I'd send you Mr Grumpy's, T_I_M...only he's not quick.
Plenty of fizz here, Stormie - and you're on a loser with your slippers, Space - what were you thinking of doing with them anyway?

You are most generous, as always, er....you didn't accidentally "borrow" the slippers in lieu of lost shoes.......did you?

Socs/Jeffers..yup,antique timepiece collector was/is me.
Actually auctioned most of mine before emigrating, kept best of bunch.
As you say Socs it prob is daft that sort of value being in a clock but if you look at the workmanship, age, tools availability of the age, precision it makes you wonder whether we're really going forward.
Then you read the comments here about cd's, dvd's, pc's etc being worthless before they're out of the box.
I don't want my two 'herberts' to inherit that sort of crap but my 1842 french carriage repeater with porcelain face, early alarm will last forever and always retain an increasing value, at the same time giveing great pleasure.
Maybe they are worth the monet!

When I lived in Pittsburgh, PA for a year as a child, 35 years ago, we went trick or treating. Two of us roamed the entire neighbourhood in the dark for 3 hours, going much further than I'd ever been, and coming back shattered and with two bulging supermarket-type carrier bags of sweets/chocolate etc. Our parents would have had absolutely no idea where we were. Different times.

Afternoon all,
MM,
That sounds much more like it, and is a great tradition there I believe, but the situation I outlined is totally different, and very disturbing, I didn't even recognise the children, so they were not local, therefore probably unaware of the risk they were running.
K
So right.
