there should be a further notifiable interest announced shortly. Hoodless Brennan presumably recommended Moi to the client(s) so I would view that as an endorsement of MOI as an investment.

chrissie - 03 May 2005 19:15 - 175 of 890

That's what I was thinking. I was also thinking that we might have some more director buys just after or alongside the results.

queen1 - 03 May 2005 19:42 - 176 of 890

So is the move down to 0.75p the final play in the fund-raising scenario or is the sp set to go lower? There been a lot of positivity on this BB but on a day when the market had it's best day since January the MOI sp fell.

EWRobson - 03 May 2005 19:49 - 177 of 890

Chrissie; Hoodless Brennan will have acquired these shares through the recent placing; presumably there is some protocol that allows them not to be declared until they have been sold on. They will have lined up the sales in parcels to their clients since the acquisition making a turn of a few percentage points. Don't know whether there is any ling with the transactions in the market at 84p. The plus point about the announcement is that that particular overhang has gone. The acquirers may not be long-term holders but will have been encouraged to believe that they will themselves make a turn on the shares.

I have made the point previously that we shouldn't be looking for profits in the year recently ended. Two main reasons: first, it was described as a difficult year; second, the November fundraising was for reorganisation, has obviously been used up and will be a charge against net revenue for the year. The important thing, in my view, is that there should be a good indication of current trading and thsi should be at least as positive for the sp as a positive outcome for last year, if that has in fct happened. I note that there are no broker forecasts on Hemscott; something that needs to be rectified in future so inteested brokers are also waiting with baited breath!

The 0.75p trades today were in fact buys as I could get 0.75p this afternoon.
I think drop is to deter sellers as there is plenty of stock but when it runs out the sp should move on. Maybe this does need a consolidation or would that be negative?

ptholden - 03 May 2005 22:39 - 179 of 890

Andy

Judging from this board and across the road, there does seem to be anawful lot of shares in circulation, apparently 1100 million, quite a lot for a small company. I guess it will take a significant quantity of purchases before the SP shifts. Only thing that puts me off to be honest. I researched MOI independantly of all BBs and added to my watchlist before even looking at BB threads.

EWRobson - 03 May 2005 22:52 - 180 of 890

Shares are denominated at 0.025p so there is room for consolidation, probably on a 1 for 40 basis at some stage, evidently rumoured. In the end of the day, the cap. is the name of the game and at 8.8m this is very low given the expectations for growth in turnover and profit levels. It seems that the market is taking a very short-term view on a lot of shares and is probably not looking beyond last year's results at present. Just been commenting on the very positive news flowing out of ITR (interregnum) and, while the price has moved forward, it is in no way reflecting the value of the last two news items.

chrissie - 06 May 2005 00:33 - 181 of 890

I have been trying to find out when the results will be published as I do not think this sp will move up significantly until we get news or results. The question is, will it be in a couple of months ie approx June or a few months approx Sept? I haven't managed to find out a thing, I wonder if someone else could try contacting P Woods or Seymout Pierce. I know they can't tell us exactly but a rough idea would help. I know last year was Sept but they managed to get the interims out in 3 months in Dec so I am really hoping it's June. I know I keep going on about this.

bosley - 06 May 2005 08:01 - 182 of 890

i was hoping for sooner rather than later, chrissie. but as long as the results show good progress i dont mind when they are released. i do agree with you that the price wont move without news/results.

chad - 06 May 2005 13:49 - 183 of 890

Yea, I agree. Still, good side is we've got plenty of time to add at cheap prices.

EWRobson - 06 May 2005 20:03 - 184 of 890

chrissie: if they got the interims out in Decemeber, then it is likely they will get the prlims out by end of June or certainly July. A year ago they were struggling with a pretty serious situation and had much reorganisation in hand and there was probably no point in trying to get the figures out quickly anyway. They have now set a standard, they are clearly very aware of the needs of their shareholders, being quick with announcements re contracts, etc. I have previously stated the view, in fact I have gone on about it too, that the trading statment for Q1 will be more important: reasonable to expect that in July. I would also be surprised if thatere wasn't news in the interim re contracts won, etc.

Thanks EWR, I really do think that tesults will be published on 30thJune .....And they WILL be good and show the future potential of MOS International!
