Bugger, I was just going to add a few more at 81p, now its 83p.

However, I will wait a few more days in case 81p comes back again as I think in the months ahead, 81p or 83p will be very cheap compared to where Leadcom might be going ;)

porky - 20 Mar 2006 13:45 - 168 of 955

Decided I could wait no longer, hope your enthusiasm rubs off on the share price PapalPower.
Sold out the other day another big mistake, must now render my sell button finger nonoperational.
Your research has been invaluable too.
Regards.

PapalPower - 20 Mar 2006 14:45 - 169 of 955

Porky, the Q1 update should be good, but there should be better things waiting for later in April (or early May if not in April) so keep the faith and I would avoid the sell button for a period of time ;)

porky - 20 Mar 2006 14:58 - 170 of 955

The sell button is now off limits.
All the best.

Saintserf - 20 Mar 2006 21:17 - 171 of 955

I thought that market makers were beginning to lose their dominance on share price action with the movement towards sets. Maybe, I've misunderstood it. Also, I like this share, and your research has been very prescient papal power but isn't the founders/directors selling normally a bad thing? I know it said that it was for institutional demand but how do we know this, wouldn't it be in their interests to hold on for further rises?

Saintserf - 20 Mar 2006 21:37 - 172 of 955

I like the institutions buying at market price, slightly unusual and that fidelity's funds hold leadcom. After Peter Lynch's association with fidelity and his books I hope his value based stock picking has rubbed off on the current crop of fidelity's fund managers. However, I'm not sure about the x trades because they seem awfully small amounts for institutional buying.

Saintserf - 20 Mar 2006 21:38 - 173 of 955

Do you know where you can find out what instititutional holdings there are in companies. I can't get it on moneyam's active package on company zone. Is it available free anywhere like hemscott?

PapalPower - 21 Mar 2006 00:30 - 174 of 955

The insti's taking the shares at full value is all you need to know moving forward over the next couple of months :) As Leadcom is an Isreali company it will not be covered by Hemscott. Insti's buy like that, apart from big lumps, they will also build over a period of time taking smaller available lumps.

I am expecting a price well over 100p by May, with a good Q1 update and big news like contracts and stuff in April/May :)

Saintserf - 21 Mar 2006 20:20 - 175 of 955

Thanks. Do you know where you can get info about the main shareholders in companies?

PapalPower - 22 Mar 2006 00:14 - 176 of 955

For all companies with a head office in the UK, you can get the info from Hemscott Premium if you sign up (but they do not cover companies with head office outside of the UK) (www.hemscott.net)

I do not now anyone who offers it for free.

thankyou papal power

PapalPower - 24 Mar 2006 00:47 - 179 of 955

Saintserf, I was not expecting this news, I am expecting other news, but cannot complain with another load of money in the bag :)

Saintserf - 24 Mar 2006 13:09 - 180 of 955

Thankyou, bought into leadcom yesterday. Feeling quite comfortable about it, especially after today's trades, all buys so far. Just on the off chance I was wondering if you had any views on ADN. Aberdeen Asset Management, it's a boring share, but has a great chart and looks a good turnaround story. Vislink's chart looks great as well, although it's gone up quite a lot lately.

PapalPower - 24 Mar 2006 13:48 - 181 of 955

Saintserf, I'll take a look.

You have got in in good time I think, news flow for April should be good, and we could be getting hot on Lead just like some spices and curry ;)

PapalPower - 25 Mar 2006 03:55 - 182 of 955

If we put this news article (Aug 05), along with the comment from the Feb results, do you think we will be getting curry hot come April/May time ? Perhaps news coming after the trading update that will be the final push to give a rerating to Leadcom ? All pointers would be pointing that way.....

Indian consultant for Israeli exporters 21/08/05

The Indian telecom market is experiencing a period of rapid, exponential growth, according to telecom consultant Prem Behl, who has been hired by the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute to help Israeli exporters do business in India.
Breaking in to the Indian telecom market will now be easier thanks to a consulting service agreement signed recently between the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute and Exhibitions India Pvt LTD.
The contract has come just in time. Israeli telecom sales to India are soaring, rising 115 percent in 2004 to $140 million.
The deal marks the first time the IEICI has secured an Indian agent for telecom, IT and software businesses. The goal was to secure a local who is familiar with the market and can organize personal meetings with Indian buyers in this vast and diversified territory.
The New Delhi-based Exhibitions India is the pioneer and leading consultant for the telecom and IT markets in India.
The firm is to handle requests from Israeli companies seeking business contacts and potential business partners in India. It is also to receive trade and business delegations from Israel and provide logistical support.
Prem Behl, managing director of Exhibitions India, says overseas companies, including from Israel, have difficulty understanding government proceedings, finding local partners and setting up businesses. We can be a platform to help them overcome bureaucracy and find business partners, he says.
The Indian telecom market is experiencing a period of rapid, exponential growth, according to Behl, who says the number of mobile subscribers has now passed the number of fixed line users.
There are some 100 million phone lines in India, he notes. The monthly subscription growth rate stands at 2.3 million, he says.
Indian companies are now making huge investments in infrastructure and are looking for new products and services to satisfy customer needs, Behl notes. As for Israel, Behl says Indian companies are always interested because of their technology and R&D invested in products.
Behl says growing Indian-Israel trade ties will also help companies in both countries forge business ties. In September, a delegation of Indian IT and telecom companies is set to arrive for a visit.

