That is just a repost from the thread header. I suppose that it makes it OK now for me to repost my posts then.

Good evening all. A bit late in joining this new BB. Well done peteark. And doesn't this squelching work a treat.

Here's the proof right from the outset:

Low cost UK telephone calls

Haystack - 24 May 2005 22:24 - 174 of 1643

Try this for lists of cheap call operators. Much cheaper than CCR

I think I am correct that evs has had a recent intraday high of approx 7.2 pence. With the current sp trading around the 4.0 pence level representing an almost 45% retracement I think that your constant defensive of this company on these bb's is far more detrimental to small investors than the likes of the so called "de-rampers". Understandably you are very emotionally involved in evs as you have your own cash riding on it (something I would guess the "de-rampers" do not) but I wonder at what point will you stop yourself out?

As much as ccr is a great product I imagine the majority of evs revenue is still in the highly competitive low margin wholesale business and this is what will drive the sp. Who knows? However I do know that over the past month I would be a richer man listening to Haystack than yourself.

As an unbiased "lurker" on these bb's most of the abuse I have seen has been aimed at the likes of haystack no doubt stemming from bitterness caused by a falling sp.

For the record I believe evs is a great company led by a highly skilled bunch but I have no idea where the sp is going.

CCR have an uphill battle to gain any serious market share. Even AOL are now offering a service for 7.99/month and you get to call all UK landlines for free. This is just one of dozens of special deals that will be coming out very soon. This is a cut throat businss with margins getting tighter all the time. The very ease of use of the CCR service is also its potential downfall. You can switch away from CCR at a moment's notice.

Dear AOL Member,

We've got some great news for you. As part of our commitment to deliver the best value to our members, we are delighted to announce the launch of AOL Talk, our new home phone service.

AOL is extending the unlimited philosophy that we apply to our Internet services to our new home phone service. AOL Talk allows you to make unlimited phone calls to UK landline numbers for 7.99 per month and is only available to AOL members.

Even calling cards is not such a good business any more. I see 5 calling cards on sale for 3-50 or three for 9-25 in newsagents shops everywhere now. I have even seen a few doing them at 3 each. The margins for the orginator of the calling cards is now tiny. Out of that 5 card for 3 has to come the profit for the newsagent and the carrier. What was a good business over the last couple of years is now this year much more competitive.

The market for IP services to corporations is now much more difficult. BT alone are now huge providers of VoIP to companies. It was two years ago now that BT converted the whole of Abbey's branch network telephone system to VoIP. In the long term it will be the major carriers that survive and not the small players like EVS.

Well, this is hilarious! Haystack has now become my new email pal!

Obviously the filter system is kicking in nicely and it seems to be the way forward in ridding the BB of unwanted problems. (ALTHOUGH HE IS EMAILING ME DIRECT)

I have pre-warned Moneyam that Haystack will probably start posting here and I am aware that somebody has sent a recent post he made promising his annoyance on all threads that Annbar has investments in.

This whole situation is not acceptable and everybody should email suggestions that the thread creator should be allowed to filter premium members who antagonise BB's.

Hopefully this will one day be implemented.

Meanwhile I look forward to everybody building this thread into one as good as we all had on the other side!

LOL

Now that is really funny.

Haystack - 25 May 2005 00:00 - 181 of 1643

EVS has long since dropped out of its uptrend and is now making tracks for lower pastures. My targets are 3p short term and 2p later on. With the increased pressure on margins, it is difficult to see how EVS can maintain their current levels of profitability.

Unfortunately your definition of annoying is to post negative views on a stock. I am sure you would be much happier running this as a fan club for EVS.

Haystack - 25 May 2005 00:06 - 183 of 1643

The BBC2 program about VoIP last Friday was interesting but only scratched the surface. It covered Skype, which I think is a bit of a novelty but also Vonage which is more of a serious provider. There are dozens like that around. You don't even need a call provider to use VoIP. If you have a downloadable soft phone or an IP phone then you can connect for free is you know the IP address of the other person. The call operators effectively give your IP address a phone number. I could give you a huge list of VoIP operators that can be used from your PC or with an ATA adaptor you can use your own normal phone over broadband without a PC. This is a very dificult market to make money in long term. Small cut price call shops like EVS/CCR will find life gets tougher over the next year as major carriers eat into their business.

Advan, sorry to hear you have not been well of late, hope you are better before you go on your break.

This thread looks great with all the...

"Haystack - 25 May'05 - 00:06 - 182 of 182 (Filtered)"

...plastered all over the place.

However, Insiderinsider does seem to have a point when he suggests that EVS will be stuck around 3.5p to 4.5p without news to confirm that things are progressing in a possitive manner.

I feel that all we can do at this point in time is just sit tight with our investments and wait for the inevitable (as far as I'm concerned) possitive update from EVS.

Haystack - 25 May 2005 01:24 - 185 of 1643

There was a positive broker's update for EVS. However it was from Seymour Pierce which are EVS's house broker. It looks like they are supporting their client. Whenever did a house broker not say bullish things about their client. How often has a house broker issued a sell note. I would have thought that many people would ignore a lot of what a house broker had to say.

Morning, anyone who's up and about.

advans - 25 May 2005 07:22 - 187 of 1643

Good morning all! I may be mute, but my typing finger is still operational!

Tangle, thanks for your comment, I don't think I have ever experienced such feverish sweating! Woke up again this morning, absolutely drenched. I have lost a few pounds though which is handy! This is my last day to pull myself together for Paris on Thursday!

The other half wants to put it off but I think I would rather be there coughing than here!!!

With regards to EVS, there are two main things that are now required to get us moving, one being an update on the uptake of CCR and the other confirmation that revenues have continued as per forecasts.

To be fair, the market have seen but one good set of results which caused mass buying which obviously took the SP too far, too quick!

The market now needs to see that it was not a flash in the pan but a continued recovery story.

It is relatively clear without having to dig too deep, that CCR is receiving a positive response, I know of a few people who have sold this into a large database. I have no doubt we will all be very suprised when we eventually hear how it has progressed, bearing in mind it's recent launch.

Our derampers fail to see just how diverse this product is, and only acknowledge it as another cheap international call service. It is way, way more than that!

I am still very confident we will breach the 10p level when the next set of results appear, perhaps finding a new support level at about 7/8p.

CCR will be a cash generator, the profit markup is quite phenomonal and if the take up carries on as is, it will produce an ongoing and increasing revenue for Envesta Telecom with little cost to operate.

It would be a very interesting angle if Envesta could acquire a small Asian telecom and install their switching into that, allowing CCR to be used in return. I do know that these things are all under consideration for the future so given time, it could be one of those stocks that you always wished you had bought at 4p!!!

The management of Envesta do monitor the thread so I have informed them last night that there is a new one on here and that we are going to endeavour to structure it for sensible discussion and not let it degenerate as the one on ADV. (Evening humour still required)

Hopefully, if everyone adheres to the requirements as per the header, we will maintain sanity!
