GOLD OIL PLC (GOO)

driver - 23 Feb 2006 15:42

GOLD OIL, the London-based oil exploration company focused on the South American and Caribbean region, announces that in late December 2005, the Company received an Operator Certificate from PeruPetro that allows the Company to carry out seismic, drilling and development operations in Northwest Peru.
The Promotion Licence signed with PeruPetro on October 15, 2004 with PeruPetro for Block XI (now renamed Block XXI) onshore Sechura Basin has been converted to an Exploration and Production Licence. The Licence now goes to the Ministry of Energy and Mines for approval, which could be forthcoming anytime between February and May of this year 2006.
The terms of the E&P Licence commit the Company to either shoot 120 km of 2D seismic or drill a well in the first period of five over a seven year term. The remaining four periods require the Company to either drill a well or drop the acreage. The Licence is for a term of 30 years for oil and 40 years for gas, with a minimum royalty of 5% on wellhead production for the first 5000bopd (30 MMscfd for gas) rising to 20% if and when production reaches 100,000 bopd (600 MMscfd for gas).

Times Article:
Gold Oil is valued in the market at about 15m. That is so small that almost any good news must have a big impact on the share price.
What are the chances of that happening? Run by a former Burmah Oil director, Mike Burchell, Gold Oil will drill the first in a series of wells in the Sechura Basin in April. There will be surprise if it does not find gas, as another company, Olympic, has done just that in a similar formation nearby.
The secondary target, later in the year, will be oil, I gather. A couple of months ago, Petro Tech made a big oil find offshore in the Sechura Basin. The theory is the oil may have migrated up into Gold Oils block. Dont ask me to explain the geology because I dont speak Palaeozoic. But a decent oil find here would be a company-maker.
Gold Oil has enough cash to fund this years drilling programme. And it already has a deal in place to sell its gas to Mann Ferrostaal, a German company that is building an ammonia plant nearby. Getting all that for 15m seemed a bargain to me. But Gold Oil still has to find its gas.

you may have to pay a small premium in the spread.

say spread 8.5 -9.0 for a t10 you would possibly pay around 8.9p but for a t25 possibly 10p or just under. but sometimes i am quoted same price for a t10 t20 or t25. but usually prepared to pay the small extra for long settlement.

Thanks!

Rereading the website news on Spain an update is due. And production figures from Colombia should be known soon.

tvc15 - 11 Oct 2006 15:35 - 1679 of 4580

8.45p to buy online.

lizard - 11 Oct 2006 16:10 - 1680 of 4580

would expect an rns on the programme for Burdine re entry of another 3 wells that require workovers. or maybe website update.

i expect now nancy is producing above target bpd and they have ecopetrol approval they will want the remaining 4 wells producing asap.

laurie squash - 11 Oct 2006 16:49 - 1681 of 4580

Yes it was more the website update I was looking at - last done 2nd October.

Is it legal turning a buy into a sell?
IMO opinion misleading at best to deliberate share manipulation.

More important to us - Why?

HARRYCAT - 11 Oct 2006 17:39 - 1682 of 4580

Am I right in saying that all 'buys' & 'sells' are assumed, based on the trade price.
On Selftrade they don't even assume. Based on the price you have to make your own assumption as to a buy or sell. All they indicate is a rising or falling trend.
I haven't seen a site where the trade information is 100% accurate. Presumably they exist???

lizard - 11 Oct 2006 20:43 - 1683 of 4580

the trading systems and the volume tabling dont understand how mm work imo. the trades at 8.45p today were buys yet showing as sells and therefore not one reported buy today. how do i know this because buyers on the advfn thread confirmed buying at these levels. i did a dummy also offered 8.45p.
it was the same yesterday with buys at 8.48p and 8.49p under mid price. tight spread they may have well just lowered the offer but trying to confuse pi's.

playing silly buggers imo just waiting for news flow now which is fast approaching.

R88AVE - 11 Oct 2006 20:49 - 1684 of 4580

It is very misleading for people like myself a novice. You are bound to worry when you see sea of red sells when some of them arent. What I cant understand why it is so far out the price difference on moneyam.

click on investment opportunities and then bid rounds.

interested to see which one goo have applied for?. also they are due to bid in Round 8 Brazil Next month for exploration licenses. news flow could get interesting in this Q.

lizard - 12 Oct 2006 08:23 - 1686 of 4580

interesting to read vog drilling report- hydrocarbon bearing zones confirmed of 55ft net pay. goo's logging confirms 250ft and 315ft gross of hydrocarbon bearing sands in two zones. next few weeks could get interesting when goo start production testing.

fliper - 12 Oct 2006 10:55 - 1687 of 4580

Sea of red again , are the 8.42 buys ? lots of sells ? in the last few days but no movement in the sp .

R88AVE - 12 Oct 2006 11:00 - 1688 of 4580

Fliper see other comments yesterday, I brought up this subject as some are actually buys, the moneyam is not showing them correctly.

lizard - 12 Oct 2006 11:01 - 1689 of 4580

not just moneyam.

yes for sure quoted on barclays 8.4p to buy they are playing silly buggers with us again the day before 8.45p buy price show as sells the day before that 8.48 8.49p show as sells when buys the trade just then at 8.49p buy but down as sell.

fliper - 12 Oct 2006 11:04 - 1690 of 4580

The mm are working the market . They are picking up cheap shares . No change in the sp is good news .

Marcel1970 - 12 Oct 2006 11:16 - 1691 of 4580

Hi i now for a fact there buys as i bought 100000 this morning @8.45

driver - 12 Oct 2006 11:24 - 1692 of 4580

GOO 8.25 to sell and 8.40 to buy at the moment online with Barclays so a couple of sells and the rest are buys.

fliper - 12 Oct 2006 11:31 - 1693 of 4580

It should read 12 buys and 4 sells .

HARRYCAT - 12 Oct 2006 11:57 - 1694 of 4580

fliper - They are only cheap if you are confident that the sp will increase.
It is possible that the sp is being manipulated. If the sp drops still further, those people buying now are going to be disappointed & the mms are going to be delighted.
I am still holding but at a slight loss at the moment. Steadfastly resisting the temptation to buy more.

R88AVE - 12 Oct 2006 12:03 - 1695 of 4580

I think the buy price must be increasing last one through was marked as 8.70p.

fliper - 12 Oct 2006 12:07 - 1696 of 4580

I just had a little go to buy and i was quoted 8.7 as well . The mm are on to us !