From the results :

These new contracts add to Leadcom's already healthy order-book for 2006 and
provide further confirmation of a promising start to the year.
The Company's opportunity pipeline comprises both of expansion of Leadcom's
on-going activities within its current countries of operation (with both
existing customers, and new ones), as well as of several wider-scale,
innovative opportunities, some of which are in new countries.
We anticipate that establishing the proper operational and managerial set-up in India (which is now in process) will result in providing a solid foundation for continual growth for years to come.
In parallel, Leadcom is now gradually increasing the portion of Value Added and
Managed Services in its portfolio, and we believe our activities in this area
offer significant opportunities for growth over the short to medium term mainly
throughout Europe, Africa and South America.

Fingers crossed holders, this one is around 4.5 Billion dollars in total on the tender, and I do think Leadcom are chasing this one through partners ;) If the new Indian arm of Leadcom comes up trumps on this tender for certain parts of it, then expect EPS far far far ahead of present forecasts ;) Anyone guessing now why insti's were so keen to get in :)

Country to have 45.5 million mobile phone lines in 3 years

New Delhi | March 23, 2006 7:32:14 PM IST

Billed as the biggest expansion moves by state owned telecom company, BSNL, the country would have in place 45.5 million GSM and 3-G enabled phone lines over the next three years at an estimated cost of five billion dollars.
Although the total expansion of network is of 60 million lines, the remaining 14.5 million lines has been reserved for public sector ITI, which has a technical tie up with French equipment giant Alcatel a top ranking BSNL official said.
BSNL has opted for two stage bidding system for the tender, which includes planning, engineering, supply, installation and commissioning of the lines.
The country's largest telecom operators called for bids for 45.5 million cellular lines the world's largest such order.
Alcatel, Nokia and Ericsson will get a shot in the arm via their local manufacturing bases and tie-ups. Other players who do not have such bases like Motorola, Nortel and Chinese companies like ZTE and Huawei will have to either set up a local manufacturing base or opt for sub-contracting from an Indian company.
According to the tender for 17.5 million lines which are to be supplied in the first phase the vendor can import the equipment. But for the, the remaining two phases of 14 million each, only locally manufactured equipment will be accepted.
Work on leasing or constructing a factory and procurement of capital goods for manufacturing has to be completed within six months of the issue of order.

BSNL to add 45.5 million mobile lines

Thursday, 23 March , 2006, 21:31

Mumbai: In the biggest ever expansion of mobile phone networks in India, state-owned BSNL Thursday invited bids for adding 45.5 million lines spread over three years, envisaging an investment of 4.5 billion dollar (Rs 20,000 crore).

The tender is the first step towards BSNL's massive expansion plan of 63.5 million GSM lines, out of which 18 million lines goes towards the PSU quota to ITI (and Alcatel combine) for the west zone.
Out of 45.5 million lines, 25 percent will be third generation mobile (3G services) compatible, and there is a possibility that it could be increased by 50 percent to 63.5 million, AK Sinha, CMD, BSNL said.
The 3G service hinges upon many factors, including the announcement of a spectrum policy. Availability of spectrum will offer BSNL's CellOne users high-speed data, voice and video on their phones.
Sinha said he hopes that clarity on spectrum policy will be there by June this year, paving the way for spectrum release.
SD Saxena, Director, Finance, BSNL said for financing the tender of Rs 20,000 crore, the PSU will borrow Rs 5,000 crore.

PP everything looks so very positive for this company i was very suprised to find the directors have sold big tranches of shares with such a positive future coming up. What do you think??

PapalPower - 25 Mar 2006 12:13 - 185 of 955

They sold into institution demand, as in requested to sell at full market value, so I cannot blame them for taking it, they want to enjoy their success. Also, they still hold a number of shares, did not sell out in full, and will not doubt get some more in bonuses as time goes by. There is an earlier post from an Israeli paper which details the reason why, and also how much a positive sign it was that big instituions purchased the shares at no discount, full market price. This India thing may be the reason why, give it a few months, 4.5 Billion dollars might equate down to perhaps 1.5 Billion to Leadcom in 3 years, if their consortium wins :)
